Elle had been running for about an hour, and she was getting more tired each step. She had run into a town, it seemed quite nice and friendly. She decided to stop at a cafe for some afternoon tea.

"Hello! Welcome to 'Chris's Cafe'. What can I get you?" asked a lovely, middle aged woman.
"I will have a pumpkin spice latte and a salad with fries please." replied Elle.
  The lady nodded and headed into the kitchen.

Elle sat down at a table and pulled out her purse. She had been saving her cash from Christmas and her birthday for a year, only spending a little bit of it. She counted the notes and coins, and it came together at $246.75 . Elle thought that would be enough for a while, until she could find a job.

"Miss, here you go." said the nice lady to Elle as she handed her the salad with fries and her pumpkin spice latte.
"How much do I owe you?" asked Elle.
"On the house, we insist. " she said as she walked away smiling.
Elle was surprised at the size of the meal, but she gobbled it down faster than lightning.

"Thank you" she said as she left the cafe.

Across from 'Chris's Cafe' was a supermarket, so Elle decided to stock up on supplies.

Elle bought some toilet paper, a six pack of 600ml water bottles, some two minute noodles and some biscuits. This was a cheap shop, the total only coming to $35. Elle continued her journey through town until night fell.
