It has been a week after I have received my early presents.
But immediately after I got the presents, we all went into training so that we know how to use them correctly and efficiently.
The sky skates turned out to practically be hover boots. But having hover boots that are used the same way as ice skates while using boomerang-functioning discs is not as easy as it sounds...or looks. First, I had to get used to the sky skates since I felt a bit unstable with them because of course, there was nothing underneath me except the floating blades that produce the ice skating-like feel and the ground a few inches down. After that, I had to master the discs, which consisted of first throwing and catching. Then I had to do that on my sky skates and that was more difficult because the disc had huge force to it and it kept knocking me onto the ground whenever I caught it. Fortunately, I got the hang of it, so I was throwing and catching a five pound disc with its edge glowing magenta while being three feet in the air with hovering blades being the only thing holding me up.
Then came aiming: actually throwing the disc at something.
I was against a bullseye target one would use for archery, except I used it for disc throwing. I had to throw the disc into the board in the red area and let it stay there. Then with the gloves that were attached to my fighting suit, I extend my hand out towards it and like as if I had telekinetic powers, it would come back to me! Voilà! But it wasn't easy letting the disc stay in there without clattering onto the ground and skidding back to me.
"Harder," Poncho told me.
I took in a sigh behind my glass, teardrop-shaped shield that was attached to my helmet. I clutched onto my disc, crossed my arm to the other side of my body, placing the edge of the disc inches away from my neck; then with one snappy motion, I flung my arm out, letting go of the disc as I applied weight on it. It whizzed in the air and suddenly halted as it got wedged in the red circle.
"That looks odd," I muttered to myself.
"Do you mind leaving your disc behind like that?" Poncho asked me sternly.
"Oh, right." I reached my hand out, feeling the pull of the glove and the disc increasing. The disc then ripped out from the target with a cling! and my hand automatically clutched onto the smooth surface of the weapon. "There we goes!" I smiled as I looked down at the leader, who was still in his hovering chair.
He nodded his head. "Good, good... Now you can penetrate through tough surfaces of aircrafts, causing them to combust."
I rose my eyebrows. "Wow, that sounds awesome!" Then in my excitement, I threw the disc again aimlessly with force. It flew in through the air with top speed, slicing through the walls since the force it built up on itself was strong enough to cut through it. I felt myself go pale when I saw the destruction I've done. I looked done at Poncho. "Whoops."
He had a flat look, staring at the slitted wall.
I extended my hand out silently and the disc whizzed through the wall, cutting it once again in another area of it; it slammed into my opened hand and I clutched on to it.
Poncho letted out a heavy sigh and shook his head as he began turning around and gliding out of the room. "It's for their good, it's for their own good..."

The next morning, I was walking down the hallway to breakfast with Andrea by my side.
"How's your training going?" I asked her, wanting to make some sort of conversation.
"It's going pretty well." She turned out of the hallway with me following her. "It was difficult at first getting the hang of controlling the wings, but now I got the hang of it...but it's so weird controlling 'em with your mind, there's no tangible controller of anything for 'em!"
I rose my eyebrows. "Wow, that's weird..."
We then stopped in the main room, in front of the breakfast table. Poncho was on the other side of the table with a smile on his face. I then turned around and saw the guys coming our way.
"Where's the food, Poncho?" I heard Andrea ask the leader. "I cooked it and brought it here before I got ready!"
I turned back to face what was ahead of me.
He interlaced his fingers. "Well, I have decided that we can go out and eat. How does that sound?"
"Oooo! Where?" Cade exclaimed with lots of excitement.
"Ven Dizzle's," Poncho replied calmly.
Alek made an odd look when he said that.
"Ven Dizzle's House of Pancakes‽" Cade looked like he was about to explode. "Yes, I love their pancakes!" He threw his fists in the air.
"Does that sound good to everyone else?"
The three of us exchanged looks while I was agreeing with Poncho to get the heck out of here and eat some restaurant food. I love breakfast at a restaurant.
"Alright, let us go!"

