Chapter Two: Helping and Healing

Everest's POV~

I sat by Mountain Breeze's body, crying until there were no tears left. Creeping Dawn came over to me and tried to comfort me. I looked at him and then back at the body. I decided I would stay with the body until High Night (midnight). I looked up at the stars. Hopefully Mountain Breeze has a good home up there.

-\(~Time Skip~)/-

The next day, I saw Mountain Breeze off. We buried her next to the training tree. I remembered when Mountain Breeze had trained me here. More tears wanted to fall, but I had already dried out my eyes. I left the burial sight after I had a minute to think and look around. I went into the camp to find the enemy tribe's leader and second standing in the center of the camp. When they saw me, the leader began speaking.

"Cats of the Mountain Tribe! Gather here, young and old! I have an announcement to make!" He paused, waiting for all the cats to gather before continuing. "I don't want to be extremely cruel, so I will not force you out of your home. I only ask that you second find a new home. I don't want... Divided loyalty. From now on, all of you will take orders from me, Running Brook." He then got down and walked over to me. "I am sorry it has to be like this. No one wanted the war, but it happened. And I know you don't want this, and honestly, neither do I, but I don't want this tribe to be taking orders from two leaders." He said. I looked at him sadly.
"Maybe I could just relay your orders to our camp? I promise I won't betray you. Please... I want to stay in my home." I pleaded.
"I am sorry, but the answer is no. It poses too much of a threat to my leadership. I have food and traveling herbs gathered for you, to aid you on your journey to find a new home." As he said this, the medicine cats from both tribes came forward with a sack of herbs and food. My tribe's, well old tribe's, medicine cat came to me and whispered in my ear, "You must stop this war. No cat can handle this for much longer. Maybe you can go find that cat who came to our tribe about 2 moons ago. She also wanted this war to end. You both could work together. She is probably at the Swamp Cat tribe at this moment, because she was talking about her route, and I think that that would be where she would be by now." My old medicine cat said. I looked at her and smiled just a tiny bit.
"I won't let you down. I will end this war, for you, for the tribe, and for Mountain Breeze." I replied, newly determined. With that, I grabbed the sack, and headed of on my journey after saying goodbye to the cats of my old tribe.

Rain Splatter's POV~
The turquoise cat went in and out of sleep. Whenever he woke up, I would feed him some strengthening herbs and other herbs so that I could quicken the healing process. I kept a watchful eye on him, to see when he would fully wake up. I sang as I worked on helping him. I was currently working on a song about the war. I kept singing the first verse and second verse, for I hadn't gotten any farther.

When the turquoise cat finally woke, it had been a few hours. "Oh, you are awake!" I said cheerfully. It had been getting kind of lonely. The cat opened his mouth to say something, but when he didn't, I started to ask the questions that I had been waiting to. "What tribe are you from?" I ask as the car cleans his coat.
"I am from the coastal tribe that is in the main war." He replied flatly. He eyed me suspiciously. I ignored that, and kept asking questions.
"What rank are you in the clan?" I ask, curious.
"I am second in command. I am in charge of fighting and defense. Wave Claw is our leader." He replied quickly. I looked at him. He needed to sleep more if he ever wanted to heal.
"Ok, last question before you need to rest. Do you have a crush?" I giggled softly.
"A-a b-bit" he said.
"Who?" I asked. Then I realized how private that was.
"Nobody you know!" He snapped at me. I hung my head sadly, that was a stupid question to ask. He saw this, and said, "I am sorry. It's private, and I don't want ANYONE to know."
"Oh... Ok. My name is Rain Splatter, what's yours?" I say, changing the subject.
"Seawing." He said, yawning. He laid his head down, and slept. I smiled. Hopefully he can go back home and see his friends, and his crush. I chuckle lightly and get a pack of herbs ready for when he is going to leave. I will miss him, but I will see him again when I visit the coastal tribe.
