CASSIDY

"Logan, seriously, shut up," I say, flicking away his hand that is remotely trying to poke me.

"Dang it, Cass you think I know anything about this sh*t?" he asks, trying to peek at my answers.

A brilliant idea runs in my brain, and I smile at the very thought.

"Here, look at all my answers!" I beam, handing over the notebook. He takes no time waiting and scribbles down equations and sums.

"Just make sure my answers are actually correct," I whisper, as he eyes me weirdly. He curses under his breath and begins pestering Dylan for the answers. If Logan doesn't know it, I don't think the famous Dylan Grant will either.

If you hadn't noticed, Logan is not the only one who is constantly bothering me at this very instant. Fall is watching my every move like a predator stalking its prey, along with a few nosy girls who get scolded by the teacher once in a while. Dylan is chatting non stop with Gavin, and Alaine is continuously tugging my arm to tell me about this cute boy she's seen.

I on the other hand, am on the brink of loosing my mind. Why, just why was I brought to a class that had to include all of these human beings? It's bad enough that I'm having difficulty with Math, I do not get why I have to be badly punished like this.

"Cassidy French! The answer!" the teacher's voice booms through the classroom, taking me away from my daydreams. The rest of the class isn't looking; so I assume that I haven't done enough to publicly humiliate myself. Yet.

"Er, sorry what was the question again, sir?" I ask shyly.

He buzzes on and on about senseless things, leaving me flabbergasted. Not in a good way. Remind me again of how letters had to creep their way in to numbers.

I shrug sheepishly, as his scornful eyes dart away and find a different victim.

"Pay attention next time," he scolds in annoyance. Logan, Dylan, Gavin, AND Alaine laugh in unison. Ugh.

Instantly, a hand rises up the air, the arm belonging to a girl with hair of auburn in a perfect braid.

"Ah yes, Ms. Hilton, Principal Betha was a good one with Mathematics, I presume you must know the answer!" Mr. Campbell declares, showing plain ol' favoritism.

"Sir, is it ax squared plus bx plus c?" she asks innocently, as Mr. Campbell laughs.

"Ah child, no it is not! But solve it more on your notebook and read your book, I bet that you'll absolutely understand it, dear," he chuckles, petting Fall's head.

I wouldn't be any bit surprised if that loony had a crush on Principal Bertha. Well, they do look good together.

The bell rings abruptly, making me grin as I shove my notebook and calculator inside my bag. I wait for the other people file out the room before I go out myself. Yeah, yeah, I'm a lazy woman I get it.

"Hey Princess!" a voice exclaims, just a few decibels close to yelling.

A high pitched scream escapes as I cover my mouth in shock. I stare at the boy who just knocked the living daylights out of me, that monster being oblivious to the very true fact that I could have had a heart attack.

"Hi Cass, where ya goin'?" he asks casually. I stalk away in irritation, but Logan walks alongside me anyways.

I open my locker, and store all my stuff neatly, blue eyes still staring at me.

"Really aren't going to stop gawking there, are we?" I ask, mentally surprised at how that turned out. I didn't intend for it to sound like that!

"Nah, just for all the times your eyes were always locked on me," he chuckles. My eyes widen and I clutch my phone tightly, heart beating a billion times faster.

Logan notices my uncomfortableness and has the nerve to laugh at the very sight! He adores seeing me like this, doesn't he!

I saunter off to the cafeteria, Logan still beside me.

"Why are you such in a bad mood today?" Logan wonders out loud. Well, I could give you one whole novel.

"Well I dunno, there was this idiot who kept asking me for questions in math I don't even know the answers to?" I say, eyes searching for my friends.

"Just that?" he aks, pouting.

"No! Dylan and Gavin are super noisy, Alaine is gushing about a crush she has, and Fall is giving me glares way too much!" I burst out, not even half finished with my rants.

"Well, get used to it princess, life is like that," he utters, chuckling lightly.

"Ugh, where are my friends anyway?" I complain, now trying to text my best friend who has just completely deserted me. Logan scans over the canteen to help me out, but they are nowhere to be found. I grit my teeth and try to calm down. Something bad will always happen when I'm in a bad mood, and I have issues with trying to control my temper.

Relax Cass, relax, school is a wonderful place with sunshine and flowers. Relax.

"Wanna sit in our table?" Logan suggests. If those pesky girls are nowhere to be found and have forgotten just who I am. . .

"Fine," I say, as a smile creeps up to Logan's face.

We near the long table together, as I see Dylan and Gavin in conversation with a few guys, Fall talking to the two girls I saw yesterday, and. . . my friends?!

I smack the girls in the shoulders. I shouldn't be annoyed, but this is just surprising. How the heck?

"Oh hey Cass!" Alaine says, pulling me down to the seat right next to her. I drop my lunch tray on the table as it makes a thud and attracts a bit of attention.

"How did you four get here?" I ask curiously.

"Don't you remember! I told you all about Jack awhile ago!" she whispers, tilting her head to the person in front of us. I rack my brain; Jack was the boy Alaine found so cute. He's talking to his friends right in front of us. I get why Alaine likes him; typical pretty boy who likes sports.

"How?" is all I manage.

"Well, weird story. Since you didn't leave the classroom early, I met Camille in the hallway, and we talked and talked, and then Jack suddenly bumped into me. He knows that Camille's parents own the school and stuff, so he asked us to sit with them," she finishes, a faint patch of red sprouting in her face.

Frankly, it's peculiar that me and Alaine are total besties when she can fall so quickly and be immediately attached to a guy. And I on the other hand, am the strange girl that I am. I can stand boys and be friends with them, but when chemistry comes in, the coldness comes in and you'd wished you never hit on me. Everything comes so easy to Alaine; she gets everything effortlessly that I could laugh at how unreal her life seems.

