Chapter 32

Warpsite Pov

"Honestly, why can't she accept the fact that she's hallucinating?" I pursed my lips as Ajax glared at the hysterical and desperate Akagi.

"Quiet you, the Sakura girls. Especially the ones with animal features have better senses than us, you know? So maybe Commander did return." Exeter replied as she sipped on her tea.

"Hmpf... It has been eight years, Exeter. It's like, he just vanished. Like how the Mirror Sea just briefly erases our presence while inside it." She continued, an annoyed look on her face.

"Yes, and we always returned haven't we? Even the Iris that got stuck there for a month has returned safely." Exeter replied, now more exasperated than before.

"Plus, Commander hasn't broken a single promise yet. So I will continue to believe in him." Exeter added in a finalized tone. Leaving Ajax to pout but concede on her point.

"Don't forget, he loves Warspite a little to much to just give up in wherever he is currently." I blushed as Exeter gave me a teasing smile, but the confidence boost did help me.

"He loves us all equally... Well, those in his Harem of Wives anyway. I'm sure the thought of having to marry almost all of us will definitely drive him insane." Ajax added with her own smirk.

"Seriously? I just took a break from my duties, and now I'm being teased?" I complained, though no hard feelings.

"That's because every time I look at you, I can't help but remember how Commander keeps gushing over you." Exeter replied.

The memories of him constantly gushing and being a helicopter mom in human terms. Came crashing down to me.

"Oh~ She's blushing~" Ajax teased, making me pout as I attempt to reduce the redness of my cheeks.

The two basked in my embarrassment, which thankfully I was saved by Hood coming along to join us.

"Oh? Seems like the festivities have started before I arrived. Due tell me." Hood giggled as she sat down.

"Oh nothing much, just teasing Warpsite about Commander being an overly attentive husband." Ajax replied, making Hood smile in fondness.

"Ah, yes... Those were the days... Apologies for suddenly ruining the mood, but I came bearing some odd news." We all perked at that.

"What? Is the United Government still pushing to give us a replacement commander?" Ajax nearly snarled at the mention of the current situation with the government.

"Yes, but they really can't do anything about it. We do not take kindly to the idea of replacing Commander with a mere figurehead. A puppet to control us." Hood replied, her lips turning to a frown.

"But that isn't what I mean... Remember the recent discovery of the Bulins within Commander's quarters? That hidden room filled with advanced monitoring equipment?" We all nodded.

The place was directly beneath Commander's desk, and in order to access it. One has to be fully seated on the chair and activate a hidden lever within the compartment.

"Yes, what of it?" Exeter replied.

"The monitors are active." Our eyes widened.

"Impossible... Not even our most tech savvy Bulins could turn them on. Bloody hell we even tried attaching them to the main grit and didn't even turn on!" Exeter exclaimed, though quickly apologizing for the crude language.

"Well, did the monitors show something?" I asked, curious as to why they would suddenly just turn on.

"Nothing much, other than showing a satellite image of Point Azur? That's it." Hood replied, sipping on her tea.

"Huh, truly odd... But, knowing how paranoid Commander can be. Could it be something might happen soon?" Ajax commented, placing a hand beneath her chin as her brows furrow in thought.

"You have a point there... But hopefully it's no-"

!!!!

I covered my ears as a sudden loud alarm blared throughout the island.

"Warning! Warning! Warning! Dungeon Break imminent! Portal north of the island!"

A synthetic, female voice spoke through the speakers. Warning us something about a portal break.

"What was that?!" Hammann yelled as she got back onto her feet.

"Whatever it was, it doesn't sound good!" Enterprise added as she nodded to Belfast.

"Everyone! Battle stations now!" Wales yelled as all of the Kansen within the mess hall filed out quickly to assess the situation.

I picked up a disoriented Javelin on the way out, and I saw Laffey being carried by Ayanami while Nimi was helping Ark Royal with helping the little destroyers out of the school. Langley, while helping with the evacuation, was also keeping an eye on Ark Royal.

