Chapter 3
Danny gently landed on Sam's roof, fazing through the ceiling and into her room. Sam was sitting on her bed hugging a pillow, looking as miserable as ever. It broke Danny's heart.
"Sam?" He whispered, landing on the ground turning human. Sam gasped, surprised, and glared at the ghost boy. "Danny!... I told you to stop fazing into my room!" She scolded. Danny bit his lip and sighed. "I'm sorry, but... I needed to see you."
"Well I don't wanna see you. Besides, don't you have ghosts to fight?" Sam hissed coldly. "Hey... No need to get mean here. I'm here to truly apologize... It was wrong of me to leave you alone." Danny pleaded, sitting next to her on her bed.
"Danny... I needed you more than you could've thought..." She whispered, wiping her eyes gently. "... I did too." Danny muttered, causing Sam to raise a brow at him.
"What can I do to prove I really am sorry?" He asked, taking one of her hands. "Please... I want to make things right."
Sam looked down and blushed a bit, with a sigh. "... I'll have to think about it... But I'll see you tomorrow at school, okay?" She touched his chest gently, making him phantom. Sam pushed him out the window and smiled small.
"... Cya tomorrow?" Danny asked, floating in front of her window. Sam nodded. "Cya ghost boy." She kissed his cheek and closed the window, returning to bed.
Danny placed a hand on his cheek and blushed. He shook his thoughts into order. "It.. Was just a friendly kiss... Nothing more..." He muttered to himself, a bit let down.
He spun and flew home, hoping he'd be back before curfew.

"Danny!" Jazz called as she opened Danny's door. The young halfa grunted and rolled over in bed, pillow over his face. "Wake up, little brother. It's time for school." She snapped and pulled him off of his bed.
"Okay! I'm up! I'm up!" Danny hissed as he rubbed his back. "I slept like a log... Geez..." He murmured. "Well then get stretching. School starts in 1 hour." Jazz replied as she left the room. Danny gulped and shot up. "Dangit!"
He took a quick shower, and turned invisible so the water landed in the tub after. He threw on his clothes; a red and white jacket overtop of a red tshirt, and blue jeans. Danny quickly combed out his hair and brushed his teeth, and rushed downstairs.
Danny skid to a stop and sat done, eating the large plate of waffles his mom had prepared. "Thanks mom!" He thanked as he finished eating in record time.
"Of course, sweetie. Now run along, Sam and Tucker are waiting for you." His mom replied, pointing to the front door. Danny grinned and tossed on his shoes and bag, and hopped out the door.
"Hey guys! Ready for 12th grade?" Danny asked excitedly. Sam shrugged as she continued texting, and Tucker nodded with a smile. "Totally. Let's hurry, or we'll miss class." Tucker exclaimed and dragged the two to the school.
"I-" Danny started saying. "Don't even think about it." Sam snapped coldly. Danny looked at her, hurt. "..." He looked away as they walked into the school.
As usual, Dash was at Danny's locker. "Hey, uh... Dash?" He asked, raising a brow at the popular athlete. "What do you want?" Dash replied rudely.
"I don't want this year to get off on the wrong foot... But could you please move so I can reach my locker?" Danny asked, as polite as he could. Dash thought a moment, then laughed. "No thanks, I'm good right here."
Danny slumped his shoulders. Same old Dash... Wouldn't change for all the footballs in the world. He sighed and walked to Sam's locked.
"So... Sam?" Danny asked. Sam growled lowly and turned away as she slammed the locker door shut. "I know you're angry- but I don't want to start the year off with you hating me!" He exclaimed, his hands balling into fists out of annoyance.
"That's just your little problem, now, isn't it, ghost boy?" Sam asked with a sharp glare. "Don't call me that..." Danny replied lowly. "Please Sam- at least give me a cha-"
"Forget it! You don't deserve forgiveness! Now just get out of my life, Fenton!" Sam hollered, shoving Danny back so he landed it the garbage can. Everybody in the halls 'oooh'd and laughed. He struggled to get his bottom out of it, Sam looking shocked, and worried.
"Danny I... I don't know what came over me... I'm sorry..." Sam pleaded quietly. Danny got out of the garbage and held his bag straps in a death grip. "Oh, so I don't get forgiven, but you expect me to forgive you?" He shot, and stormed off, face red with anger.
Sam placed a hand on her own cheek and frowned, watching one of her only best friends leave her. Tucker walked up behind her and sighed. "Maybe you should stay away from him... For your own good, and for his." He muttered and walked after Danny.
Sam's heart shattered. "But... I didn't mean to..." She closed her eyes and sighed, getting herself back together. "Whatever. Like I need him." She growled and went to her own class.
