Chapter 1
"There's someone different."
That's the words Aayala had heard floating around the halls for the past week. She knew who they were talking about.
Her
They all said she was an alien. She wasn't.
As far as she knew.
It was the green hair she'd been born with apparently it wasn't natural, but she was 99% sure she was human. Just because she wasn't blonde like the popular girls doesn't mean she wasn't their species right?
While lost in her train of thoughts Aayala ran into her locker which she had been heading for. The pieces of green gum people had been sticking onto it for the past couple days stuck to hair. She dropped her biology book on her foot too.
"Shi..zerdoodle," She started to curse but when she felt the eyes of the freshman hall monitor on her she quickly paused and ended the word differently.
"Get to class boomer." The freshman called after her holding up her watch. The freshie looked ridiculous wearing the neon vest that made her look more like a traffic cone than some teacher's pet. Brunette traffic cone and the rest of her year thought it was funny to call the upperclassmen boomers like how they called them freshies, which was annoying considering the only ones who were actual baby boomers in this school was the secretary and the history teacher.
"Okay Freshie." Aayala said smiling while grabbing her textbook from the floor and walking to class forgetting her hair was still adorned with abc gum.
Before she headed to class Aayala headed to the bathroom to see the damage running into the locker would have on her face. She had a online meet and greet tomorrow for her novella, Beyond the Stars, and she didn't need a beaten up face for it.
While gazing into the mirror Aayala couldn't help but pull out her phone and open a new tab. She had this particular website saved in her bookmarks so she could access it easier.
Pale skin
Green hair
Perfect Complexion
Misshapen eyes.
Check, Check, Check and Check.
But that didn't mean anything right?
Some stupid article titled "how to recognize a alien in human form" Doesn't mean anything.
Right?
A/N

If you couldn't tell by reading my other books I stuggle to write longer chapter and I require myself to write at least 300 words per chapter or it's pointless.
