Hannah's POV

"calm! I'm not just here to piss you off, Jessica! You guys need to come downstairs, Jacob and William are leaving and we have presents for you."

Jessica crossed her arms. "why aren't YOU leaving?"

Vincent grinned. "I get to stay." we all sighed. Who knew just how long we'd be stuck with these lot for.

"but you still get a prezzi," Vincent smirked... and I couldn't help but laugh. Jessica had a weakness and that was presents, she loved getting them.

She hesitated as Vincent held out his hand to her at the doorway, but she ended up sighing and just took his hand, growling. Hillary and I followed.

"what do you think this is about then?" I asked her. She shook her head.

"I don't know. Presents?"

I sighed. "what KIND of presents?"

"nice presents."

When I realised what game she was playing I shut up. There was no point playing this game with Hillary. She did it all the time at the academy, mainly with Jessica... Jessica would ask what's for lunch and Hillary would go ON and ON. Once it'd gone so far as 'super special really nice edible nice food', but Jessica had given up then.

We ended up outside in the courtyard by a mazarati and Aston martin. William smiled at me and Jacob turned to Hillary. William came over to me and I blushed.

"Hannah has Vincent told you you're here for a present?" I nodded and William sighed. "good well then come with me."

He took my hand and I didn't object, allowing him to lead me to the car. He dropped my hand to open to boot and - OH MY GOD - out came a dog, a red-eyed dog that was so cute I thought I was going to cry.

"mine?" was the only word I could stumble as William laughed and the dog leapt up my legs, trying to lick my face. I bent that and allowed it.

"it's a vampire dog," William told me.

"I'm gonna call him Teddy," I told him and he laughed as I stroked Teddy and turned to watch the others open their presents.

Hillary's POV

"um... I don't mean to sound rude or anything but what is that?" I asked, pointing to the bag of blue Jacob held in his hand.

Jacob laughed. "THIS is ancients blood, my dear. Drinking it will make you stronger, faster, and more beautiful."

I gasped, grabbing the bag from him. "MINE," I put on a baby voice and pouted, and he laughed. "yours."

I ripped it open and... eww I drank it. My first feed and was it horrible how it taste disgusting? No I didn't think it was. The liquid slipped down my throat and I felt my golden hair slipping to the floor, felt my body become more agile.

"and steps forth a beauty," Jacob laughed as I growled.

"when did I become nice to you?"

"since you kissed me?"

I blushed at the memory. I didn't want to remember that much less relive it, it was so horrible. How could I let myself be so naive?

"that kiss never happened. I do not intend to remember that or even achnoledge it existed. Got it?" I asked and he nodded, laughing.

"good"

Jessica's POV

"A necklace."

God it was such a beautiful necklace, with a little skull on the end with glowing red eyes and I LOVED it, but was I going to tell Vincent that?

Hell to the fuck no.

"did anyone tell you I don't like jewellery?"

Vincent laughed at my sassy remark as I crossed my arms.

"it's more than just a necklace," he told me, fastening it around my neck. He pressed the skulls mouth up and a globe appeared around us... no seriously, a globe, an unbreakable GLOBE... and I gawped.

"it's a shield. NOTHING can get through it."

I crossed my arms. "not even you?"

He laughed. "no".

"so, if you were gonna rape me, and I put this on, you wouldn't be able to get through?"

"potentially, yeah." he told me.

"great". I pushed the skulls mouth again and the shield disappeared, and I stepped back from Vincent.

"woah, little too close for comfort there." Vincent smiled and I tapped my new necklace.

Wait. A. Minute. Was I really starting to warm to Vincent?

That did it. I. Was. Screwed.

My whole life was no officially fucked up.

Stupid hormones.
