Hannah's POV

"welcome to fight training... and I hear someone here has fighting as a talent, do they not?"

Here we were, our final class. We'd immediately passed Talent class, so we now had more time for the others. Special Ability was now about practicing, and I really liked Vampire History... I liked History before, and it was really interesting.

Jessica blushed at her mention.

"I was wondering if I could have a run through with her? After all, I am known for my fighting skills."

Jessica grinned. Oh well here we go. This wasn't going to end well for anybody by that look.

"I'd love to," she stepped forward as I stepped back. I didn't want to be anywhere near that practice mat when this showdown went off.

"Lovely," he cracked his knuckles. "no one has ever had fighting as a talent before, so you could say I am intrigued."

The room's walls had every weapon other than far range one's on it. There weren't any guns either, or, I recognised, vampire hunter weapons. They'd show us the symbol that hurt vampires so much in vampire history. Jessica wasn't eyeing up anything really though, other than the nunchaku in the corner. I got the feeling it wasn't the only thing she'd be able to use though.

The teacher waved his hand around the room. "you must start empty handed, but you may grab any weapon you wish. You must not strike anyone other than your opponent."

He grinned. "begin."

To my surprise Jessica didn't run to the nunchaku first - she went for the throwing stars.

Jessica's POV

I didn't go for the nunchaku first because I needed to do damage to this guy before he got close. I didn't know how I knew it wasn't a good idea to get up close and personal before I weakened him - I just did.

I went for the throwing stars. I'd never used them before but I figured with my talent I could wield them OK, hopefully inflict some damage. He was the one who actually ran for the nunchaku - a mistake on his part. I knew what moves a nunchaku makes, therefore I could avoid them.

I jumped up onto the wall and shot one at him before kicking off, spinning head over heels before thrusting forward, shooting star after star and landed neatly on my feet.

He looked shocked and managed to dodge most of them, but one or two hit him over his chest. He plucked them out and through them back at me as his wounds quickly healed.

I cartwheeled away, grabbed an épée and lunged as he got close. I wedged it right in his stomach and jumped onto it, grabbed my nunchaku from my pocked and leant forward, twisting it around his neck.

He didn't even get a chance to use his, but to my shock he just laughed.

"fair play, fair play. Well done. I will practice, and some time we shall have a rematch." he laughed. "I don't think you need my teachings, but I shall teach you all the same."

I turned to Vincent. After his little stunt with Ryan, I wanted to see his reaction to me being able to look after myself.

He was deep in thought, pretending he hadn't been watching. That drove me crazy angry - I made a mental note to try out my skills on HIM later.

"alright, class. Begin. Grab an opponent and try to get each other down for 3 seconds. Do not hit anybody other than your opponent. Do not in flick serious damage that cannot be healed."

He turned to me. "rematch?"

I grinned. "most defiantly."

Katy's POV (by the way the reason I'm sticking to Katy for this is because that was her original name and I thought it would be less confusing)

"are you sure about this, Kasterina?" Jacob looked at me anxiously, but I had no second thoughts. I knew what I was doing, and I wasn't going to turn away now.

"I am sure, Jacob. I need to find Maryam and co-operate with her before all hell brakes loose... but don't you think it would be useful to have Jess on our side BEFORE we go on a cliche battle of Vampires vs Werewolves?"

Jacob smiled but I knew he was still worried. OK I wasn't too fond of facing Jess either... but what choice did we have? We also had something Jess didn't...

Flashback

"Jess! Look at that guy across the street!"

Jess stared at him dreamily. "he's a hunk, isn't he?"

Unfortunately, the boy noticed us staring from across the cafe and walked over to us. I ducked down but Jess kept her head held high, ready to converse.

"hi, my names Quinn," he smiled and they shook hands.

"I'm Jess. Nice to meet you, Quinn. I'm sorry, did you notice my friend staring at you?"

I hissed. ME? Like she hadn't been eyeing him up like there was no tomorrow!

Luckily, he just laughed instead of confronting me.

"that's nice. I am sure we'll meet again," and as he walked away, I swore I heard him say "mate".

Quinn was a vampire, and Jess's mate. He also happened to be my cousin, yet he'd never met me so he hadn't recognised me at the cafe.

Oh Jess, here we go, beating around the bush... and I sure do hope you don't catch me.

Jess's POV

*Knock knock*

How did they know were I was? I was surely well hidden, how had they found me?

"Jess?"

I gasped at the voice. Quinn, my mate? What was he doing here? I thought I'd never see my true mate again!

"Jess, please open up! We need to talk!" Katy.

I made my way over to the door, throwing it open.

"Quinn," I tried to not look him in the eyes as I moved on from his curly blond hair and pearly skin.

"Katy," I nodded apprehensively and she nodded carefully back.

"and... Jacob." I hissed in distaste. "I'm not going to attack you now, because that would be a sad excuse for an attack... but I shall ask you why you are here?"

"Jess... we are not going to beat around the bush." Katy began. "we need you on our side. Maryam is a werewolf princess and intends to kill us, and... um... your mate, Quinn... is a vampire."

First of all I am sosososososososo sorry!!! It has been an awful long time since my last update and I deeply apologise. Second of all... let me know your thoughts.

I will try to update sooner! I will even set myself the goal of tomorrow, though I can't write myself any more tonight because I have been ice skating and can barely keep myself up long enough to write this.

Again I am really sorry and hope you don't think less of me.