We had a table of five to ourselves in the corner of the restaurant, still wearing our resting suits; that's fine because no one can see them except for us. It was a nice time to go since it was a weekday and everyone was either at work or at school. But we weren't at school, no, no, no--we are HEROES and we're too cool for school.
We already had ordered our food and now we were waiting for it. I was sitting next to Andrea with our backs facing the entrance, Cade and Alek were sitting across from us, with their backs facing the wall that had the kitchen on its other side, and Poncho was sitting on the end of the table, the only end of the table since the other end was next to a wall.
"I dunno," Poncho started, "it's been such a long time since I took out my group to eat out... I remembered telling myself to not do it again, yet I don't know why."
We all stared at him oddly.
"And what are you trying to say?" Alek asked.
"Just thinking out loud, sorry." He waved his hand in the air.
I gently took a sip of my apple juice. Okay...is something bad gonna happen or...?
We then began to hear screams echoing through the air like as if we got stuck in a horror movie.
"Why's there screaming?" Andrea asked with confusion.
Us girls turned to look behind our shoulders as the guys looked ahead to see what was the commotion.
There were people zooming by outside and inside as a droning sounds was being emitted from the sky; the restaurant began to grow empty with up-side down furniture as the droning sounds of aircrafts grew louder.
"There's an attack..." Andrea muttered to herself with her green eyes widened.
"Alright guys, here's your chance to shine!" Poncho shouted over the earth-shattering sounds as he was backing out from his spot while being in his hovering chair. "Plan Half-Spy! Good luck!" He then sped out of the restaurant.
"He left us behind!" I snapped as I stood up abruptly.
"That's because it's our job to fight, not his," Andrea told me. She turned to the rest of us. "Let's suit up." She pulled out a black chip from her pants' pocket and stuck it against her chest. She then pressed on it and it began glowing purple. Squares of dark gray metal began unfolding from the circular chip, covering her whole body, forming into a suit, the same exact suit I drew out on my iPad, in just seconds.
"Oh yes." A smirk grew on my face as I dug for my chip. I put it against my chest and pressed on it, going through the same epic transformation as my friend.
Cade also got into his suit.
The only one who was having difficulties was Alek.
He thrusted his chip from his pocket, slipping out from his hand. It made an arc in the air and dove into a cup of water.
Alek made a disgusted look as he muttered something that I suspected to be Russian underneath his breath. He then quickly dumped the water onto the table, not caring that it was wetting the whole table. He snatched the chip and pressed it against him, undergoing his transformation with a bit of malfunctions. His suit took a bit longer to build up, but it ended up looking the same except the glowing designs were flickering.
I guess he has to work on the waterproof function of the chip.
"Come on, let's go!" Andrea nodded towards the entrance as she began running towards it.
We followed after, bursting out of the restaurant.
In front of us in the sky, what seemed like miles away was a whole fleet of aircrafts that looked like they got set free from a science-fiction movie.
"Oh my goodness," I muttered to myself. It was more frightening to see this in real life than in a movie, that's for sure.
Andrea turned to us all. "Okay, Katt and Russia, you two are going to be in the air to get to the aircrafts for a better aim; Freshman and I are going to be in the jet." She turned to Cade. "Freshman, get us in the air."
Cade pulled out a rectangular, flat object from his holster and flung it into the ground. It began unfolding, building up into a jet...an awfully familiar jet that seemed like I saw it before a lifetime ago.
I then heard a loud FOOSH! blasting next to me. I snapped my head to the left since that was where it came from and noticed that Alek was gone from my side. I looked up, seeing him flying up into the sky with his glider. "I guess I should go up as well," I muttered to myself.
I jumped into the air and stuck my right foot out as the blades of my sky skates came out from my feet. I began skating in the air, making it feel like I was skating up a steep hill covered with ice that was floating.
I then broke next to Alek, who was hovering about several yards away from the upcoming aircrafts with his gun, Zashchitnik, gripped tight in his hand. "What are we gonna do?" I asked him.
"I'll go up, you stay here." He pressed his left foot down, tilting the glider upward. He then shot further up into the sky, getting smaller and smaller.
