SCENE TWO

[Pri walks into her class late after spending thirty minutes looking for it. She enters and everyone stares at her, even the teacher]

Boy1: who's this?

Girl1: [eyes Pri]

Becca: [to herself] could she be a competition?

Girl2: she's not much

Jason: [looks outside the school window]

Boy2: she's so pretty...

Girl3: [slaps boy2] hey!

Teacher: who are you?

Pri: I'm the new student

Teacher: are you in this class?

Pri: [nods]

Teacher: name?

Pri: Pri

Teacher: Pri???

Pri: just Pri

Teacher: okay everyone, say hi to 'Just Pri'

All except Jason and Becca: Hi Just Pri!

Pri: no! My names not 'Just Pri' it's only Pri, Pri alone!

Teacher: okay Pri, can you tell me the family name for the group 1 or 1A elements?

Pri: [thinks] compound family?

Teacher: what subatomic particle is responsible for element identity?

Pri: em... Atomic parts?

Class except Jason: [laughs]

Jason: [shakes head] Pri...

Teacher: [shouts] Jason!

Jason: huh?

Teacher: [confidently] answer!

Jason: alkali metal is the family name for the group 1 or 1A elements and the subatomic particle responsible for element identity is proton.

Pri: [to herself] is Jason that intelligent?

Teacher: sit!

[the chairs were in twos, Jason sat down with Becca. There was only one free seat for Pri and it was behind Jason]

Pri: [to seat partner] hi!

Daniel: [ignores Pri]

Pri: [tp herself] is everyone here like Jason? [shakes head] no that's not possible! [to Daniel] what's your name?

Daniel: [glares at Pri]

Pri: just tell me your name, it's not like-

Teacher: Pri!

Pri: sorry [bows head] Ai!!!

SCENE THREE

[After class Pri walks to her locker, she secretly looks at Jason talking to his friends, she mostly sees him talking to Becca]

Demi: [to Pri] hi, I'm Demi!

Pri: [still looks at Jason]

Demi: [taps Pri]

Pri: oh! [looks at Demi]

Demi: I'm Demi, the girl you were staring at is Becca

Pri: hi! [looks at Becca]

Becca: [looks at Pri]

Pri: oh! [faces Demi] um...

Demi: I just want to welcome you to our school

Pri: [nods]

[Becca walks towards Pri]

Pri: oh...

Becca: hi I'm Becca! [smiles] I'm the head of the Dolphins

Pri: Dolphins?

Becca: the cheerleading team

Pri: [nods]

Becca: I saw you staring and I just thought you would like to join

Pri: oh I don't...

Becca: you have the body and everything so you can and feel free to seat with me at lunch [smiles]

Demi: Becca what are you up to?

Becca: excuse me? I'm just trying to make Pri feel welcome

Demi: Pri don't listen to her!

Becca: [to Pri] Caitlyn left the team, actually, she left the school

Pri: why?

Becca: she got knocked up but my point is we're having tryouts to fill in her place so you should join!

Pri: me?

Becca: who do you think I'm talking to?

Pri: um... Sure! [smiles]

Becca: follow me! [drags Pri with her]

Demi: Pri!

[Joshua and Jason are together, Joshua sees Pri with Becca]

Joshua: why's your girlfriend talking to Pri?

Jason: Joshua's not my girlfriend

[Becca and Pri walk towards Jason]

Pri: where are you taking me? [sees Jason] I don't think...

Becca: Jason!

Joshua: [waves hand]

Becca: hi Josh

Joshua: uh... I wasn't waving at you [looks at Pri]

Becca: oh... [looks at Pri]

Jason: [looks at Pri]

Pri: [to herself] why are they all looking at me?

Jason: [rolls eyes]

Becca: [to herself] she's such an idiot

Joshua: [smiles] why are the two of you looking at her like that? [to Pri] come on

[Pri and Joshua leave Jason and Becca]

Pri: why did you put that kind of attention on me?

