"Well, Cassidy dear, there's this new thing Principal Bertha thought of, especially recommended by her granddaughter, Fall," I eye Logan, knowing that anything coming out of that brat's brain is never any good.
"And. . . I noticed that you were always good in writing. You always got the highest marks for your level, and other than that, I see passion and talent in you. If I'm not mistaken, it's your dream to become a writer, and Fall's idea will help you out," she says.
I sigh, thinking of how much of my time is going to be lost again. But. . . if it's for my dream, there's no way I could say no. I am Cassidy French, after all.
"Okay, Ms. Gwyneth. I'll get on it as soon as possible." I smirk happily. Ms. Gwyneth brightens at my response.
"Thank you, Cass! You two can go now, I wouldn't want to interrupt in the middle of something important, ehem, I know that you guys are dating and --"
"Woah, I'm not dating Logan Ms. Gwyneth." I squeak tentatively, as Logan just watches the whole show, amused and fascinated like his own cocky little self.
"Hm. Whatever you say, Cass. Have a great weekend,"

When me and Logan finally get out the fairytale-like house of Ms. Gwyneth, I can't help but squeal like a nerd.
"Logan!" I call out, swinging his arm back and fourth and hopping in place as we make our way to his car.
"What?"
"Nothing! Just happy!" I exclaim. Logan smiles back. I like how I can be so immature and free when I'm with my friends.
"So, are you going to start on the blog as soon as you get home?" Logan asks.
"Well, I don't know, DUH!" I laugh. I just can't stop the excitement! Ms. Gwyneth allowed me to be the head of this new tumblr blog that the school will create. All I have to do is start with the planning and the recruiting. Basically, we could publish anything we want there, as long as a teacher approves of it. Plus, I heard that great universities are eyeing River Valley High, and I obviously can't just sit still and do nothing.
But, I am still bothered by Fall, the one and the only Fall Hilton coming up with this very un-Fall-ish idea. There will definitely be something behind it, and I've got to figure out what it is.
"By the way, are you staying at my place?" I ask. Logan smirks confidently.
"Well, sure, if you want me to stay at your place, princess, all you need to do is --"
"Hold up, boy, you can't stay at my place! I've got loads of things to do, and there's the school's site up ahead. I cannot afford distractions!"
"That's okay, Cass, it's still nice to know that I'm able to become a distraction for you,"
"Remind me again why I'm friends with you?" I ask, rolling my eyes.
"Because I am the most perfect, hot, and best human being in the universe,"
"Sure, you are," I mumble lazily.
"What was that, Cass?"
"The best defense for stupidity. Sarcasm."

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. I am about to tell you three functional steps in order to make your night a living hell, by procrastinating, worrying, and doing only 40% of the things you were supposed to finish.
Step number one. Get your handsome blue-eyed FRIEND (not a crush) to drive you back home.
Step number two. Accidentally let your OTHER childhood best friend see you.
Step number three. Allow the boy inside the house and let him bug you for five straight hours.
So as you may have established, here I am right now, staring at Caleb, who just brought a bunch of food from downstairs and made an indoor picnic.
I'm not that girl who gorges over food, but it's that time of the month, so I basically ate everything.
"Oh my god, I can't believe you still remember that Pizza Hut is still my fave!" I chirp.
"Well duh, your my best friend," I smile, but think. Caleb was my friend in. . . grades one till fifth grade. Does that even count as still friends? I mean, Logan was my friend as well in preschool (so hear me put before attacking me and saying how I'm just being considerate to Logan because I like him), but I had to admit that even as a crush, I can admit that I knew nothing about him except for stalking info.
"Reminds me, tell me more of this Logan boy you're seeing," he says, a twinge of seriousness fused in his tone.
"Logan? Well, he was my classmate when we were like three or four. We're pretty close now," I respond.
"I see. So, when did it start?"
"When did what start?"
"You know what I'm talking about,"
"No, I don't,"
"Cass, don't be so hard,"
"I'm not,"
"Answer the question,"
"I don't get it,"
"When did you start to like Logan?" he asks, finally letting the very straightforward words tumble out.
The whole world goes into an abyss of plain paper, as I feel myself light up.
Oh, but not in a good way.
I feel my cheeks heat up.
And here's a little side note. I'm the smooth type of talker. No awkwardness. I'm not a bad liar. My voice doesn't falter. I don't get nervous.
So why the heck did I suddenly choke on my juice and feel a change of temperature?!
"L-like? I don't l-l. . . like L-Logan, Caleb, what a-are you talking a-about?" I stutter, internally facepalming my dumb witted self.
Get a grip on yourself, Cassy.
"Yeah, I don't think so, Cassidy," he replies. Although Caleb's demeanor is nothing but friendly, playful, and happy. . . I can't help but wince or shiver. Because there is no denying the darkness, venom, and violence laced in those words.
"Caleb, c'mon. You've known me since we were little, I've. . . never had a crush, right?" I say, chewing the pizza oh so carefully.
Caleb stares at me, trying to asses me like I'm a newfound piece to a puzzle that he'd thought was already solved.
"And I know for a fact, that you hate boys. To be honest with you, aside from Logan, I'm the only boy you haven't disregarded, because I was your best friend,"
I nod, trying to understand what he was trying to imply.
"And. . . you're chill with boys, except when they finally say that they like you. Then you start ignoring them," he continues.
"If Logan said he liked you, would you ignore him?" he asked quietly, sharpening each word like a dagger to my heart. I felt my cheeks go hot and arms start to shake.
Don't be so dramatic.
"No. I think I've changed, Caleb, it's fine. I mean, I can still be friends with him," I say.
A completely new spark ignites in those brown eyes, an unknown, unfamiliar, unwelcome knot forming in between us, warning me again and again that things will never be the same.
"Well thing is, I like you, Cassy. I've liked you since third grade,"
I like you too Logan, and I want us to live happily ever after.
WAIT, WHAT?
Oh, look it was Caleb who declared his fondness for you, not your crush.
