Chapter 14
Eva's POV
I was honestly expecting someone other than Carol to burst through the door, scaring the living fish out of me.
She stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes narrowing onto Will and I.
"Oh...um hey Eva! Just thought I'd stop by, you know..." she mumbled, her eyes flickering back and forth in my current situation.
I crossed my arms, my eyes going cold.
For some reason, I believed a stranger - Alpha at that - over my best friend, whom as far as I can remember, has been there for me.
"Cut the sh*t, Carol. I want to know what's going on, and I want to know now," I told her, backing away from both of them so I could stare into their guilty expressions.
There was no reason that Carol would be in my room with a small grey key in her hand, at this time of day.
Her large doe like eyes widened as she looked at me, biting her lip. I watched carefully as her eyes flickered to Will, a silent 15 second conversation going on between them.
This was probably what angered me the most at that point, and honestly, I didn't feel like keeping my cool any longer.
I can't say exactly what it was that made something in me snap, but I got a sudden burst of agony, like Carol had stabbed my head.
I ran over to Carol, snatching the key from her palm, and throwing it at the wall.
Everything seemed to go in slow motion then, starting from me grabbing Carol on the throat, and pushing her onto my bed.
My wolf prowled, dancing in the midst of my eyes.
Something burst inside of me, like a pie in the microwave, and I let my wolf get what she wanted.
I knew why now.

Will's POV
Just as Carol burst in the room, my senses went on high alert, from the point of my Mate backing away from me, to Carol's eyes snapping towards me.
Her eyes told me everything, and the small glistening key in her hand made me understand what was happening.
It was time to go.
The accusation that Eva's eyes possessed made my wolf whimper inside. His Mate was unhappy, and he did not know how to comfort her from so far away.
I was about to explain everything to her, when all of a sudden I watched her eyes go black.
Pulling against the chains, I tried to lunge forward at her.
The second the key hit the wall above me, I focused my attention on it, slamming back against the wall to prevent the key from hitting the wall. I wouldn't be able to get it off the ground if it fell.
My Mate needed me. I had to get her out of here. Now.
The way she attacked Carol made me struggle against getting Eva to safety or getting the key.
I pushed myself off the wall, my hands catching the key behind me, before trying to unlock the cuffs on my wrist.
Something about Eva in this moment frightened me, and I did all that I could to get my hands free before I could unlock my legs.
As soon as I was free, I raced towards Eva, grabbing her in my embrace and pushing her behind me.
Carol had a bruise forming on her left jaw and tears streaming down her cheeks.
I held Eva back as she tried to go for Carol again, her growls the only sound she made with her black eyes.
She was in complete vicious animal form.
"Make it quick," I said to Carol, my arms holding Eva's back on my chest, trying to ignore the long missed sensations.
"Southeast wall. 15 minutes. Your brother's in the 18th cell," was all she could mutter through her tears.
I didn't bother thanking her, only nodding stiffly.
"Get your mate out of here," was the last thing I ever said to her, pulling the rabid Eva out of the room with me.
She tried to break the door, but I kept her away, not in need of the unnecessary sounds.
"Eva," I hissed as she struggled in my arms, her animal eyes snapping towards me, "Stop."
My alpha tone leaked through, but since she was in her half-phase, in between shifting and human form, she calmed herself.
The need to have her pulsated as her dangerous eyes had a glint of seduction in it though she didn't seem to do it on purpose.
I tried to ignore my needs, grabbing her hand and pulling her with me. I was slightly surprised that she ran alongside me, her prey in the other room being left behind.
We ran in what seemed a circle, anger bubbling inside me since I was getting a sense of being lost.
Once I stopped to see what kind of place we were at, Eva kept running a different direction, my hand grasping hers made me follow her.
Normally I would doubt another with directions, but i had my complete trust in my Mate.
We had stopped a few times in the maroon halls, waiting for their human guards to cross.
In a total time of leaving the room, about 5 minutes had passed before we began going down a dark cellar like room. Cells with rotting smells filled my senses as we raced down each of them, my eyes scanning for the 18th cell.
My eyes hardened as the cells went to 22, yet there was no 18. The room at the end caught my attention as it did not have a number.
