Tracey's POV
------
"Lively." I said quietly in her ear.
"Meaah?" She grumbled, tightening her closed eyes a little.
"Lively." I whispered again softly. "Time to wake up." I shook her gently, like how- ...nevermind...
"Neeaah!" She grunted loudly in denial.
"Okay, okay." I said, backing away calmly, a smile relaxing on my face.
I got up and left the room, shutting the door behind me as I backed away, getting one last look at her. She smiled wide and snuggled up more in her sleep, making warmth sink into my cheeks before the door latched.
I sigh a heavy sigh. 'I missed her...but I can't have her back...' I thought negatively in my heart. '...but she didn't miss me...and probably didn't want me...'
I sat down at a table in the lobby of the Pokémon Center to clear my head. '...I know she went out of her comfort zone just to talk to me at first...but I don't even know what she really thought about me...'
I rubbed my temples, but it doesn't help. '...I guess she didn't have to be my friend, but she was anyway...I didn't even know why she would keep coming back...I liked it when she did, but I don't understand why...Why did she want to talk to me?...Why me??...What would a pretty girl like her want to talk to a shy 8 year old boy like I use to be?...'
"Are you okay young man?"
I look up to see a tall man with short, spiked, brown hair that was probably in his mid to upper thirties. He gave me a slightly pondering look, that became a slim smile.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked, with a pleased sense to him.
He made me think for a moment, before I realized and redness came to me in the face.
"No, sir. I don't think so." I lied. He couldn't see me like this. Not after what-No, who I was thinking about.
"I think you do," He said. "Now, what brings you back to our neck of the woods?" He asked, taking the seat across from me.
I knew what he wanted to bring up and was making small talk before I open up. So I went ahead and asked.
"How has she been?..." I asked the man quietly, looking up at him, wanting to ask him every thing I've wondered over the past 5 years.
His smile faded into an apologetic look of sorrow and worry.
"I guess you haven't heard." He paused. "He's gone...her brother, Ryan."
I didn't need to confirm what I've just heard. We sat there in silence for awhile till I decided to stray away from the topic and ask him more about my old friend.
"..Um...other than that..What happened while I was, you know...gone?"
His expression sent me a message of "Could you be a bit more specific?" And, "Do really doubt about yourself that much?"
'Gee, I guess he really does want to get personal here...' I thought.
"Did she miss me?..."

Alive's POV
------
"Alive, you have been through the unthinkable. The ones that you've always held closest in your heart seem to have cast you aside."
"'Scuse me?" I asked with an uninterested scoff and a raised eyebrow.
"You felt like it wouldn't happen to you but it did anyway, and you want to know why." he said, floating slightly to his left through the clouds of the heavens. "Because you feel something deep inside you that says that there's a reason for it."
Okay, this cannot be a dream. I'd never dream of such absurd poetry. Something isn't right...
"Ive, there're others that feel this way as well and the only solution is to find them. Take a look at the ones who have already found each other." He said, with confidence written all over him. Three human forms were shaped out of the sky in their respective frame of swirling clouds the shape of a long, horizontal oval, similar to an old-fashioned mirror. "Which look familiar to you?"
Two out of three of the forms were completely greyed out, hiding their true identities, but I could tell that they were teenage girls that were a little older than myself.
The first one on the left had wavy hair that seemed to fan out over her relaxed shoulders. I couldn't see much detail, but I could tell that she was probably around 18 or so.
The second, a girl with freakishly long hair that went down to her thigh. It was straight, but went more inward toward her body the farther down it went. She was probably just a year or two older than me by the way she looks.
I recognized the third one, making the clouds actually show me who it was, in color, like an unlocked character in a video game.
"Tracey!? You can't be serious!" I asked the angelic figure of my beloved brother. "Why are you telling me this?" I asked with a sense of unsure curiosity, that wanted some answers.
His face soon accustomed by a frown.
"Well... you see Ive... there are somethings in life that are unavoidable..."
"Unavoidable...?" I repeated him, worry trickling in my heart.
"...Like, being...being one of them..."
"One of who!?" I yelled, very uncharacteristically of me.
"One of The Chosen! There! Happy?! You're one of The Chosen out of The Purest of The Pure Hearted to play a huge role in the prophecy okay?!! I can't control it anymore than you could've when you were born with..."
...
His shouts faded away as my head pounded with the powerful impulses of the nerves that wrecked my mind on contact with the striking news that rattled in my ears.
...
'No!...Oh, PLEASE NO!' I kept repeating in my head as I backed away from my ghastly brother, falling on my back out of fear.
It can't be...it just can't...
