So there's this place in central Illinois called Wildlife prairie park.
It's like a zoo, kind of. But it only has animals that are indigenous to this area. But not only that, all of the animals either are going through rehab, or can't survive by themselves in the wild anymore.

The entire thing is very natural looking, and the enclosures are spacey and non artificial. The park isn't government funded, so they really are worried more about the animals than they are money. Most of the workers are well educated volunteers, too, so most of the money can go to the animals.

Not only that, but they have seasonal events and interactive history lessons that include the old church-schoolhouse, the restored farmstead house, and the animals.

Seriously, if you ever come up to Illinois, you should go here. Especially for those of you who think zoos are inhumane.