Eva pulled me forward with her, her other hand clawing at the old wooden door.
I eyed it, before gently letting go of her hand, thankful that she stayed beside me.
Her eyes were still black as far as I could tell, but her eyes stayed glued to the door in front of us.
It didn't take me long to open the door, Eva racing in front of me, her body moving towards the camera in the corner.
I tried not to show emotion as I saw my brother chained to a wall, streaks of dried blood on his body.
As soon as she pulled on of the wires from the camera, I used all my strength to pull the cuffs off his body.
His eyes snapped open as his head slowly lifted towards us, his eyes flashing bright as he looked in between us.
I couldn't help the growl of possession as his eyes looked towards Eva.
He looked back at me, his bloody lip curling into a smirk. I would have punched that grin off his face, but we were on a time limit.
As soon as he was free, he rubbed his wrists, cracking his neck.
I ignored his usual self. Even torture wouldn't change him.
I grabbed Eva's hand automatically, "We're on a time limit, brother. 9 minutes."
That was my only explanation as we bound up the stairs, Eva's hand in mine, making me prepared to kill anyone or anything in my way of happiness.
We almost got caught by one of the guards, but he was looking down at his phone at the last second.
Even though humans could stop the scent of wolves from filling the forest, they were only human.
We took a sharp left to a secret door, not very secret just uncommon, running through it. We had only a few minutes, for what I was not sure, but I wouldn't risk loosing my Mate again to find out.
As soon as our feet hit the soft wet grass outside, we started sprinting madly for the forest.
"South West," I told Eva since she was the only one who knew the perimeter.
I assumed we were running the correct way, her body sprinting hard next to mine, which didn't stop me from letting a small smile of pride.
She was still my Eva, even with her black dyed hair.
As soon as we jumped over the dew filled moss into the inner forest did I go back to focusing on my surroundings. The smell of other wolves was evident, but it just seemed like they were doing their rounds.
Derek was to my right, running alongside me.
We didn't stop till we reached the large gray wall, the bricks tempting something to try and cross it.
Eva let go of my hand, my reflex to go after her followed as she touched the wall and looked left and right.
The duration of her silence and dark eyes were starting to have an effect on me, making me worry for her, but she also could just be letting her wolf control her.
She started running right, in the path of the wall.
My eyes automatically turned to a shade of black as I ran after her, Derek not far behind.
The smell of other wolves made me run faster Eva, as if she was running towards them.
"Eva, stop," I hissed again, not wanting to hurt her, but she was pretty damn fast.
I grabbed her waist at the last second, growling in her ear. I couldn't loose her again. I wouldn't.
"William?" I heard a familiar voice and a growl alongside it.
"Carol you can't....," the masculine voice made me ready to attack them.
"Will! You have to hurry up, we don't have enough time! It's just my mate!" Carol whispered, but my hearing caught onto it.
I moved towards the bushes, the small black gate wide open with Carol and her mate standing near eachother, looking into the distant forest with guarded eyes.
I looked at Derek, his curt nod surprised me as we ran towards the open door.
Her mate growled deeply, pulling her into his arms.
"Hurry...," she whispered as we went through the door.
"Why are we on a time limit," Derek asked carol, glaring at her protective mate.
"The alarm will go off in 2 minutes since the gate is open, so we have to be off the premises!" she muttered, all of us sprinting down the large forest.
Eva starred at Carol for a moment, as we stopped once we heard a loud siren off into the distance.
"Leave us," I told Carol and her mate.
She nodded stiffly, looking back towards Eva who just starred at her with a blank expression.
"I am truly sorry, Eva. You're like my sister. But we must part. Hopefully the fates will be kind, and we shall meet again one day."
I remained silent, signalling that we had to go.
Eva nodded, turning around, as Derek, Eva, and I began running down South.
I heard a rustle of leaves behind us, notifying me that they had left as we put distance between us and the rouge headquarters.
We would destroy that place.
Maybe not today.
Maybe not tomorrow.
But hey, we are Alpha's the most terrifying pack roaming the North American territory.
We will get each and every one of them eventually.
But until then, I let my wolf rejoice at having gotten his Mate back.
My love.
My life.
I finally got her back. And I will destroy anyone who tried to take my angel.