I can't be in the prophecy! I don't want to be! I'll be forced to stop my journey, and I don't want that. All I ever wanted on this journey...was to learn what it was like to be a kid again.
Ever since I had to say goodbye to my best friend a long time ago, I haven't been the same energetic pig tailed girl I once was.
Back then, my life seemed like a fairy-tale. A perfect childhood, strong friendships, and even the perfect setup for an everlasting love story between two childhood friends. I knew that I'd be a long time before we'd find each other again. So why was I so cheerful....so childish...so..happy...?
When he moved away, I slowly began to realize...that I was so foolish. So so foolish...I was so foolish...that I actually thought that the distance was no obstacle...in our friendship...in our childhood..in our....'fairy-tale'...
I wasn't that sweet little girl anymore...
I stopped playing outside, or even going outside in general. For every time I did...I would get this sick feeling in my stomach, experience visions...of every memory, good or bad...and shake....laugh.....or cry....like he abandoned me to clean up the memories we left behind.
So after all those years of containing myself in my room, which is where I felt safest, it's no surprise that Ash and I drifted apart from each other, unintentionally breaking apart what little hope there was of reforming our trio when we all found each other again.
So all I had left was Ryan, Eve, and my parents. That is...until he left me too.
...I would cry right now, if is wasn't for the fact that I'm not actually talking to anyone, but an invisible audience.
But that was
I may have only lived in my new life for a day, but it's all I could've ever wished for! To finally be out of Pallet Town and on my Pokémon Journey! I want to explore my home region of Kanto, and discover what it has to offer! To finally get to see the many wondrous caves, ruins, and mountains, and see the Legendary Birds of the Kanto region, and maybe Mew and Mewtwo, the 150th and fabled 151th with my own two eyes!
Pokémon Journeys-are for exploitation!
And I'm not about to give it all away!
"...No. I don't know what you're talking about brother. My destiny is for me to decide, and me alone." I said to his shocked expression. "My heart isn't pure. You of all people should know that."
"And that's where you're wrong! You're heart is as pure as your intentions." He spoke softly, and wholeheartedly.
"Wha- My intentions? What do you mean?" I asked in a frustrated fit of confusion.
"Ive..." My brother sighed. "...There's no other way to explain it. But your actions don't speak your heart... Please understand." He said, as he floated down to my level and held up his hands that were now around mine. He may be dead, but I knew that this is what I'd missed the most.
"You have hurt many people who held you close to their hearts. Whether as a friend like Ash, or as the one friend who always made them smile whenever they needed them to."
It seemed like a light bulb went off in my head...or so the saying goes. His words could only make think of one person, till I realized that he didn't quite fit the description...but only one other could.
'..Tray...'
Ryan looked right into my expectant, green eyes. I knew that whenever he was like this...he meant business.
"You may not yet realize...but you have always had goodness in you, and kindness in your heart.....You have always had your ways with people. No matter how much knowledge you share with others...you have always treated them with the same kindness and compassion as those in your heart...and that's desirable in mankind..."
My eyes had determination, my ears had opened, and my heart had been touched by his words that could melt the polar ice caps. I listened to his words and their meaning, taking in every last syllable.
I can't avoid his trustworthy truth...for it has...and always will be...right...
"You may not yet understand the big deal about what good the others say about you...about how kind, how smart, how strong, how funny, how quirky, how mature, and how beautiful you truly are...but you really are that special.....There isn't anything more rare then to naturally have those qualities as a human being...in this world of hate...confusion...and destruction..."
He looked deeper in my eyes, forcing all attention on him. Like the world around us was drawn to him by gravity.
"You- Alive Marianne Gotcha, are a Chosen. The bearers of righteousness, wisdom, and empathy towards all people and Pokémon of the World. Alive...you are the Chosen who is gifted of Selflessness...Forgiveness... and Inspiration. The Chosen who values Trust...Unity...and Friendship..... Alive...you are among the Purest of The Pure Hearted."

Tracey's POV
------
I was sitting on a small stool that I moved next to Lively's bed. Her eyelids softly closed over her eyes, shielding their summer green glow I admire and her hair still has the light fragrance of cherry blossoms.
I knew deep down inside that it should've felt wrong to watch her like this, because to her...I'm just a boy she met yesterday, but she is much more than that to me. To me, she is my best friend that I had to leave behind a long time ago. The friend that I had promised to find again for our Pokémon Journey together. The friend that I missed almost every day away from her. My best friend that I had finally found again yesterday after about 5 years, that didn't even recognize me. I can't believe that it's really been 5 years now since I moved away.
