Chapter Five

Chapter Five: Just Realized

To Kaname it was like a torture chamber... one with smiling mothers and fathers and the youngest of Kuran sisters.

He never thought of it before...

He NEVER THOUGHT about ANYTHING about Yiku before.

It was always watching and insulting.

He never thought of being a good brother.

He never thought of being a good role model.

He never thought of being the one to protect her from danger; to protect her from harm.

Instead, he, her own brother, had caused the harm; the danger; the feeling of unsafety.

Instead of feeling arrogant like he usually does he felt a new feeling.

He, for the first time, had felt guilt.

He cried relentlessly.

He would never forgive himself.

Wherever she was, whenever he could, he would say sorry; he would ask for her forgiveness towards the way he acted.

But he couldn't now.

She was gone.

He only wished to see her again.

"Onii-sama?"

I ignored Yuki.

"Momma is Onii-sama okay?" Yuki asked holding her mother's hand.

"I don't know Yuki dear." Came Juri's response.

Haruka grabbed the slip of paper from the crying Kaname.

"Haruka..." Juri hissed.
"What does it say?"

"She's gone..." Haruka answered.

"What?..." Juri's response was below a whisper but you could hear it clearly.

"She's gone." Haruka replied a bit more sternly this time.

Juri snatched the paper and read the word.

Tears started to stream down her face.

A curious Yuki took the paper from her mother and as soon Yuki read the words off the paper she started to cry.

Kaname however opened the diary.

"Today is horrible. As always. The birds had went to the farms far away and got me one corn. It's not much but I have to be thankful for it don't I? I wouldn't have anything to eat besides these. Kaname and Yuki did the same thing as usual. Juri and Haruka being the ones who 'took action' had beat me up and insulted me. Kaname just stood there doing nothing at all to help me. Sometimes I wonder if he even is my big brother. Yuki just stood there with a smirk, hands on her hips. Even though they're mean to me and all...

I can't bring myself to hate them. Not even one bit. Well maybe 5 out of a hundred hate but nothing more...." Kaname read out loud.

The bubbling heated feeling if guilt bubbled out of their stomachs and they called upon their fellow aristocrats.

They gathered in the dining room. Strange to say that the dining room was clean when it was barely used.

"Look for our daughter, Yiku. She ran away and now we can't find her. Please. Look far and wide everywhere upon this side of the barrier. Report back immediately." Haruka instructed loudly ad to cover up the also, loud sobbing of Juri and Yuki and Kaname.

The aristocrats nodded and left.

**2 Days Later***

The search was still going on.

But they soon saw the group of aristocrats in the dining room appear one by one as quick as they had left 2 days ago.

Juri and Yuki were reading Yiku's diary and Kaname was eavesdropping on the meeting.

He knew it was wrong... but he just had to know.

"I'm sorry Lord Haruka. We all tried to find them even looked in the woods. Not a single sign of her. Not a piece of fabric. Nothing. Not even a strand of her hair." Nagamichi stated.

There was a crack on the glass. Kaname was beyond angry.

WHERE IS SHE THEN?!

Ms. Shiki nodded her head.

"You are dismissed." Haruka ordered and the aristocrats vanished again.

"Kaname come on out." Haruka sighed softly.

Kaname peeked his head out.

"How did you know?" The curious Kaname asked.

"The glass broke. Any other reason?" Came Haruka's answer.

Kaname nodded.

The sobbing of Juri and Yuki grew louder. But they obviously weren't closer. They just learned to project more louder all of a sudden?

They just realized that she was a Kuran.

They just realized that she was important and their daughter no matter how she looked.

They just realized that... they loved her.
