This has been bugging me a lot and I feel like I should make a rant about it.

Note: I am not against abortion, just keep reading and yeah.

For awhile now, after seeing something on Tumblr, I've been wondering just why so many people are against abortion. I mean yeah, they're killing a child, but surely it's not like they're doing it for fun. Now with everyone having a negative feeling towards it, one state is planning on making it illegal, which I think is incredibly unfair.

When a woman has an abortion, it's not like she wants to get rid of the child, it's definitely not like she wants to kill the tiny human inside of her either. Most women who have abortions were possibly raped or sexually assaulted and the person who did it didn't use protection, and then they got pregnant. Now, if you were a woman, of any age, and you were sexually assaulted, would you want to take care of a child that was something precious made from a horrible experience you've had? Most woman wouldn't want any reminder of their rapist and wouldn't want their child to grow up, wondering why they didn't have a dad, and they would just want to continue life how it was before. So they would make a decision to either have an abortion, or send the child to an adoption center.

Another reason a woman would want an abortion is probably because if she has the child, then she'll die. She can either A.) Have the child but not live long enough to experience the joys of having one or B.) Lose the child and not risk it. Yeah you might hear stories where women are told they will die if they have a kid, they still don't have an abortion, they give birth and they both live, but keep in mind that that doesn't happen to everyone.

Also, a woman might not want an abortion because the child might have disabilities after birth or the child might not make it. I wouldn't want my kid to be treated differently just by having a disability and I really wouldn't want to give birth to a child just to have it die afterwards. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Those reasons I just said, are the most frequent ones women have when having an abortion. They don't want to end a child's life just for the lawls, they just have no other choice.

Now I know a majority of you will say "Adoption! If they don't care enough then they should just let them be adopted!" and let me say this. Imagine you were a child, who's mother decided to give you up for adoption instead of having an abortion. You go through house after house, looking for a forever home. You have a temporary home from time to time, wondering why would your mother send you to a place like this, never having an actual family.

Just because most adoptions aren't like those adoption stories, doesn't mean it doesn't suck ass. Youre not going to end up living with your favorite YTer/band/viner, you're going to most likely stay with a regular family, a bad family, or stay in the system till you're either 16 or 18, depends on where you live.

Even if you don't go into the system at all and your mother keeps you, after being raped, then imagine living a life with your mother, having some sort of look of sadness when she looks at you, and not knowing who your father is. Imagine having a life where your dad isn't there for you at all and you have know idea what the hell he looked like or what he did to your mother.

Most people would say 'I would try and look for him' and can I just say that that would be a pretty fucked up thing to do. If the man, who raped your mother and who is basically your father, did such a horrible thing, do you really think he would want to see you? A child he never wanted, someone he never planned on meeting his entire life? He fucking raped your mom goddamnit, that doesn't mean he's going to be a good person and change just for you, this isn't a fucking Disney movie. You'll just end up hurt in the end.

I know this is all harsh but I need to get this through your goddamn head that it isn't a woman's fault for getting pregnant and choosing to get an abortion.

Also, why exactly should we tell these people what to do? It's their child, it's their pregnancy, and it doesn't impact you in any way. Seriously, what they choose to do shouldn't involve what you think is right. If they want an abortion then that's fine with me, if they don't then that's fine with me as well. Their choice shouldn't have anything to do with what we think they should do.

Also, why exactly are we worrying about kids who aren't even born yet, when we should be worrying about the homeless kids living all around the world with no food, water, shelter, or anything. Or what about the kids suffering illnesses? What about them? Shouldn't we be worrying about those kids who are suffering in our fucked up world than women deciding to not have a child? If you care enough that you think kids shouldn't die, then help the ones who are dying right now instead instead of those who haven't even experienced the harshness of life.

The reason I brought this up was because two people I know are against abortion and their reasons just don't make sense. One made a rant about it actually, and it still didn't even come close to making me change my opinion. They both made it as if they were blaming the women for getting pregnant in the first place and that they should've been more careful if they didn't want to have a kid, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't what they were trying to say.

Also, like I said in the beginning, a state is also trying to make abortions illegal, which is pretty fucked up. If they do make it illegal, then they should also make sure that 'men abandoning their children' is illegal too. Im just saying.

I still believe that being against abortion is stupid and we should just leave it alone. Just let the women have a goddamn abortion if they want without being called 'killers' or going through life with people asking them why they would kill such a precious thing. It's like, you throwing away leftovers because it turns out you didn't want anymore and then people kept hassling you about it.

I'm not saying 'yeah let's all get abortions', I'm just saying that this is a stupid thing to go against. If it doesn't effect you in any way, then leave it be. Stop being so butthurt about it and go do something else.

Im sorry if I came on somewhat harsh in this rant, but it's a topic that's been pissing me off for awhile now and, I just needed to let out my thoughts I guess.

Hopefully one day people can do what they want without being judged for it, and sadly, the more I think of it, the less I believe that will ever happen. No matter what, you'll still be judged by at least someone, and I guess we'll just have to live with it.
