Kit
Kit's POV:
"B-but he can't be back, the Guardians and I defeated him." Ember said. Kit smiled sheepishly and raised her hand.
"What?" Ember asked.
"The guardians are immortal... Correct?" Kit asked.
"Correct," Ember said slowly.
"Sooo... Their enemy must be immortal too! Correct?" Kit asked again. Ember looked rather confused.
"Correct again... Are you going somewhere with this or is it just a bunch of random questions?" Ember asked. She was irritated and quickly losing her patience.
"Yeah... You can't kill an immortal. Good or evil," Kit replied with a little head nod.
Ember's POV:
"Yeah... You can't kill an immortal. Good or evil," the girl, Kit, said; which made me even more irritated.
"Not if you're a... you know what, never mind!" I yelled before storming off. I didn't want to talk about it. I COULDN'T talk about it.
After a while I sat down and cried. I missed how it used to be. I missed home, even if my mother and I never got along. I missed not having much of a care of the world. I wanted it all back. But then again, I wouldn't have Jack, I wouldn't have the guardians. But... I would have her back. No! I couldn't be thinking about her at the moment. It hurts too much still.
Kit's POV:
Kit looked slightly shocked as Ember stormed out of the room.
"What did you do that for!?" a girl yelled.
"Yeah. What's your problem!?" the red eyed girl yelled in agreement. Kit froze, narrowing her eyes at the girl, before turning on her heel and storming out of the door after Ember.
"Where are you going!" the girl yelled after Kit, springing in front of her. As Kit went to jump around her she pushed her by accident so that she fell.
"Hey come back!" The girl yelled, trying to get back on her feet.
"Sorry..." Kit mutters, but continues. In the door, as she runs past the protector giving her a little head nod, telling her that this is the right thing to do. Out in the hallway Kit turns left and storms off in the same direction as Ember.
"I have to apologize..." was the only thought in her head.
After running for a while she heard sobs not far away. She stopped and listened. The sobs had stopped.
"Ember?" Kit call out questioningly.
Ember's POV:
I stopped crying when I felt an evil presence nearby.
I heard Kit call out my name from the other direction. She probably thought that I was angry with her.
I still couldn't shake the feeling of something evil. It wasn't Pitch, it didn't have the same feeling. I looked around. I got up and slowly walked toward it, trying to stay calm.
Caia's POV:
Oww... That was the only thought running through my head as I woke up with my head pounding and people yelling.
Wait.
Woke up?
I didn't even remember falling asleep.
Oh wait, no. I passed out.
Pieces started to come together as I remembered what happened.
The girl pushed me, I got really mad, my hands started glowing, water came out of nowhere, I collapsed.
The middle part is still what confuses me.
I decided to lay still with my eyes closed, listening to the conversations around me.
"...so if he's back what do we do?"
Who?
"...that's why you're here. To figure it out." That sounded like the Proctector. When did he get here?
"...Isn't that the guardian's job?"
"...yes but-"
Everyone was quiet, I wonder why? And that's when I realized that I had opened my eyes. Wow, I'm either really stupid or still really out of it.
"Caia...?" Crystal was sitting above me, her pale green eyes boring into mine.
"What happened?" I tried sitting up but my head pounded even harder so I laid back down.
"You passed out..."
I looked around and saw everyone staring at me, the girl with the red eyes garing. The Protector was there and he was walking towards me.
"Miss Caia, I believe you have just discovered some of your many powers."
Okay now I'm confused.
Powers?
"What do you mean?" I tried to sit up again but head pounded and a wave of eshaustion plowed into me once again, threatening my consciousness.
The Protector put a hand firmly on my shoulder, "Rest child, so much power used at the same time without proper training can be dangerous."
"Who were you all talking about?"
"Rest child." He put the same hand that was on my shoulder on my forehead and I heard his words repeating again in my mind as a fuzzy feeling overtook me and my eyes slipped shut once again.
Kit's POV:
"Ember...!" I called out again. Where was she? I walked a little further towards where I heard the sobs. I turned a new corner to see Ember slowly walking in the other direction. Where was she going? I followed after her slowly, trying to be soundless. After walking for some time we came to a crossroads. I stopped to see which way Ember took, but she stopped as soon as she came to the middle of the crossroads. Ember looked down the three new ways. To my luck she didn't look back the way she had come from. If she had, she would have seen me.
Suddenly footsteps echoed through the corridor. From where I stood I couldn't hear from which direction the footsteps came. But I'm sure Ember could, because she turned so that she was facing the corridor straight ahead.
