Prologue
September 31, 2017
The still, cold air before dawn filtered through the house as paws padded through the hallway. The wooden floors creaked softly as Holly made her way out into the livingroom/kitchen combination.
The young queen quickly turned the kitchen lights on, as well as the lamp in the living room. I would complain on how 5:51 am, but I'm just used to this by now, Holly thought to herself.
She jumped up, her wings catching her as she flew up to the white, upper cabinets, grabbing a few plates with her front paws and placing them on the grey, marble countertops. After Holly's paws hit the ground, she grabbed some eggs with her mouth from the refrigerator, her ears folding back due to the cold. Placing the eggs on the counter, she also grabbed a pan, turning on the oven top.
Soon, the smell of scrambled eggs filled the air as Holly was finishing the food, her tail twitching with hunger.
The young queen grabbed onto the handle of the pan with her mouth, filling the plates with eggs. You don't know what you're missing Mamma, Holly thought to herself as she brought the plates onto the counter tops with seats to sit on.
Holly's ear twitched as she looked at the time. Eh... Close enough, I should wake him up, the queen thought, heading towards the hallway, her tail swaying back and forth. The pale grey walls were silent as Holly made it to her little brother's room.
She smiled, opening the door to see her brother, sleeping peacefully on his bed. "Good morning Button, it's time to wake up for school, I made some eggs for ya'," Holly said softly. Button stirred, his eyes fluttering half open. He looked at Holly smiling, but quickly grumbled.
"School? I love it and all, but not the waking up early part," he muttered, slowly sitting up in his bed. Holly chucked, her eyes shining with amusement.
"C'mon, I made some eggs for you, don't want them to go to waste do you?" Holly asked, smirking. Button smiled, quickly jumping out of bed with a pure happiness flowing through his eyes.

After eating the eggs, Button ran back to his room with excitement. Putting the plates in the dishwasher, Holly couldn't help but grin in amusement at Button's love for school. He always loved school, Holly thought starting to hear towards her room herself. She made her way into her room, turning on the light with her wing.
The young queen's ears twitched as she adjusted to the light. She's still squinted, Holly made her way through her room, the pale, blue walls not really helping to adjust. Making it to her desk, Holly looked in the mirror, fixing any stray fur or feathers.
Soon, she looked at the bed behind her until she spotted her bag. Quickly, the black-and-white colored queen jumped onto the bed, folding out her wings for a small lift. Holly grabbed her bag, as well as her phone right next to it as the young queen jumped down onto the floor.
Holly's tail fell as she checked the time, ears twitching in uneasiness. The queen jumped towards the door, quickly opening it to see the slightly frightened face of a 7 year old. his face softened as he saw the face of his older sister, his ears and tail perking up.
"Wow, you checked the time I see, well we should start heading towards your bus stop, huh?" Holly chuckled.
"Yep!" Button replied, eyes' shining. The young Tom paused, look towards his room before running into it, "Hold on, I need something!"
Holly smiled, looking away from the energetic tom. She loved her brother like any sister would, but Holly has a bond that is closer than most. Really though, you get close to the only cat you feel like you could trust when your family is falling apart.
Suddenly, soft fur of a 7 year old's thought is a tackle launched onto Holly, causing her to dramatically fall onto the ground after realizing the 'attack'.
"Gotcha!" Button purred, jumping off of the older sister. As the young queen got up, she noticed how Button has a necklace on, with 5 buttons. One large, green one in the center, between two medium-sized, blue buttons. Lastly, there are two small, green buttons above the blue ones. Holly recognized it As the gift she made him when she was in 6th grade.
"I couldn't forget this, it reminds me that I have someone who cares about me, no matter what."
Holly grinned at the purity in his voice.
They depend on each other, because each other is all that they have. This is now, but in the future, these two siblings will find a group of friends that will change their viewpoint on everything forever.
But who ever said that it was going to be easy?

Hello! I really hope you enjoy this story.
I've been working on this for a while so I'm glad that I finally started it.
Now, I'm going to base their school on how mine works, so if it's confusing, sorry.
This chapter is an exception to my schedule since there are some information you needed to know before this, so don't expect double uploads often.
Anyways I hope you enjoyed it!
