"How long did it last?" Jack asked me with a sad look.

"V.W lasted thirteen years and nineteen days." I told him. 

" Wow that's a long time," The kid stated the obvious.

"However living through it felt like a century long curse." I told him, with a stern look.

"I'd believe every word of that, sir." 

"You go on home now, but come back and visit me." I told the kid. i didn't know why but there was something about the kid that made me smile that day. 

Jack shook my hand and then headed home. I had a feeling I'd be seeing a lot more of that kid.