I shrug it off and eat my food quietly, observing the people here. I'm a total ambivert. Sometimes I am the noisiest person ever and doing the craziest things; but I love books and sometimes I just wanna lock myself inside my bedroom watching some YouTube. Logan is right in front of me, until I see a figure with brown eyes sit next to him.

"Hi Cass!" Gavin chirps, flashing one of his his priceless smiles which I return. Logan visibly stiffens but says nothing.

"Not in the mood for lunch?" he laughs, sensing that I'm just blowing bubbles up my straw like a fool.

"No," I frown, finally pushing away the tray. Gavin opens his mouth to reply, but when Logan cocks his head in his direction, he stands up and smiles at me before leaving.

I bow my head in the table in utter blankness. I am so not in the mood for school, and it's just the second week of classes.

"Need a ride home?" a voice coos as I walk out the school doors. Alaine is currently stalking Jack with Camille, Lauren, and Skylar, and I am not much in the mood of seeing her make puppy eyes over a boy.

"Well, I'd say yes but I wouldn't want to be murdered by the age of seventeen because of your fangirls," I chuckle, ignoring the crowd of women deadpanning me.

"Jealous much?" he asks.

"Why in the world would I be jealous?" I ask, dipping my head so he wouldn't notice my now red cheeks.

But eventually, he sees and bursts into five pure minutes of laughter. And I decide that I don't like Logan Chase anymore, I hate him so much.

JOKING! That won't seem to happen in a long long time.

Logan opens the door to his black car, letting me get inside.

"Ooh, since when did you have manners?" I say, surprised at how he's acting like a gentleman.

"Be happy will you, I'm not cassnapping you," he responds, steering out of Meadows High.

"Huh. That's a change. Are you maybe a twin brother of Logan or something?" I ask, making him mutter some stuff under his breath.

Once I enter my house and hear the distant rumbling of Logan's car steer away, only then do I smile and have a conversation with my subconscious mind. I'm not really fighting it anymore, I'm okay with being friends.

RIGHT? Right.

I walk up to my room, a smirk still sewn to my face, doing my homework. I feel like taking one of my dogs, carrying them, and play princess in a masquerade ball dancing around my bedroom.

My happiness is broken by the time the tune of Sit Still Look Pretty by Daya plays and I grunt as I answer the phone.

"Hello?"

"AHHHHHH!!!!" a high pitched scream erupts, giving me a slight headache.

"What in the world, woman?!" I yell, as the voice girlishly chuckles.

"Okay, okay, sorry!"

"Alaine, please don't tell me this call has nothing to do with Jack?" I plead.

"Er, Cass I'm so sorry for not walking home back with you! But anyways, are you free tomorrow after school? It's Friday, I know you are!" she chirps.

"Yeah? My parents wouldn't mind anyways as long as you're with me," I say. Mom and dad are such weirdos when it comes to Alaine, they're completely fine with what I'm doing as long as my best friend is there.

"Okay, I'll be at your house by 2:30, okay? Okay!"

"Wait, Alaine, where are we goi --" I mentally curse as she drops the phone before answering. If I'm supposed to be a third wheel with her and Jack, or do some stalking, or do her make up for a party, I am so out.

Silently, I sit at a fancy looking table, filled with chandeliers and fancy looking adults dancing maturely. I am in a fluffy pink dress with hair styled in loose curls. I stare at the table in front of me, and only then do I notice a boy with clear blue eyes warmly smiling at me. He's in a tux, hair ruffled as usual. I feel myself melt second by second as the time passes, and I have to pinch myself to constantly believe that he is not fire to make me turn to liquid.

"Cass," a voice says. I ignore it deftly.

"Cass," the voice repeats, as I feel a hand tickle my waist, making me snuggle in farther off my bed. My eyes flutter a little bit, and I see Logan smiling in front of me so sweetly that I smile back. Up to this day, I get dreams of Logan, and it never gets old.

"Hey," he says, separating my body from the blanket. I grunt, as my eyes widen in disbelief.

"You!" I growl, realizing that this is in fact real. I stumble to the floor with my knees hurting badly, making Logan laugh.

I look at my phone and check the time. 2:30 pm and my cray cray best friend isn't even here yet. Lazily, I scamper back to my bed, ignoring the monster, and close my eyes. That doesn't last for long, as I feel myself floating in the air as Logan lifts me up gracefully. I hit him on the shoulders, as he brings me downstairs.

"Let me go to sleep, you jerk! I have plans with Alaine!" I protest.

"Yes, and so your best friend instructed me to pick you up," he says smoothly, as we reach the living room. My eyes widen as I see where Logan is headed to. I catch Hazel vacuuming the floor and cry for help, but she giggles instead.

Slowly, he edges toward the swimming pool, and I encircle my arms around his neck in utter fear. I tell myself that it's the sunlight that is making me hot, and disregard the feel of butterflies all around. There is no way he's doing this!

"LOGAN!" I yell, before I feel myself fall directly in the icy cool water. I resurface, gasping for air and climb up the steps abruptly, shivering. I shoot a feirce glare at the boy before running back to my room as he follows.

"Stay out," I hiss, banging my door in front of him to take a shower. My annoyance increases as he lets out a laugh still. Ugh.

After taking a few minutes (it was a few minutes to me but I'll admit it was a freakin' long time) of choosing what to wear, I go back down to find Logan playing with Knoxx and Toothless. Hazel and a couple of maids are in front of him, muttering with the words 'Cassidy' and 'baby pictures'.

Oh, would you look at that, Logan is looking at our old photo when he kissed me on my Birthday at Stepping Stones. Well, there goes my reputation.

I snatch away the albums from his hands before he can see any more. Why did Hazel do this?! I pull him outside as he laughs again and again and again. Ugh.
