"What's wrong?"
"Hmm?"
"You looked sad, so what's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong, I'm just thinking."
"About what?"
"Anything that comes to mind, really, I don't know."
"Well, stop doing that and talk with me. You've been staring into space for a really long time and I'm bored."
"It's not my job to entertain you, find something else to do."
A sigh fell from the other's mouth, "Well, there's not exactly that much to do here, so you're really our only source of interest."
"Our? What do you me-"
"SO, what kind of things do you like to do in your life?"
"Why do you ask, I thought you already knew what my life is like?"
"I'm trying to start a conversation, you fool, now play along."
"Ok, jeez, I'll play along, but what do you want to talk about?"
"Anything that can help get rid of the boredom."
"You're a great help. How about we talk about space?"
"No, I'm not a big nerd like you, think of something better to talk about."
"What's wrong with liking space?" he muttered before thinking of something else. "How about we talk about you. You seem to know everything about me, but I don't know anything about you."
"We don't see a reason to tell you anything about us, think of something else."
"What? What do you mean 'we' and 'us', there's only two of us here."
"That's what you think..." the stranger's sentence broke off into strained laughter. One by one more laughter joined in with the first's, until all he could hear was shrieking laughter all around the padded room.
"Fool, that's what yo-"
"All you fu-"
"I want you to suf-"
"Kill m-"
"I'm so al-"
"Just di-"
"We're all goi-"
"Wha-"
"Noth-"
"Let m-"
"We're all just in your mind."
"SHUT IT, ALL OF YOU!" Silence. "Now, no one likes it when we all talk over each other, so let's not do that." They turned back to the one actual person in the room, who was slowly rocking themself, crying.
"What's wrong?"
"Hmm?"