"I wonder if she remembers..." I sighed. I wish things could just go back to the way things use to be.
When we were 8.
When we snuck away from Ryan and played when we weren't supposed to.
When she would always make me smile.
When Ash would always do that one ridiculous thing to make us laugh.
When she would always try to cheer me up to make me more confident about coming out of my shell.
When Ash would always act obnoxious in front of me to make me nervous until she told him off.
I miss our little trio, and wish that we could just start over and go on our Pokémon Journeys together. Just like we planned to do when all of us could go.
But now that I've caught up to them over the years, I see that neither of them remembered those days...or remembered me. I really don't think I've changed that much, for them to not recognize. To not realize. To not remember.
I'm not as surprised about Ash not remembering back then. He was only 6 years old and I didn't really get to talk to him because of how shy I was.
But I really did think that she'd remember. I know I'd never forget the time I had to say goodbye to her...or her.
I reached into the deepest parts of my backpack and pulled out the pink and white Pokéball I was searching for. Sure it's a girlie looking Pokéball, but it's the memories of what this symbolizes that makes me happy to know that I've kept it close to me. I stared at the minimized capsule and its special heart design and thought of the day before I was given this Pokémon.
That goodbye was one of my best memories. Though sad, it is one of the greatest memories we had together that I can still recall in great detail.
÷÷÷ Flashback ÷÷÷
"Um...Ive, can we talk alone...?" I said nervously, like the shy 8 year old I was, wanting to get away from the people around me.
She nodded slightly, looking out for her brother to see if the coast was clear. We scurried up the stairs to her bedroom, away from the boisterous party in her living room downstairs that was being held in my honor. She plopped on her bed in a childish manner, while I just sat on the edge. I didn't feel that comfortable around that time because I was that shy.
"So what did ya wanna say?" She asked, in a childish way, her dark pigtails bouncing off her shoulders with each word.
"Eevee!" Her Eevee cheered, before it jumped on her bed and quickly advanced in to her lap, being just as goofy as the 8 year old girl.
"I was just thinking...What do you think it'll be like..you know...at my new house? I don't know if I'll be able to fit in or not. What do you think?" I asked, a little anxious about the fact that I have less than 24 hours left before I have to go.
"Don't worry about it so much Tray! You'll be fine! Even if it doesn't start out okay, it'll all be alright in the end!" She explained reassuringly, still keeping an upbeat attitude.
"But what if it's not!? What if I'm too scared to talk to anyone!? What if nobody likes me?! W-what if I stop talking again!? Then all of this would've been for nothing and I'll never have friends again!" I panicked, my voice cracking a little bit more than I thought it would.
"Woah! Slow down! What made you think that that's why we're friends?" She said defensively, alarmed at my panic.
"Cause, you said that you didn't like seeing me being all shy and stuff and said that if I never talked to anyone, no one would see what was really like." I explained.
"Well, yeah, but I never meant it like that. I was just saying that so you'll open up some more. I didn't think you'd think of it as the only thing making us friends." She pouted in a sad tone, like a kid that was told to clean their room, which actually didn't look too bad by the way.
"Oh, I'm sorry for thinking that. I just assumed that you didn't want to do anything else but play." I admitted with guilt tugging at me. "But if that's not why...Then, why were you my friend?" I asked hesitantly, as if I was thinking aloud.
"Were!?" She laughed with a goofy grin. "What, am I not still going to be your BFF even when you move away? Doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of us being best friends 'forever'?"
"You mean...you'll really be my friend forever?" I said surprised.
"Forever and always!" She smiled from ear to ear. "We can't let a little bit of distance get the best of us! Friends forever?"
"Forever and always!" I mimicked her, smiles on all three of our faces.
"Eeevee~! Eevee! Eve!" Eve agreed with bundles of energy.
÷÷÷ Flashback End ÷÷÷
I sighed to myself and started to walk out of the room before I heard the sounds of her hair sliding off her face as it rose.
"..Tray?..."
I slowly rised my head and looked into her shocked, emerald eyes, but I stopped myself from getting my hopes up. That was the nickname she called me. The one she use to call me, and the one I liked. Tray...

You shipping it yet?
If you do, pls comment with some ship name ideas! I was thinking that it could be named something about their childhood, and how they didn't put the pieces together until just now.
Any ideas!?

(A/N: I'm sorry for the rough ending, I thought that I had something there. I guess I changed my mind and backed up to a point to where I could try again and never did. Also, I realize that after looking at this, I really have changed it 2 million times cause I got carried away then and made the their relationship advance WAY too fast, but before you think dirty, it never got to the point where I would've had to mark the story mature.)
