Chapter 1
A/N: Up above is a picture I drew of Sider... sorry if it's not that great.
(Y/N)'s POV
As the first female in your family to ever wield the snake miraculous – let's just say the first few weeks were odd.
Apparently, Sider is pretty much a pervert when it comes to women. You've had to lock him in a box You-don’t-know-how-many-times before he finally learned his lesson. Also, the molting – when that happens, it’s a nightmare.
But on the other hand, he was pretty funny – pulling off stupid reptile puns (which I now use because why not?) on a bad day or just putting me in a fit of giggles when he tries to act all flirty.
“(Y/N)! Your first day of ssschool startsss in a few minutesss! Don’t make me come and hold your blanketsss hostage!” Sider said, looking at your clearly dozed-off form.
You suddenly felt the chilly air of doom and shot up – sending death glares to your Kwami.
“If you’d just wake up to your alarm… thisss wouldn’t happen...” Sider said, slithering on top of the alarm clock that you forgot to set after hastily dropping your source of warmth.
“Yeah, yeah… Don’t get your scales in a twist…” you said, hopping out of bed and shoving him in my bag to get dressed in the usual jeans, t-shirt, and combat boots ensemble.
After finishing getting dressed for the day, you grabbed the bag that Sider was in and slid down the staircase railing.
“Morning (Y/N).” Yourdad said, checking his phone for the news.
“Hey dad. I’m late so I’m just gonna head out and - ”
“And forget to go over the rules about your Miraculous with your father?” He said, putting down his phone.
“Um, may~be…” you said, slightly scooting away form the front door. Egh... This was going to be messy…
“Sit. I’ll get breakfast.” He said, bringing out a pan of eggs and some toast. Well, he was definitely expecting this…
You did what you were told to, and patiently waited for the lecture to begin.
“Rule number 1: Never tell anyone about your Kwami or your identity as a Miraculous.” He said, scooping up the fluffy eggs and setting them on the two plates before us. “Rule number 2: Never use your Snake Charmer ability unless absolutely necessary – you only have five minutes after you activate it.” He sat down in front of you, “And rule number 3?”
You closed your eyes and sighed, “Keep daddy informed of any Villains and allies as soon as they appear.”
“Good. Now, eat up and go – I don’t want you to be late on your first day in a Parisian school.” He said, finally beginning to eat.
You quickly finished the toast and eggs – doing an once-over on your outfit and school supplies before heading out the door.
Books? Check. Note-taking supplies? Check. Miraculous Bracelet?
You looked over at the golden, intricately scaled, green-jeweled bracelet.
Check.
You threw on a helmet and grabbed your bike, pedaling out of the driveway and into the bike path on the street.
~Time Skip to School brought to you by a sexy Chat Noir~
You jammed the bike into the parking rack and locked it – can’t be too careful when it comes to your one way of transport.
Suddenly, you spotted two girls – a brunette, and the black haired one obviously freaking out by the way she was stuttering.
“I can’t!”
“You will!”
“I can’t!”
“You Must!”
You walked up to them; thankful that you were able to learn French and understand it for the short time you were here.
“Um, can I help you?” you said, a little shy since you knew no one here.
The brunette looked at your direction and studied you for a second – and smiled.
“You must be the new girl – we’ve been wondering when you’d show up!” She said, shaking your hand. “My name’s Alya – Alya Césaire, and this -” she said, pulling over her blackette friend, “Is Marienette Dupain-Cheng.”
“Hello, I’m (Y/N).” you replied, putting the two girls’ names to memory. “Why is she stuttering? Is something wrong?” you asked, watching Marionette still be flustered.
“Marienette just has some boy troubles.” Alya said, watching Marienette blush tomato-red.
“Alya!” Marienette whined, hiding her face by the stone staircase wall, “You can’t just tell the new girl about my problems!”
You chuckled, “I promise not to spill a word. Besides, I’m looking to make friends – not trouble.”
Marienette smiled and lost her blush, “You can join us – we’d love to have a new friend! Besides, we could use another person in the Anti-Chloé group.” She said, motioning towards the incoming Beach-blonde.
“Something tells me she’s the stereotypical rich, sassy, daddy’s girl.” you said, remembering the rivalry you had back in America.
Alya nodded, “You’d better believe it. Her dad is the Mayor of Paris. And her assistant Sabrina isn’t any better than her.”
As if shining a beacon onto yourself – The diva and her loyal follower sashayed over to our location.
“So, you’re the new girl.” She said, hands on her hips and studying your form. “You look so drab – don’t you know those jeans are so last year?” She said, the insult bouncing off.