Walking casually down the corridor came a man. He stopped as soon as he saw us, looked around and smirked at us.
"And what are you two doing?" He asked moving a bit closer. The man looked like he was in his early twenties.
As he said two Ember looked back to see me stranding behind her. I waved slightly and walked up to her.
"We could ask you the same?" Ember said suspiciously. I looked at the man. He had black hair and neon blue eyes.. But something about his face seemed familiar...
"Oh.. Sorry for not introducing myself. I'm Chaos and I work as an assistant for the Protector," the man, Chaos, answered, sending me and Ember what I think is suposed to be a friendly smile.
"I'm Ember and that's Kit," Ember said, pointing at me when she said my name.
"Ember and Kit..." Chaos said, looking at each of us.
"And what are you doing here?"
"We are here as the Protectors guests," Ember answered.
Shouldn't he know if the Protector has guests? Then something hit me...
He's lying!
"Your lying..." I whisper, not able to keep my little discovery to myself.
Tigerlily's POV:
Right after the Protector made Caia-I think-fall asleep again, an odd feeling swelled up inside of me. It wasn't the odd feeling from my communication skills right now, it was just odd...
"What happened?" someone asked, staring at the water covered floor. Willow explained briefly while I paced back and forth in front of my bed.
That feeling... I always got it whenever the Hawks came to bully me. But this felt different...
As I pondered a hoot came from my left. It was a small white owl. What's an owl doing here anyway?! Well anyways, the small owl sat curtly on the edge of my book, staring its enchanting little eyes into my own.
Then without warning, the small owl gripped the giant page and turned it. A picture of a man with jet black hair and neon eyes was drawn on with detail. A sinister smile was suppressed on his face as shadows seemed to surround him and cover him up like a blanket. Below the picture was a name, but the handwriting on it was very faint.
ۈ{}$
It seemed like various people had written on it, but that was all I could make out. I glanced up, and the owl was gone.
That was strange, yet cool. Normally owls are symbolozed as wise animals. So maybe this was a good sign.
"Ugh that feeling!!" I muttered, it came out in Arabian. The feeling was now clawing up my throat. The bad news: It felt like needles were piercing through my skin. My hand clasped my throat as I tried to calm myself.
"Just keep walking. Just keep walking."
While everyone was listening to Willow explaining what had happened, I walked to the doorway, which was covered in a mural that reminded me of Rapunzel's paintings from the movie. But stopped when a voice called.
"Where the heck do you think your going!?" I turned back to the owner of the voice. It was Red Eyes.
Gripping onto my throat I turned away and started walking. Maybe this was the same direction Ember and Kit took? Maybe not....
Red Eyes followed me, trying (or should I say forcing me in a way) to get me to come back so I could listen to her yell. The halls seemed too narrow, and I felt uncomfortable. Small places aren't my favorite places to be.
Just as I passed a hall I heard a voice to my right, my ninja skills caught the best if me. Yes, I said ninja Skills. My parents made sure I was able to defend myself, but every time the Hawks or someone come at me I just freeze. Curse my self consciousness. Here's what my ninja skills did.
My arms reached out and covered Red Eye's rambling mouth, and she froze. A look of shock. But before she could pull it away I pushed her against the wall. I stood, staring at her dead in the eye, then put my first finger on my lip. Indicating for her to shut it. She understood. Then I stood next to her. When the voice came again we pressed ourselves deeper into the wall. My heart pounded, and my throat seemed to have more needles going through my skin.
"You're lying." A whisper echoed in my ears.
Ember's POV:
"Your lying," Kit whispered next to me. I knew it!
I made a fire ball and threw it at him. I stormed over. "What are you really doing here?" I snapped.
He chuckled an evil chuckle before disappearing. I growled in anger. I had to get away from everyone else, I wasn't safe to be around when angry.
I stormed off, Kit calling out to me, asking me where I was going. I heard her footsteps as she came after me. I made a fire wall to keep her from me. She gasped in shock but stopped.
I kept going, my powers were getting worse by the second. I wished that I hadn't sent Jack away, he always knew how to calm me down. I missed him.
I just wanted to go back to my friends. Rapunzel is so sweet. Hiccup, so funny and awkward. Merida, stubborn and strong. Even Elsa, though I still think that she flirts with Jack, which makes me angry. Yes, I am the jealous type. Jack just laughs and kisses me on the cheek whenever he sees me being jealous. And that girl from before... Tigerlily right? I have my eye on her. I still think that she likes MY boyfriend. If she talks to him again then she'll be BBQ.