Joshua: it's your first day here what you need is a lot of attention and being with Becca gives you a lot, being with me gives you-

[Joshua is interrupted by a girl, pretty, tall but not taller than Joshua. The girl holds Joshua's arm]

Cassandra: Joshua, who's this?

Pri: [to herself] isn't this the girl I saw in that picture in Joshua's room?

Joshua: [sighs] Pri, this is Cassandra and Cassandra this is Pri

Cassandra: Pri? What type of name is that?

Pri: [to herself] the way I feel standing with this girl, what's that word?... I feel intimidated [to Cassandra] actually I-

Joshua: that's not important, I actually think it's a cool name, don't you?

Cassandra: anything that's cool for you is cool for me! [Cassandra leaves with Joshua]

[Pri leans against a locker]

Pri: [to herself] Jason has Becca and Joshua has Cassandra, they're both taken! And what's wrong with that Cassandra? Who does she think she is hugging Joshua like that?!

[Nathan walks towards Pri]

Nathan: [downly] that's my locker

Pri: huh? Oh... [moves away]

[Nathan puts his book into the locker and brings out new ones]

Pri: [to herself] why's Nathan so dull? [to Nathan] Nathan?

Nathan: what?

Pri: what's wrong?

Nathan: I can't find my keys and that's where the key that unlocks my robot is!

Pri: oh! [remembers taking keys and dropping it in front of Jason's room] Jason! [runs]

Nathan: [to himself] I tell her my problem and she calls Jason's name? [shrugs] weird.

[a girl named Kim walks to Nathan]

Kim: hi Nathan!

Nathan: [startled, he drops his books on the floor]

[Kim helps him pick the books that fell from the floor]

Kim: I'll pick them! [bends down]

Nathan: [to himself] you again

Kim: [stands up and gives Nathan the books] I'm sorry I startled you!

Nathan: [collects books]

[Kim and Nathan stare at each other for a few minutes]

Nathan: you're the one who approached me, if you don't have anything to say I'll be leaving first

Kim: wait! I'm sorry about the incident yesterday!

INCIDENT YESTERDAY

[At the robotics club, everyone left except Nathan and Kim]

Nathan: [writing]

Kim: Nathan we'll get it next time

Nathan: [nods and continues writing]

[Kim kneels down in front of Nathan's chair facing him]

Nathan: [stops writing]

Kim: have you thought about it?

Nathan: yes

Kim: so what's your answer?

Nathan: if we were the only two people on earth, I'd take my chances mating with an ape

Kim: what's that supposed to mean?

Nathan: it means no, I don't want to be your boyfriend

Kim: [light chuckle] w-what?

Nathan: do you have a problem with your ear?

Kim: you don't like me?

Nathan: [sighs] I don't find you attractive but you're not repulsive either [continues writing]

Kim: [slaps Nathan] jerk! Are you allergic to girls or what?! [stands up]

Nathan: [no answer, he just continues writing]

Kim: [leaves] ugh!

NOW

Kim: wait! I'm sorry about the incident yesterday!

Nathan: [no answer]

Kim: it's just that... It feels as of you've been ignoring me all day

MEANWHILE...

[Pri looks for Jason, she sees him with Becca]

Pri: Jason!

Jason: [looks at Pri]

Becca: Pri?

Pri: did you see Nathan's key collection?

Jason: what does that have to do with you?

Pri: did you see it or not?!

Jason: which one?

Pri: wha-? I don't know just the key collection!

Jason: it's a bunch of keys and not a collection [lies] and I haven't seen it

[the schools bell rings]

Becca: [clears throat] I'm going to class [leaves]

Jason: you've ruined my fun [stands up and leaves]

Pri: that annoying thing!

Nathan: [hears bell] I'm going to class

Kim: Nathan I'm really sorry!

[Nathan leaves Kim]

Kim: [sighs]