“Cool, but in America – these are the new trend. Sorry if international styles are out of your league.” you retorted. If she wanted a fight – the bitch was messing with the wrong girl.
“Who exactly do you think you are? My dad gets me the latest of Paris fashion!” She snapped.
“Sorry Missy – but surely you know the (L/n) Fashion Company? My Mother is the owner and head designer.”
Instantly Chloé’s jaw dropped and Sabrina’s fingers flashed over her tablet screen, “You – You’re (Y/N) (L/N)?”
You smirked in victory, “The one and only.”
Instantly Sabrina verified your identity – sending Ms. Princess into her “nice friend” mode.
Alya and Marienette were shocked – How did they not notice her? Would she still be their friend?
“Well, you must sit with us and talk (Y/N) – My father would love to meet such a famous person. And so would Adrien.” Chloé said, flashing me a sickly-sweet smile.
“Maybe a little later Chloé, ” you said, looking at Alya and Marienette and smiling, “I want to get to know some of the other students – I’d rather keep my identity subdued than have my mom’s fans flanking my sides for autographs.”
Chloé looked taken aback, but kept up her poorly made mask, “Of course! We’ll have to go to my place to chat a little more after classes. Sabrina, make sure today’s entire afternoon is clear for (Y/N) – I want no interruptions. "
The redhead flicked on her tablet’s screen a few times, “You have a meeting with Adrien right after school…”
“Clear it. I want her to be well welcomed to Paris. As much as I love Adri-kins, (Y/N) is of utter importance.” Chloé snapped, flipping her hair.
The bell began to ring and school was about to start in a few minutes.
“Well, I’m sure I’ll see you in class (Y/N) – We’ll talk later.” Chloé said, sashaying into the school.
You looked at the other two girls and looked down, “Looks like my secret’s out… I understand if you don’t want to be my friend…”
“Are you kidding me?” Marienette yelled, a wide smile graced upon her face and hugged me, “I’d LOVE to be friends with you! I’m a fashion designer myself – and I ADORE your mom’s work! You - you could give me some tips!” She said, helping me get to my first class – and thankfully, we were in the same ones!
I sat down on the bench behind my two new friends, a random girl sitting beside me.
“You could have kept quiet about thisss, (Y/N).” A munch paused the Kwami’s lecture. “Fame isss a fickle friend to deal with.” Sider whispered from my bag, probably pigging out on the chocolate I had saved for him.
Minutes later after all the classmates filed in, the teacher stood in front of the class.
“Students, today we have a new classmate.”
Oh no… Please don’t make me stand up…
“Now, She’s from America – so her French is a little rusty. Ms. (L/N)?”
The class’ eyes instantly turned towards me.
My throat felt like it was constricted, too many people… too many eyes watching…
“Y-yes?”
“If you could stand for the class and introduce yourself.”
I stood up, my knees on the verge of turning into jelly – if only I was able to introduce myself as Serpent Vert: my Miraculous – who was my far more outgoing alter ego, I would be able to live through these type of things.
“Hello, I’m Y-(Y/N) (L/N)... I-I look forward to meeting you all.” you stuttered, and your body quickly sitting back down on the seat behind you.
The teacher looked at you, obviously knowing your identity. But much to your relief, she didn’t push further.
“Mrs. (L/N), her mother, has requested that her daughter should not be hassled for information about her company – who is already doing much to support our school.”
Great, now they know that too…
“Now, let us begin our studies. Please turn to page 43 on your tablets and read about the French Revolution.”
~Time Skip to Lunch made possible by MariNath~
“Wow (Y/N)! I didn’t know you knew that much about the Revolution!” Alya said, sitting at a table.
“You’d be surprised… A lot of this stuff is just textbook knowledge in the US.” you said, pulling out a lunchbox.
How did that get in my bag?
Dad, you slippery little…
You opened up the box of deliciousness and –
“Whoa! How on earth do you eat all of that?” Marienette said, sitting beside you.
“My dad’s genes – a cast-iron void instead of a stomach. My mom has the ability to just eat and gain nothing – so I got the jackpot in the gene pool.” you said, nervously scratching the back of your neck.
“Nice - ” Alya looked over and nudged Marionette.
“Blonde Bae at 2:00 sharp.” She whispered to the two of us.
Immediately the Blackette hid behind a folder that Alya had on standby – dang, that’s preparedness level: Boy Scout.
Alya looked at you, and then in the direction of Mari’s bashfulness.
“Meet Adrian Agreste – Paris’s favorite hometown male model and also Mari’s lifelong crush since first sight.”
