Chapter 20
Luke's POV
"What do you mean Ash?" I asked him, getting nervous.
"I just got a text from Matt, our manager, saying we are leaving tomorrow after our gig", he told me.
Suddenly my world went blank. This was my last day with Christina. I was leaving tomorrow. For L.A.. That was the other side of the country. I knew this day was coming, but it didn't have to come so soon. They could have waited a little bit longer. We were supposed to stay here for 2 more weeks. But now Matt had to change the plans. I didn't want to go. I didn't want to be apart from Chris. And I knew she was going through a lot. I had to be here for her. Now she had to deal with it on her own. This was the one time in my whole life I wished I wasn't in a band. This way I could be with her through her bad times. She was an amazing girl and deserved a guy who could be here for her. And she had to go home now, because she had nowhere else to go but there. I knew how much she hated having to go back home. I could see it in her eyes now as I was staring at her. She was heartbroken. As was I.
"What? Why?" I almost yelled.
The other boys were looking at me. I saw the sympathy in their eyes. They knew how much Chris ment to me. And how much it had to hurt to be away from her. The thought was painful enough.
"Something about recording straight away. We have to do a lot."
"Damn.." I whispered.
Chris took my hand and I looked at her.
"Let's go back to your room", she told me.
We got up and went back to the room. I needed to be alone with her. To talk and say goodbye. I had been so excited for that gig tomorrow. Because Chris could see us play for the first time since I knew her. I even had a song I wanted to dedicate to her. But now I dreaded the stupid concert.
"It's alright", she told me as we sat down on the bed.
"No it's not. You are going through a rough time and I will be across the fucking country. I hsould be here with you. And now you have to move back to that place you hate to go. All because I have to leave.." I told her.
She grabbed my head between her hands and looked me in the eye.
"You have supported me so well. You have been great. I will have to deal with my problems a bit sooner now, but it's for the best. And we can Skype and stuff. So it will be like you never left. Everything is going to be alright", she told me with a stern look.
Her eyes softened and she looked at me with honesty. I loved when she did that. She was always so honest to me. I could never even picture her lying to me.
"You deserve someone who will be here for you, to hold you when you need him to.."
"You are everything I ever wanted, Lucas", she told me with a tear in her eye.
I kissed her then. I needed to. I could see the pain in her eyes when she told me. I was everything she wanted. How could I live up to that when I was across the country? How could I be perfect for her when I wasn't even in the same timezone? I needed to feel her lips on mine, to reassure me that it was okay. How would I be able to survive without her kisses? I wished she could come with me. But I knew she had to finish school. That was the most important thing here. Maybe afterwards whe could come with me and tour the world. If she even wanted to.
"Don't worry", she whispered.
We laid ourselves back on the matress and fell asleep. It felt so good falling asleep next to her. And she brought me good dreams. They always involved her.

Christina's POV
I had told him it would be alright. But deep down inside I knew I was lying. I had to go back home where my 'parents' lived. I hated the thought of that. I'd rather go with Luke and the boys. I needed Luke to support me. But he would be across the country and there was nothing we could do about it. Maybe when exams were over I could follow him there. But that was still a month away. It was going to be a sad month. A month without Luke making me laugh and kissing him. I was going to miss everything about him. He was so perfect to me. And I couldn't believe I told him he was everything I ever wanted. He didn't say it back tho. That hurt a bit. I really liked the idea of me being that to him too. But maybe I just wasn't. Maybe I was just someone he liked now. And when he was across the country he would find someone else. I really had no clue.
He was still fast asleep. I was just lying there. Thinking it all over. The more I thought about it, the more I hated him leaving. I was dreading this awful moment. I was mad at the world. I finally found my prince and now he had to leave. Story of my life. How long had I dreamt about meeting 5sos? How long had I imagined Luke being my boyfriend? Why was everything always taken away from me? Now I was an even bigger mess than before. With all the shit of my parents. It was overwhelming me. I needed to get some air. I got out of bed and ran out onto the balcony. When I felt the mild May air against my skin I felt more in control. I looked up and saw lights. They weren't stars, but lights of the buildings surrounding us. Above me was the moon. I looked up at it. I loved the moon. It looked so mysterious. I mostly wrote my songs while looking at the moon. When you looked at it you could see all your secrets. I felt a lot calmer at that moment. I made the mistake of looking down. I saw people standing and taking pictures. I felt the tightness in my chest coming back again. I ran back into the room and slammed the slide door shut. It was so loud Luke woke up.
