According to wattpad the site will be down on October 6 from 8am UTC to 10am UTC, or in other words from 4am EDT to 6am EDT.

This alert is on the top of the home page for me.

And I almost didn't notice it because I usually ignore the home page since it sucks.

Don't come yelling to me on October 6th that there's been a outage or a glitch. Wattpad is doing "Maintenance" whatever that maintenance may entail.

I think that they are most likely doing server maintenance so that the servers have less outages and don't become overloaded.
And since it is sever maintenance the severs must be down while they are being worked on and that would explain why it isn't just a update.
