As many of you know News Feed is getting removed. One of the reasons given for its removal is new features will be added. Here are a few features that I hope could be added. Though wattpad has not said what they are doing other than changing the search bar.

If you have any other suggestions feel free to comment and share them. I'd like to know what you guys think Wattpad should add.

• Book shelves.
Sort inside your library, if there is a series you're reading you could put it all on one shelf so you don't loose a book to the bottom of your library. It would help organize your library and if you don't like the feature you'd still be able to just view all of your books at once on one all included shelf.

• Sort by new/recently updated
Sometimes we have a book that has been updated, but it is gone among our library and all we know is that there is a icon next to the book tab on the bottom bar. Currently the sort on the library is by most recently read, being able to sort by new would help users find books easier.

• Search within Library
Sometimes there is a specific book in your library you are looking for. But you have to scroll through tons of books to find it, being able to search within the library and being able to search through books you have should make it soooo much easier to find a book.

• Show oldest comment
Sometimes you want to read a comment thread... but you have to hit "show more" until you get to the start. Being able to say start from oldest would help writers see who commented first and answer questions or respond in the order the comments came in.

• Stop showing book option in home
I for example get recommended my own books on the home page. Being able to click it and say "don't show again" would make the annoyance of my own book popping up as suggested, go away. There is a limit to the tags you can block, and some books don't even have tags but you can still get them as recommended over and over again in your home page. Being able to say not to show a book again would make the home page a lot easier to use to find new books on.

• Favorite genre option
Being able to say to wattpad to show books of a certain genre on your home page would help get more books you like rather than a hodge podge of things with a tag that was in a different book you read.

• Mark as Horror mature vs 'Inappropriate' mature
As of now if you have your age on wattpad above 18 you can select to show or block stories labeled "mature" which makes it so the home page stops showing books marked with that or not. I am fine with mature gore or horror but hell no I don't want to read about adult romance, I'm sure some wattpad users are the same or are the other way around. Being able to mark stories as different kinds of mature would help users block the kind they don't want to see while allowing them to see the kind they are okay with.

• Release timer
Some people have a complete or almost complete book in their drafts. If a user wants to go offline for a while but wants their book to still go this would timer help. It would be in place so a writer could say when they want chapters of their book released, and confidently say "This book updates every [x day of the week, x days]" rather than forget to post a chapter or completely loose motivation for the story this would give a time line for their book. Of course you could do this manually rather than automatically but adding in a automatic way would make it easier for many users.

• Collaboration book option
Want to write a book with multiple people? This option would be great for doing so. It would give the option for a writer to allow another user to edit their book and add to it. Some people make joint accounts to do things like this, yet logging out and logging back in to different accounts is likely annoying, being able to keep a book under both users names would make it easier both copyright wise and working on it wise. Of course there would need to be a way for the author to make a copy incase the other user got hacked or had to delete their account.

• Group Private messages
There is no way within wattpad for multiple users to talk privately together. In private messages users currently can only message one other user per chat. Being able to have private group chats would help when trying to discuss if someone is having issues as a group but keep it from getting out of that group. If you are trying to tell multiple other users "x person is being mean or hacking" or something and don't want to report the person for whatever reason, as of now you would have to tell each individual person in pm one by one or risk the other person blowing up at you commenting about it, group message would just make it easier so you don't have to answer the same question multiple times on it.

• Font size changing and mode changing for when making chapters
Authors and writers can't type or make stories in any modes other than the default white, unless they have dark mode enabled but then that is only black & white modes and is still missing the beige mode readers have available. Readers can change the font size but writers can't when typing on or in one of their drafts unless they are viewing the draft as a reader that is. Being able to change font and font size would help writers who are on mobile and can't read small print well, being able to have different modes during editing can make it more comfortable for writers too.

• Bookmarking
Sometimes users want to go back a few chapters and read something they missed, but whoops now they may have lost their original spot. Or there is cool art on one chapter a user doesn't want to forget about but they want to keep reading. Being able to book mark a chapter or part of a chapter would make books easier to navigate. Yes you can put a url for the page as a bookmark in safari or Crome etc, but mobile users can't really do that if they are in the app. Bookmarking would help organize.

• Highlighter
Being able to annotate books (even if only on the viewer's side) would be helpful for finding a quote you like in a book or help you highlight what a character looks like incase you forget.
