Chapter Six~Kar-kar

I woke up to strange smells and blackness.

Well, not anymore. I could still see, only everything is black or grey and a little fuzzy.

Three things were different.
1; I was not in the kennel, but now lying on a cushion thing.
2; It looked like I was in a kitchen type room, with very strange smells coming out of a pot on a shelf.
3; I was very high above the ground. The cushion I was on was actually the top of a cat tree.

I slowly hobbled to my paws, trying to ignore my stomach.

Groan. How long was I out? It feels like I haven't eaten in 2 days I'm so hungry!

I carefully walked towards the edge, not trusting my body to be fully awake yet.

I peeked over the edge and saw four more little houses and two attached to the side.

I heard small thumps coming from the door; heavy footsteps. I twitched my ears towards the door and heard soft murmurs; "Has she eaten yet?"

"No."

"Drank?"

"No."

A little louder; "Is she even awake?"

"No."

"Ugh. Your just like T'Cap! So she hasn't woken up, and now you can't go in the kitchen because she's in there?"

"The light might wake her up! I have to make a good impression!" I recognized Tazan's voice.

"So your starving yourself? Wait a moment... where'd Kar-kar go?"

I heard some more footsteps and soft calling.

I sat back and thought.

Kar-kar... I've heard that before! It's Taran's other pet! I caught myself thinking; well, I'll be a better one!

I shook my head. I was no ones pet! I'm getting out of here as soon as I can.

Wham!

Something hit my back and knocked me to the ground. There was something pressing down on my shoulders and haunches.

"You!"

"Me?" I meowed, thoroughly confused.

"Yes you! You vile, disgusting... pure!"

I managed to wriggle and look at what's talking. I gaped at what I saw.

"Carlos?"

It was a cat that looked just like Carlos. A long, sleek, shiny cat was standing on top of me, but as I examined him, things were different. His eyes were red, with small slits for pupils, very much looking like Voldemort's eyes from Harry Potter. He had splotches of grey on his belly. And while I was looking at him, he suddenly opened a pair of large, white, wings.

"Who is Carlos? Another pure?" He bared his teeth.

He climbed slowly down from on top of me, narrowing his red eyes.

"So...um...what's your name?" I tried to make conversation.

"My master calls me Kar-kar."

"Ok...um, well-"

"Did you hear that? It sounds like Kar-kar!" An excited voice from the hall cut me off.

"Definitely." Another voice confirmed, "But how'd he get in there?"

Kar-Kar's head shot up. He took a deep breath and walked towards me. I slowly backed up into the wall, he pinned me with his eyes and his body.

"You're female." He meowed, as if this was the most surprising thing in the world. He licked his nose and opened his wings, surrounding me.

The door creaked open, the light hesitantly turned on. "Kar-kar? How is that possible?" Tazan's voice whispered, "what is he even doing?"

Another alien, Sakari, pushed through the door, saw us, and laughed a booming laugh. "Look! He recognized she's female!"

I jumped over Kar-kar's head and nearly landed on his body.

Hmph. That was rude!

Kar-kar turned.

Tazan bustled into the room and picked up Kar-kar. Kar-kar struggled ferociously.

"This is the first time he has ever struggled! Look how anxious he is to get to the female! Ha!" Tazan snorted.

I shook my head slightly and managed to jump to the house below me, I clambered into the small circle door. I could still hear them talking.