I just stood there for a few moments, thinking whether I should actually attack or not.
Suddenly, a blast of fire came streaking towards me. I shrieked and stuck my arm out like how a hockey goalie would stick out their arm out to block a puck with their blocker. The fire hit my suit and turned into smoke, doing no damage to it. Cool! It's not waterproof, but it's surely fireproof!
I then shrugged. "I guess I should fight." I then extended my hand out down to my side, letting my disc protrude out from my suit. I then went into my throwing position just like what I learned during training; I swung the disc hard at the aircrafts' direction. The disc began to turn as it skidded the hull of the aircraft, then zoomed back to me.
"Oh no, no, no!" I caught it with disappointed. "You're not suppose to do that! I gotta get closer!" I took in a deep breath and skated a few feet closer. "Alright, let's see how this--"
I got distracted by a familiar scream. I darted my eyes up, seeing Alek plummeting down the sky with no glider, behind the aircrafts. I suddenly felt that I was getting a déjà vu... Ugh, those are so weird, it was like as if I saw the same exact thing before, but I just don't know where and when!
I then saw him zoom past the aircrafts, then smashing onto the nose of the jet Andrea and Cade were in. Good, he's safe, I thought to myself.
He was gripping onto the jet for a few, hard moments; he then pushed himself away and flew back up to the aircrafts' area with his glider back on his feet.
Okay, he's back! Good! I looked straight ahead of me and flung my disc at the aircrafts with as much force I could build up in seconds.
Once I letted go of the disc, I saw another fire streak coming at me. I punched it like as if it was a punching bag and it blasted into smoke. Whatever the suit had, it's really useful.
Another fireball came along and I extinguished it with my leg. Hahaaa, I'm like a goalie!
Next, a red laser came at me. I extended my hand out as my disc flew back to me and chopped it into nothingness with it. I looked straight ahead, seeing that the disc took down one aircraft since it was beginning to tilt downward with smoke rising in the air.
"AGAIN!" I shouted like a war cry. I threw my disc horizontally in the air straight at the aircrafts.
I blocked another laser shot with ease as I watched my disc doing its job: It was flying and flying until it hit an aircraft that was on the right edge of the pack. The whole aircraft exploded into a poofy ball of flames and smoke and metal pieces. Suddenly, the aircraft next to it exploded as well.
The disc got a double? I thought to myself as I saw my disc coming back to me.
I caught it and stared at the unfolding destruction. Wow, I did a lot of dam--
A sharp pinch coming from my neck snapped me out of my thoughts. What? I touched the right side of my neck, feeling something on it. I pulled it out, noticing that it was a small, thumb tack-shaped syringe. I grimaced at it and threw it down.
"I should check on Alek...or Russia," I muttered to myself as I pressed against the side of my helmet with my free hand, turning on the intercom function of it. "Russia? Russia, how are you doing?"
All I heard was static.
"Russia?"
Nothing.
I snapped my head up, seeing the destruction I made calming down. He went into that area or aircrafts and... I felt myself go pale as I dropped my hand down. Oh no. Please don't tell me. No... Did I kill Alek?
I felt my heart rate accelerating as I began to sweat; the thought of killing my crush felt like as if I brought the end of the world. "Ohmygoodness, how am I gonna tell them?"
"Katt," I heard Andrea's voice emit from my helmet. "Katt, come in."
I pressed the side of my helmet again. "Uh, yeah?"
"Why are you standing there?"
"I think...I think..."
There was an awkward pause as I was trying to think of the best way to bring out the news.
"You think what?" I heard Andrea tell me.
"I threw my disc at the aircrafts...I checked up on Al--Russia...and he wasn't answering. So I think I accidentally killed him..." I gritted my teeth anxiously.
"Yeah, I saw that," she told me.
"You're gonna kill me now, aren't you?"
"We'll let Poncho decide that. Come into the jet, we're leaving since we're one man down."
I felt my heart drop. "Okay." And with a sigh, I lachrymosely skated back down to the jet.
