Chapter 2 (Edited)

"Well, isn't it the band of Misfit Toys. Are you trying to get yourself kicked out?" Judah asked, walking over with the other two men.

"Hello to you too, Judah," I replied, leaning back in my seat, so that the front two legs were not on the floor. "Care to introduce us to your... friends." It was more of a command than a question. I was going to be his boss when both of my parents were dead and Jack and his mate stepped down from Beta.

Judah gritted his teeth, annoyed, because he knew what I was thinking. He knew that  by that devilish smirk that I had on my face. "They are partners not friends," he said, glancing at the other two behind him, coldly.

"I see," I replied, still leaning back and glancing at them, momentarily. However, I turned my full attention back at Judah, because I knew that was who I had to worry about.

Judah leaned forward so that he was closer to my face. His rotten breath filled my nose, making me wrinkle it in disgust. "You better watch it, Girl. Or, you won't live to see your 19th birthday."

I moved my hand across my nose, telling Talu, Mal, and Cal not to move. I knew that if they did, then either Judah or I would be in wolf form and on top of the other person. "And you, my dear Warrior, better watch it before I make you into an Omega." There was warning in my tone, that the others could pick up.

Judah laughed and shook his head, finding what I had said rather amusing. "And why do you say that, when you will be dead?"

I raised an eyebrow but kept my temper in check. Me being dead? Didn't he know that I have fought and won most of my battles? He should know that, since my father had made him fight against me multiple times. I had won about half of the battles between him.

"And I hope that I didn't hear a death threat on my soon to be mate," a familiar voice said.

My heart leapt in joy. The voice belonged to the male that I was to spend the rest of my life with. I know that it sounds crazy, but Bane and I, unlike some other mates, have actually hung out with each other. Our mothers had been really good friends. Like Bane and I, they had been arranged to marry someone, but they didn't know who. Bane and I were arranged to be mated, because our fathers loathe each other, and it would make us one of the strongest packs in Maine.

Judah stood up and looked Bane straight in the eye. "I don't care what you heard." He quickly backed away from me, knowing that Bane would strike at any moment. Male wolves were possessive.

I looked backward and saw that Bane was looking at Judah. I could see the anger in his eyes, and he looked as if he was ready to kill him.

His deep gray eyes turned darker, as he tried and hold onto his anger. Bane seemed to tower over Markus, even though Markus was taller than him. Bane stood at 6'3, while Markus stood at 6'4 "What exactly did I hear? I am sure that my father would like to hear that you were threatening my soon to be mate," he said, his voice laced with hatred. He glanced at the two wolves behind Judah and one looked away quickly. "You get back to the house, Markus," he said, warning in his tone. "Don't make me fight you in front of all these people."

"Y-You'll get kicked out," the male, or Markus, said, trying not to flinch under Bane's hard glare.

"Yes, but it'll be totally worth it," Bane replied with a challenging smirk. "It'll also make you look more like a rabbit than you are right now."

Markus flinched, as if the thought of his reputation being spoiled. He stood about 6'4, so it was pretty weird for a tall wolf to be so nervous. He had black hair that was longer in the back than in the front. He also had brown eyes, that seemed to move everywhere. He glanced at Judah, who was still glaring at me and at Bane, before he turned tail and left.

I frowned, seeing a small something pass between Judah and Markus. There had been a nod in Markus's head, that was so small. Maybe this scaredy-cat act is just an act, I thought, frowning confused.

"Well, Judah," Bane said, his voice filled with mock patience. "Are you going to leave peacefully, with your other buddy, or are we going to have to fight. It looks like that Cal is prepared," he added, glancing at my packmate.

Judah glanced behind him and looked at the devilish smile of Cal. He glanced down at her hands to see that she was holding a small tranquilizer gun. It had been pointed at his behind, and now it was pointed on where it would hurt a male the most.

Cal shrugged her shoulder when she looked at me and saw my raised eyebrow. "What can I say? Sometimes wolves act very naughty and need to be put down," she said with an ice cold, sweetness, that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand.

Judah glanced at Cal and then at the weapon in her hands. He glanced around and could see that Talu was about to shift into wolf form if something had happened to me. Mal was relaxed, however it did look like that he was about to shift also.

While he was turned around to look at them, I took out my switchblade and had it pointed at the back of his neck. It would be at the front of his neck, when he turned around to look at me. I was waiting patiently, as if I was the cat, and he was the mouse.

Judah turned his attention back to me and went cross-eyed, seeing the blade that was pointing straight at his throat. He looked me in the eye, before he looked down at the blade. "You wouldn't dare," he said, his voice quivering to show his nervousness.

I shrugged my shoulder. "It would be worth it," I replied, using the same thing that Bane had said earlier.

Judah kicked his leg out and my seat shot out from under me, since he had kicked one of the back legs. "Get a life," he growled, before he walked away. "And don't watch me," he added over his shoulder, before he left the bar.

I fell backwards and dropped my knife. I was flailing, startled because I knew that I couldn't get back up. However, I did try to lean a bit forward, but that was a pretty hard kick. However, the good thing was, I got caught by someone before the chair fell over backwards.

I looked up to see that Bane had caught my seat. His gray eyes had turned lighter, knowing that I was safe. There was a grin on his boyish face, while his hair fell into his face. Bane was handsome, even though he looked young. He stood about 6'3, and he had muscles. All and all, we were a perfect match for each other.

"Now, where do you think you are going, Emmy?" he asked, setting my seat back right.

"Well, for one thing, it would be to pick up my knife that I had dropped.Thank you very much." I stooped over and grabbed my knife, before I closed it. I quickly stuffed it in my pocket, not wanting anyone to see me with it out.

Bane's smirk deepened, while he pulled a seat from another table, closer to ours. "So, what is with him, anyways?" He glared at the door in dislike, not liking Judah one bit. "He's been acting like that for a while now."

I shrugged my shoulder, not knowing what was happening. "Don't know, but I'm going to have to ask my father. I'm sure that he knows that something is up."

That was the worst mistake that I had ever made in my life.