I let myself slide to the ground against the window. I didn't know what was hapening. I felt like I couldn't breathe. The room was spinning and I couldn't get a grip on myself. My breathing sped up and I grabbed my legs. I need to hold something. All the sounds were muffled. I was going insane.
Finally I could hear Lukes voice coming through. I felt like coming back to earth.
"Christina! Chris?" he yelled franticly.
I looked up at him and my eyes full of tears. I hadn't realised I had been crying too. What was wrong with me? I whiped away my tears and looked back at Luke. He looked really worried. The crease between his brow was so deep. I saw worry in his eyes. He put his hand around me and pulled me in for a hug.
"Shhhtt, it'll be alright", he cooed me.
How did he know? I felt safe in his hug. It was what I needed. But this wasn't right. I was sobbing again. Crying like a little baby. I felt so aweful. I couldn't stop. Luke sat down next to me against the window and just put an arm around me, pulling me towards him. I layed my head on his shoulder and cried on. What was wrong with me? I felt like I was dying inside. Luke just gently stroked my hair and whispered sweet words to me. It helped a bit.
After half an hour I calmed down a bit. I went to sit in Lukes lap. I wanted to be as close to him as I could. He helped me and hugged me tightly. I still wasn't okay, but I was getting there. I was trying to get back to me old self.
"Chris, can you tell me what happened?" he asked me gently.
"I-i-i-i... I don't know.." I told him in all honesty.
"Tell me what you were doing", he told me.
"I was feeling a tightness in my chest so I went to get some air. It was getting better but then I looked down and saw all these people taking pictures of me and I felt the tightness come back. I came back inside and the rest you know.." I told him.
"I think you had a panic attack.."
"What? Why?" I looked up at him and he was still looking worried.
"I don't know, maybe you feel like you're in a cage?"
"I don't know.. Everything that has happened.. You leaving.. It was just too much I guess."
He pulled me in for another hug. I felt the beating of his heart and his breathing on my hair. It was so soothing. I hugged him tighter. I wanted to feel every inch of him against me. He was so important to me.

Luke's POV
I paniced when I saw Christina like that. She was crying and breathing so fast. I could see she was struggeling to keep it all together. Afterwards she was just sobbing. I had no clue about what to do. It was the first time I had seen anyone have a panic attack. It had been so scary. I knew me leaving wasn't good at all. And now I had proof. I was broken. Seeing her like that broke me into a thousand little pieces. It only made leaving so much more worse. The aching in my chest grew by every sob.
"It's all going to be alright Chris, I know so", I told her with a little bit of confidence.
"How do you know?" she asked me with big eyes.
She looked like a little girl. She needed me to reassure her that we were going to be alright. That everything with her parents were going to be alright. I knew she needed me. And here I was on my last night in NYC. It only made me sadder.
"I just do. Look, I know you are strong and you will get through this, we will get through this. I will help you whenever I can.." I told her with my whole heart.
"Okay, I believe you", she whispered.
She laid her head against my chest and steadied her breathing. My head was doing overtime. Trying to process what the hell just happened. I knew we were just dating and all. But I didn't know if I should ask her to be my girl before I went to L.A.. That was just cruel for her. To be bound to someone who wasn't even going to be here. I didn't want her to feel like that.
"Let's go to the boys yea?" she asked me out of the blue.
"Okay babe, whatever you want", I told her with a little smile.
We got up and she went into the bathroom to refresh. I wish I knew what to do about all of this. She was such an amzing girl and deserved so much better than a guy who couldn't be here for her. That's when she got back out and flashed me a big smile. I loved seeing her smile. She had an amazing smile to begin with. She walked over to me and kissed me deeply before turning away from me and walking outside the door.
Then it struck me. They took pictures of her? Standing on my balcony with only a top and shorts on. This was going to be all over the internet. I hated this. As if she didn't have enough to worry about.
"Luke, come on!" she screamed and I followed her outside the room.