Tigerlily's POV:
The needles worsened as Ember shouted at that man, he looked so much like Chaos from my book. Seconds later the area started to heat up, which didn't help my situation at all.
Red Eyes casts me a glance, not a mischeavious one she always does. This was fear. By the looks of it she didn't like where this was headed.
"I'm gonna go get someone," she whispered. The she ran down the hallway. I stayed put, unsure of whether to follow her or not. But it was useless, attempts at communication were pointless for me.
So I decided to walk around and see what happened, considering the yelling stopped. As soon as I turned a corner Ember was there, she seemed to be trying to calm herself down. She was facing one of the portraits. It was of Jack Frost, Hiccup Haddock, Merida Dunbroch, and Rapunzel Corona. They were all grouped together. Merida was putting Jack in a head lock, Jack was trying to reach for his staff, but failing. Rapunzel was painting Hiccup's face while he was trying to calm the two down.
Ember must've heard me rub my neck more, because she perked up and looked in my direction.
"What do you want?" she asked bluntly.
I didn't answer, but stared at her then at Jack from the portrait. She didn't seem to like it though.
"Listen, if you don't want anything then leave me alone! And stay away from Jack!" What!? She thinks I like him!?
Okay... let's try this again...
I tried my hardest to think American.
Baseball.
Football.
Presidents.
Eagles.
HOT DOGS!!!!
"Are... are you alright?" English. It came out in English!
She scoffed, and turned to look at me.
"I'll be fine if you stay away from Jack, he's mine."
"You-wait. You think I like him?"
She walked a bit closer, with a death glare on her face. I edged backwards. "Why else would you be talking to him like that? It's obvious."
"I just-just talked to him like that because I didn't want him to hurt Destiny."
Her red eyes seemed to fill with anger. They looked like they were in flames. "He wouldn't hurt anyone."
"Then why did he freeze her to death when she was only-"
"THAT DOESNT MATTER!" She shrieked. She then tried to calm herself. Ember rubbed her temples, and then spoke quietly, "If I ever see you talking to him again..." Ember paused, the room heated up more. It was getting harder for me to breathe.
Suddenly a wall of fire burned on the floor around me. Ember looked at me, then ran away. The flamed seemed to have licked my skin as they rose up to my height. My first reaction was to take off my duffle bag and throw it away just as the walls passed my chin. I wanted to scream; I'm afraid of fire. Especially after what happened to-what happened to... Immediately I sat down and cried, mentally begging for it to stop.
Kit's POV:
I stood in front of the fire wall. Note to myself... fire powers are affected by feelings. I turned around and ran down another corridor. After turning a few times I stood on the other side of the fire wall. Despite that Ember clearly wanted to be alone, I decided to find her. It's not a good idea to be alone when there is a questionable teleporter loose. Fire powers or not. I ran down the corridor trying to find Ember through the giant maze of corridors. I kept having this weird sensation of being followed, but no matter how many times I looked over my shoulder I couldn't see any one.
Ember's POV:
No, no, no! I'm loosing control again, shoot! This wouldn't be happening if Jack were here. Grr!
I heard footsteps following me. Please don't catch up, please don't catch up! Why does this stuff happen to me!
'OK Ember, calm down.' It's not working. Man, I wish that Jack were here, he'd know how to calm me down.
He would never have frozen that girl, those were warning shots, telling her to back off. He froze her legs and hands to stop her from hurting us and herself. He wouldn't let that go too far unless she made the first move. How is that his fault?
I hate that Tigerlily girl, she insulted him AND flirted with him! In front of ME!
Fire was surrounding me in a protective circle. I could still here footsteps. I kept thinking, 'Calm down, it's all OK, just calm down.'.
I hid outside. Outside of the fire circle were tall bushes that hid me from sight. I just wanted to be alone.
I heard an evil chuckle, one that I've heard before.
"No. It can't be," I whispered, my eyes widening.
Then I realized something, I had felt the fear in Tigerlily. No matter how much I hated her, I hated him more. And I couldn't let her fear fuel him.
I got up and began to run back as quick as I could. I ran past Kit, who looked at me, shocked, and started to follow. She was probably the one who had been following me.
I finally got to Tigerlily, who was shaking in fear and crying. I ran over, put the flames out, and put a hand on her forehead, putting her into a dream and chasing away the fear.
She was sound asleep in my arms. I wasn't going to risk waking her up at the moment. I didn't want her to go right back to being a fuel source for Pitch.
I'll have to call on the guardians, they need to be aware that Pitch and a new threat are on the rise.
