You stumble through the forest, exhaustion tugging at your limbs. The forest is quickly darkening as the sun slipped below the horizon, and you have yet to find a suitable place to rest. Just a little bit farther, you think. The ground suddenly disappears underneath you and you find yourself tumbling down a slope. Thankfully, you didn't fall very far. 

"Oh, fox-dung! Are you all right?"

You open your eyes to see that you are in a dry riverbed, and a black tabby she-cat is in front of you. You try to get up, but struggle, and she rushes over to support you.

"My name is Addershade. You're lucky I live here; my nest is right over here. You can use it for the time being. You clearly need it more than me."

You're barely conscious as the strange she-cat leads you down a tunnel and onto a soft moss nest. The last thing you hear as you drift off to sleep is the she-cat's voice:

"Let me tell you a story...."

And so, you dream of wars and betrayal, and love and friendship. Of blood and tears, and laughter and hope.
