Chapter 10 (Edited)

There was a knock on my door, making my wolf ears flick back annoyed. The door opened and a small growl escaped my lips as I pulled tighter into a ball. I really didn't want to wake up.

"Em?" a voice asked, making me instantly open my eyes and to look into the green eyes of my younger sister. Her lips curled into a smirk. "Are you too tired that you even ignored Talu's poking?"

Confusion filled my body, while I studied Kate, my 14 year old sister. Calling her a beauty was an understatement. Her brown hair had curls on the ends, masking her perfectly heart shaped face. Jealousy filled my stomach, because I didn't like it how her eyes looked on her face. Mine, well, let's just say that they looked a little too huge for my face. I've been told that my eyes looked like deer= eyes, but then I got mad at them and I created havoc, by cussing them out.

I yawned and shook out my fur before shifting. Unlike other Werewolves, our clothes just seemed to disappear with our body, as we shift into wolf form and then they reappear again, when we shift into our human form. It might be because that we try to act civil with humans. Trying was really an understatement.

The Elder Alphas, from generations upon end, had placed on some rules that us "lucky" followers had to put up with. The rules consisted of not sitting with humans, not antagonizing with them, not speaking with them, and my least favorite, not helping them if they were getting bullied.

I protected the "underdog", even though it meant going against my great-grandfather's wishes and helping the humans out. That was just me.

Another thing that we usually had to disobey, was speaking to them, when we have group projects and there was an odd amount in one the groups. I would be the one that sat with the human, making sure that no one else would have to put up with them. I knew that some of them would just make the humans do all the work.

I could usually feel the glares of other Wolves, at the back of our heads. I knew that they would jump up, if the human tried to do anything with me. However, one glare from me, and they would back down.

"Ember," a voice said, while someone snapped under my nose. "Wakey, wakey. You can't be late."

I opened my eyes, even though I didn't know that I had closed them and found myself leaning against my desk. "Huh, sorry?" I asked, making it sound more like a question.

Kate looked at me weirdly. "You did have a really late night, didn't you? Were you talking with Dad? Is that why both of you are acting a little weird? What's going on?"

"Kate," I said to no anvil.

"Why would you two be acting weird? Are you planning on doing something that might hurt the pack? What's with all the secrecy? Can Chris and I know?"

"Kate," I said, rubbing the bridge of my nose.Thankfully, she was so full into her questions that she didn't know that I had flinched when she asked if it might hurt the pack, because, I think that it might hurt the pack.

"Did you two do it? If so, how was it? Was he dreamy like the way he looked? Are you two fully mates?"

"Kaitlyn Contre!" I exclaimed, making her look at me with a weird expression on her face. My face was beet red, because I got what she was talking about with the "two" of us. "Shut up for once, ok?" I heard some laughing in my ear and knew that our father was listening on to us. My face turned a shade darker red.

"No need to yell out my full name," she muttered, folding her arms across her chest and huffed. "I was just wondering if I can help."

"No, you can't help. It's not your place," I said. "No, Bane and I didn't do "it". We are not mates, and we still have to listen to our fathers. I have to wait until I turn twenty-one before I can do anything with him, making out wise."

Kate's face squished up in confusion. "But I thought that-"

"No, I have to wait until I'm 21. Not what you are thinking." I gave her a look to say shut up. "And now, I have to go. Can you tell Talu that I went to the forest and make sure that no one and I mean no one follows me." With that I stood up from my leaning position.

"Bu-"

"No buts, Kate," I said, letting a small bit of my Alpha tone come out. "I have to go alone. Can you please tell Talu?"

Her face dropped, and she looked down. "Yes, Alpha," she said, sorrow in her voice. She nodded her head in respect before she turned on her heels and walked out of my office.

What have I done?
