Author: CarterCasterwill

Q: When did you first start writing?

A: When did you first start writing: I don't know. I've been writing for as long as I can remember. But I remember the first book I ever wrote was a fanfiction for Wild Kratts. It was about 2 pages long and didn't have much, if any, dialog in it. I was maybe 6 or 7 at the time, and I'm thirteen now, so I've been writing forever.

Q:  When did you join Wattpad?

A: I joined Wattpad this summer actually. About this June/July. A friend told me about it and I got it the next day. I wanted to write and atleast have people read it without others thinking I'm weird. So, I've really enjoyed it.

Q: Are any of your characters based off of people you know?

A:  Okay, in my story, series, The Five Spirirts, almost all the characters are based off of people we and my friend, who I write the story with, know. Ellie is based off of me, Callahan is based off of my friend, Mistuve is based off of my sister, and, well, I'll tell you about more characters if I keep going. But I won't, because you haven't met them yet. :)

Q: Are any of your characters based of you?

A: Well, I have a character named Cora Jackson, in a Percy Jackson fic that I don't write anymore, who I started out basing alot on me, but in the end, I've made her so much different from when I started, that you could never guess.

I've also based my character Carter Casterwill alot on me as well. Like, Carter likes art, she likes people, she cares for everyone unless you hurt her or her friends, she forgiving, she helps everyone. Alot on me. But I've also given her a character of her own. Carter is an orphan. She's lived out on the streets. She knows when to quit. She's a Seeker. So my characters all have a personality of their own.

Q: What's your favorite quote that you've written?

A: My favorite quote? Hm, I didn't write this but it's in my story and I wrote it out in there. Well, nkt by et, but it will be. "Despite what Sophie says, I know that by the end of the day, I can trust you." -Dante Vale, huntik. I like this one, because he's telling Zhalia that no matter what, he'll trust her. And that's a good lesson for everyone.

Favorite quote I've come up with? Okay, it's pretty long."Your team's your family. And sure, like a family, you all have your differences and your arguments, but that doesn't matter. A family cares and protects one another. They cover each other's weaknesses ab and play at each other's strengths. A team is where everyone cares for one another. A place where you can be accepted for yourself. The real you. A place that protects you from the real world and it's just you and your team. A place that, no matter what happens, takes you back in again. A place where you can trust everyone with anything. Your team cares and loves one another. And if you don't have that, that's not your team. I'm sorry if you feel that way about us, Zhalia." -Carter Casterwill, Just Another Huntik Story.I wrote this because because it's true. You should be able to be like that in a team. If it doesn't work out, find another team. You can't be stuck with that fake team forever.

Q: Who's your favorite character from any book you've read?

A: Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson. She's smart, independent, and a stronb female lead, but she refuses to do anything without her Seaweed Brain by her side.

Q: What's the reason behind your username?

A: Well, my username is Carter Casterwill. Duh. I started out by going as Ellie because that was mh character from The Five Spirits. Then, I found the Huntik page on fanfiction net. After reading alot, I saw that alot of authors had their name as their characters. My character is Carter Casterwil, so that became my name and changes as the story goes on. Like my name is Carter Casterwill, but is also could be, but rarely, Carter Vale. So, it changes.

Q: Least favorite thing about writing?

A: Everyone always assumes it's for school. And it's annoying. Ever seen a girl who writes for fun? No? Take a picture. It'll last longer. (Night at the museum jokes!) I mean, really? Writing is a fun habit for me. Stop staring at me and get a life!

Q: If you could write a book about anything with one of your favorite authors of all time, who would it be and what would the book be about?

A: If you could write a book about anything with one of your favorite authors of all time, who would it be and what would the book be about? Okay, so, right now, I'm really into writing with other fan authors, like I'm helping SimJiaRui write her books, and I'm writing Triggered with irene_rays But it would be Rick Riordan, no question. And it would be about a young girl about 12 or 13 who is an undercover agent for a secret Foundation. (Ha! I don't use Organizations!)

Q: What's your opinion on love at first sight?

A: Well, I'm 13. But I believe that you can be attracted to someone at first sight. But in order to have a healthy relationship with them, you need to start on the same level. Take Zhalia and Dante from Huntik for example. They started out as colleagues, then went to teammates, then to friends, then both of them started to notice they had a small crush on the other. Later, that crush turned into love. And when Zhalia betrayed the team, she couldn't do it, because she was in love with Dante. And Dante didn't hate her or anything because he was in love with her. That's what I believe.

Q: Do any of your books crossover into others that you've written?

A: Almost all my Huntik stories. It starts out with Just Another Huntik Story and branches off from there. I love AUs.

Q: Werewolves, Fae, or Vampires?

A: Seekers! Oh, not an option? *goes and hides in a corner* okay! I'm done with this interview! Goodbye! Okay, JK. But I don't like any of them. Sorry, no offense to people who like them.

Q: And do you have any advice for other struggling authors out there?

A: As cheesy as it sounds, don't write for others. Write for yourself, because I've learned that the story is better that way. Also, don't gjve yourself a certain time limit on when to update unless you work better that way. In my opinion, the story isn't as good when you're being pressured into updating. Work on the story when you're inspired too. It works a whole lot better.

Thanks for having me! It Was fun! And I hope you all learned something about me!
