Snowpaw suddenly snapped into action.

"Stop! Stop it!" She yowled. Her brothers ignored her, shouting insults at each other as they clawed angrily, rolling through the dirt. Blood and fur was flying everywhere.

"Stop it!" Snowpaw cried again. She jumped forward and tried to force her way between them, but all she got for her trouble was to be clawed. She never found out who did it, but one of her brother made a scratch on her face that reached from her torn ear over her eye and down to her nose. Snowpaw shrieked in pain and stumbled blindly backwards. By now all of the cats in the clan had noticed the commotion. Snowpaw heard cats rush forward and pull Shadowpaw and Cloudpaw apart, then a cat gently prodded Snowpaw. She whimpered, but didn't have the strength to move. Her face hurt badly, and she was worried that she might be blind.

"I'm ashamed in you Shadowpaw! Fighting with claws unsheathed? With your own brother? We don't learn warrior moves and use them to resolve differences between siblings! Look what you two have done!" Bramblespike declared loudly, angrily. Snowpaw heard a gasp, then paws running towards her. Someone gently prodded her side.

"S-Snowpaw?" Cloudpaw's shaky voice asked.

"What's going on? Snowpaw!" Thundertail's voice exclaimed. More movement.

"What happened?" Thundertail demanded.

"Shadowpaw and Cloudpaw were fighting with claws unsheathed. Snowpaw tried to stop them." A voice (Fishfoot's?) explained.

"Will she... will she be blind?" Thundertail asked quietly.

"I don't know. Help me take her to the medicine den." A soft voice said. Paleberry, the medicine cat. Someone gently picked Snowpaw up, and she was carried away. She could hear conversations behind her.

"Shadowpaw, what were you thinking?" Bramblespike's disapproving voice said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen." Shadowpaw whimpered.

"I hope she's ok." One of the apprentices said.

"Nice work Cloudpaw. I noticed you used some of the techniques I taught you." A voice said quietly. Jaggedstar's? Snowpaw's head spun, and then everything faded away.

Snowpaw slowly came to. Her eyes were still closed, and her face stung. Slowly, carefully, she opened her eyes.

She could still see.

Relief flooded through her, and she felt some of her fears melt away. She wasn't blind. She wasn't going to be crippled for life. She could still be a warrior.

She took advantage of her sight to look around. She was in a nest in the medicine den. The den was mostly empty, but there was a cat sitting on the ground near Snowpaw. In the dim light, Snowpaw realized it was Thundertail. Snowpaw sat up slowly, and Thundertail woke up. He blinked tiredly, then looked at Snowpaw.

"You're awake!" He said happily, suddenly wide awake and sitting up.

"Yeah. Why are you here?" Snowpaw asked.

"I wanted to make sure you would be ok. When I saw you, there was so much blood and fur on the ground, and you weren't moving..."

"Well, I'm ok now. Where are Shadowpaw and Cloudpaw? Are they badly hurt?"

"Paleberry let them go yesterday. Neither of them are injured too badly. Just a few scars. They healed pretty quick, only took three days." Thundertail said.

"Three days? Have I been asleep that whole time?" Snowpaw asked, jumping to her paws.

"Well, technically four now." Thundertail explained.

"Four days..." Snowpaw said softly.

"I was there the whole time. I didn't want to leave your side, and thankfully Paleberry let me stay. Shadowpaw and Cloudpaw visited twice since they were released, and the apprentices all took a field trip to see you three two days ago." Thundertail said with a smile.

"Really? All of them?" Snowpaw said in surprise.

"Yep. Smallpaw, Toothpaw, Acornpaw, Mousepaw, and Bluepaw." Thundertail listed.

"Wow. I didn't realize everyone cared so much!" Snowpaw said with a smile.

"Well, almost everyone." Thundertail said with a frown. Snowpaw frowned as well.

"What do you mean?" She asked. Thundertail wouldn't meet her eyes.

"Snowpaw, there's no easy way to say this. While you were asleep, Sunglow disowned you and your brothers." He finally said.
