Ema walked up to the witness stand, munching snackoos as per usual.

"Describe the reasons of suspicion for the defendant. Now." Ghastly commanded.

Ema sighed and began her testimony, much to The Judge's dismay.

WITNESS TESTIMONY - REASONS FOR SUSPICION

- The first thing is the fact that there was a witness who saw the defendant at the scene if the crime.

- Next, there's the fact that a threatening note was sent out so the defendant had an accomplice.

- The Fingerprints of the defendant were also found on certain weapons at the crime scene.

- And I think that sums it all up...if I didn't miss anything, that is.

The Judge cleared his throat. "The def-"

"-ence may begin their cross examination." Ghastly interrupted The Judge completely.

"Um..." The Judge glanced at the knife near Ghastly.
"...Nothing...continue. With the cross examination."

"ALRIGHT!" Chena yelled. "It's time...for the cross examination! You do know what to do, right?" She turned to Polly.

Polly raised an eyebrow. "...You do realise that this isn't my first time in court, right?"

"You do realise that people forget things, right?" Chena replied.

"You do realise that I still remember what to do, right?"

"DEFENCE. CROSS EXAMINATION. NOW." Ghastly yelled.

Polly sighed.

"Objection." Polly said, tilting her head upwards.

"Whaaaaat?!" Chena looked shocked. "Where's the shouting? The pointing? The over-the-top slamming of the desk?"

"...Two." Polly ignored her, continuing to speak.

"Two what?" Ema stopped munching.

"Two threatening letters." Polly smirked. "And both are nothing to do with this case."

"W-Wait..." The Judge paused. "What do you mean by 'both are nothing to do with this case...?'"

"I believe the defence is referring to the 'TR-9' incident, your honour." Prosecutor Bespoke ran his finger across the knife. "...The notes from what the police originally thought was from 'the killer' were actually from someone else entirely...someone who has nothing to do with this case."

"TR-9...TR-9..." The Judge muttered over and over. "...I can't seem to recall a case like that...it must be my old memory!"

(That's because TR-9 didn't take place in this country, your honour...)

"Since the threatening letters have nothing to do with this case. The whole accomplice thing is ruled out. But how could the defendant have been seen at the scene of the crime but then run away from it, only later to return?" Polly slammed the desk with her left hand. "How about we cross examine said witness to find out?"

"Scarlett Curls...witness stand." Prosecutor Bespoke flicked his knife up in the air. "Quickly, before his honour realises..."

The Judge was still trying to remember if he knew the TR-9 incident.
