It was like a penthouse. The interior was so sleek and majestic that I nearly lost my balance.

One part of the wall was covered with a big tv screen which showed every corner of the den. It took me a while to adjust to the setting.

The air in the huge room gave me a earthly feeling , reminding me of a pine forest. It was relaxing and soothing.

May be the air freshener?!?

I thought may be he likes the scent that's why he had that in his office.

But what truly stunned me was the scenery. A large open balcony with two double glass doors , viewed the most beautiful garden.

Every inch of the garden was covered with blood red roses. I absent mindedly walked towards the doors and looked down.

A soft breeze touched my heated skin and felt calm.

"Mate, do you like it?"

Of course who wouldn't.

But I was afraid to voice it like that.

"Yes , My Lord."

"Good. Now come here and sit down."

And with that he went to his large office desk and sat down on the intimidating throne like chair.

I followed him and pushed one of the smaller chairs to sit in front of him. He narrowed his eyes but ignored my act.

"Tell me. Who helped you to hide so long?"

Shit.. I knew he was going to ask..

"I am sorry My Lord.. But no one helped me.

I myself made the potion."

"Hmm.. Interesting.

So are you a witch my mate..

If so I have to call upon my Head Mage."

"No My Lord. I made it with the help of an ancient book. "

He smirked darkly and I wondered why..

" And from where did you find that ancient book?"

"Uhhh... Well..I found it in my home. It was passed down from generation to generation. "

"Do you have that book with you now my mate?"

"Uhh.. No My Lord. It's in my home."

"Good.

We will visit your home tomorrow to find it and destroy it.

The fucking thing helped you to hide from me for so long!"

"Oh please don't. I swear I will never do it again.

Please it's a family heirloom.."

And with that he stood up and charged towards me. I was afraid like shit and cursed myself for forgetting the barbarian's nature. With ease he scooped me up in his arms and went to his seat.

He sniffed my neck and nipped at it. I was afraid and disgusted. But kept my mouth shut.

"I should mark you my mate..

It's better to do it sooner than later.."

Oh no....

"Please My Lord give me some time. I am not ready for this.."

I squirmed and fought against his hold.

But his beefy arms restricted my movements.

He nipped at it one last time and looked directly in my eyes.

" Remember, I will give you no more time.

Only today. Tomorrow you will be marked and bonded. "

I was speechless.. Tomorrow.. Oh no I can't be mated to this barbarian. I have to escape..

But how..

My thoughts were cut short as the automatic voice ringed through the office.

"Sorry to interrupt you Lord Commander Chief, but you Privy awaits at your door. "

"Grant him permission."

"Permission granted. Door opening."

And with that the door opened to reveal a muscular man in his mid thirties. He was roughly handsome and had the same aurora of a wolf.

His pitch black eyes darted to me for a second before they settled into Lord's face.

"Greetings My Lord. What can I do for you?"

"Sit Privy. And do not look at my mate again. Avert your eyes or I will..

Now tell me did you find my mate's home?"

I gasped with shock and The Chief pinched my thigh warning me. I shut my mouth with hatred.

"Yes Lord Chief. And it won't happen again. My deepest apologies.

We located it. Our men are keeping an eye on it.

Nothing seems to be unusual."

That's because you are clueless fuckers idiot..

I was relieved and silently snickered. But it seems like The Lord was thinking differently.

"No. There should be something more to it. Keep watching it and monitor her father in work.

Understood?"

" Yes My Lord. Command is in motion."

"Good. Leave."

And with that he bowed to The Lord and went out.

"Why do you keep monitoring my father like a criminal?"

" because my mate, I am no fool and I know that there should be more to your story."

He darkly stated looking straight in my eyes and I audibly gulped.

Great!

After the dreadful meeting, he stood up with me in his arms. Then he settled me on my feet and led us both outside the office.

It was quite difficult to recognize where we were going and soon we stood infront of his chambers.

"Go inside my mate. I have some pack business to finish. We'll have dinner later.

And know that I am watching your every move!"

It was like a silent threat to not to escape. I merely nodded my head and went inside the chamber. My mind was racing with plans to escape.

There was plenty of time to escape also. Cause he won't come untill dinner.

But my thoughts were interrupted by a series of bangs. I poised myself quickly.

"Enter."

The double door opened revealing a rather younger woman. I was surprised as women were rare. She was wearing a blood red dress which was flowing around her.

She was much more beautiful. I watched as she entered the chambers like her own.

"Who are you.."

I asked with distaste. She was behaving like a queen and it was irritating to watch her act as this is her chambers.

I mean you are not supposed ro bang on a door like that right.. But she was having non of that manners.

"Me.. I am no one thanks to you.."

"What? What do you mean and why didn't the guards stop you?"

"Probably cause they knew better than that. Before you came I was going to be the queen. But you stupid ugly fat face stole my chances.

I wonder what he sees in a pathetic person like you!"

Great. A real bithcy ex. Just what I need!

"Listen here. I am not pleased either.

Why do you think I stayed behind the closed doors. Surely you must have some kind of sense to understand that I am not willing to be his anything."

"Huh. Such lies. I know about you. You want this. It's just you want to be the victim."

"Well if you are not going to listen to me at all , it's useless to explain to you about my situation. So please get out from the chambers."