3rd Pov

Gasps echoed through the crowd as we all stood there and watched as a giant Blue Portal floated in the sky above the water.

"What in the world is that?" A disbelieving Amagi said. Her eyes glued on the portal.

"Whatever it is, the announcement clearly said something is going to happen." Scharnhorst replied. Her visible eye glaring as she thought of strategies to counter whatever the portal spits out on us.

"Are we sure this isn't the work of a Siren?" Avrora asked as she moved closer near her sisters.

"Negative... This isn't one of ours." All of us turned around and saw the Empress floating above us as she frowned upon seeing the portal.

"Arbiter... I thought you and your Sirens have decided to no longer meddle with this timeline." Bismarck narrowed her eyes as she spoke.

"Fear not, Bismarck. While we did promise to no longer meddle with Humanity... Our purpose is still to make sure Humanity survives through any means necessary." Arbiter replied.

Yes, this is their true purpose. After the war. Commander has forced Arbiter to reveal their true purpose, and after Commander and a select few Kansen were taken to their main base. We have discovered that their "Creator" was Humanity themselves but in the far flung future. What we have learned that day made us realize how important we are and the continued survival of Humanity.

"You believe this is one of those events that starts the downfall of Humanity." Enterprise stated. But to our surprise... Arbiter shook her head.

"No... Rather, this is new to all the other timelines we have visuals on. Whatever this is, it's not natural or part of the eventual future." She stated, as two portals appeared behind her.

Out came both Purifier and Observer Alpha. Both also serious and frowning.

"Something is coming." True to Observer's words. The blue portal shimmered slightly before cre- no. Monsters started pouring out of the portal. Their skin is blue with hardened scales. Hands ending in sharp claws and holding a trident. They all released a battle cry as they swam with incredible speeds towards us.

"Everyone! Deploy Riggings!" Wales commanded and we all followed. The destroyers on the water, alongside the submarines, while many of the battle cruisers stayed on land to provide support.

"Fire!"

The sounds of cannon fire erupted from our riggings. Explosive shells bombarding the horde of monsters with effective results... However, their speeds far surpassed ours on the water, as they already had reached the coast.

"Destroyers, do not engage in close quarters!" Bismarck commanded and all of them retreated to land. And true to her observations. The snake-like sea monsters are slower on land, but still faster than humans.

"Keep firing! Do not let them get too close to you!" Wales continued as she fired shell after shell at the enemies.

"There's too many of them!" Eugen yelled over the sounds of cannon fire.

"Just keep firing! We don't know how capable they are, so distance is our ally!" Atago replied. Yelling in an attempt to be heard by all.

"Shit! They're too close!" Nevada yelled as she pulled out her side arm, given to her by her husband, and fired. The small weapon merely bounced off the scales of the monster, to which she holstered the weapon and attempted to wrestle the beast with less than ideal results.

But thankfully, Takao swooped in and with her katana. Landed a solid hit on the chest of the monster.

"Everyone! Small arms are ineffective against them! Use your machine guns!" Takao yelled as she continued to use her katana on the monsters.

Warspite took her advice and used her AAs on them. While effective, the smaller bullets are slow to truly deal a fatal blow.

"Evasive maneuvers!" Arbiter yelled as her cannons lit up with energy.

The warning came in handy as each Kansen made their moves to avoid getting shot at by the powerful shots from the Empress' rigging.

As they fought, the ground suddenly shook as a shockwave spread across the battlefield.

Both Kansen and Magic Beasts paused as the Portal suddenly grew larger and released a far more powerful Beast.

A variant of a Blue Venom Fanged Kasaka.

The Magic Beast itself was triple in size than the original, its orange eyes glowed red with hunger and malicious intelligence. It's blue scales decorated with black ones that seemed to form a tribal marking of sorts.

With a roar... It swam towards them.

Eyy! Here we go! Azur Lane Baby! And what's this? Solo Leveling? Fuck yeah! The mod is cool, buggy. But cool! Anyways. Expect a bit more of combat related mods to appear next chapter. That's all and SOUL out!
