¥ The Spirit Of Competition ¥

I do not own Legend Of Korra or The Last Airbender, all credit goes to the people who made the two happen. I only own Kanna and the things I happen to make up along the way. Most of the script comes from the person who created it. Descriptions come from the show I've watched and the things I've read.

Kanna Kya

Kanna tiredly rubs her face as she listens to the other Equalists talk around her. She glances up when she hears footsteps nearing her. She emits a sigh seeing that it's Amon.

"What do you want?" She snaps.

"We had a deal, Kanna. I'm upholding mine, but you still need to uphold yours." Amon states.

"And what would I need to do?" She growls.

"How well do you know the pro-bending arena?" He questions.

"Oh hell no." She says when she realizes why he'll want to know.

Korra is bending a large water blob before she splits it in two, and rapidly launches each smaller water bullet in a different direction than the other. Bolin forms earth disks to block the water coming towards him. He grunts and slightly slides backward as the water hits his disks. Mako moves back and twists, creating a fire arc to vaporize the water blob. He smirks before firing two fire punches. His fire attacks make Bolin's earth disks to crumble into small pieces. Korra quickly attacks Mako with a water blast which he easily jumps over. Bolin launches an earth disk at Korra, forcing her to block it with water. Mako punches fire at the two and they block it with their respective elements. A fire blast nails Bolin in the stomach causing him to be flung backwards. As he's falling, he throws an earth disk at Korra. It hits her in the stomach after she sent a water blob at Mako. It hits Mako in the face which makes him fall several feet from where he was originally. The room is filled with laughter as the three teenagers get back up to their feet.

"It's been great having you at so many back-to-back practices, Korra." Mako admits, taking his helmet off.

"Feels good to be back, although Tarrlok isn't too happy about my leave of absence." Korra smiles widely.

"Hey, you joined the Fire Ferrets before you joined his task force." Bolin defends her.

"Okay, come on, team huddle time!" Mako yells. The team huddles up, smiling at each other. "It's our first match of the tournament tonight. I know the three of us haven't been a team for very long, but even so, the Fire Ferrets have never been this good. Are we ready?"

"We're ready!" Korra and Bolin simultaneously reply. Korra frowns slightly, thinking about how Korra wouldn't be here tonight to cheer her on. She still hasn't told the brothers about Kanna joining Amon. Korra knows Kanna the best and she knows that girl wouldn't do anything to harm Korra. Joining the Equalists? Korra scoffs at that because Kanna wouldn't have joined willingly. It took Korra an hour to come to the conclusion after the fight with Amon because Tenzin kept muttering about Kanna and how this wasn't like her. Suddenly, Asami walks into the practice room with their sponsored uniforms.

"Not quite, you'll need these." Asami says as she holds up a shirt with the Future Industries logo on it.

"Hey, Asami." Mako greets with a lovesick look on his face.

"Good morning, sweetie." Asami sweetly says. Korra looks at the couple in annoyance.

"These new uniforms look great!" Mako compliments.

"You look great, champ!" Asami and Mako rub the tips of their noses together. Outside the window is a black figure watching, going unseen and unheard from everyone in the room as the figure gags in disgust. Bolin has a 'really' look on. Korra also openly shows her disgust before going back to normal when Mako turns to look at her.

"Well, teammates, I'll see you before the match tonight. Asami and I have a lunch date." Mako announces.

"Okay, we'll check you guys later, you know, we'll see you when we see ya." Bolin happily waves at them. Korra picks up her bag in silence. The black figure winces at that. Mako and Asami leave. Bolin takes that moment to slide over to Korra with his hands behind his head. "So, Korra. There they go, here we are, all alone in the gym, just you and me, two alonepeople. Together. Alone." He flirts.

"Ah, I gotta head back to the air temple to train with Tenzin. See ya!" Korra leaves, not seeing the look of disappointment on Bolin's face at his failed attempt of getting a date. The black figure snorts in amusement before disappearing to follow Korra.

"Poor Bolin.." Her whisper is carried by the wind.

The two brothers are hanging out in the attic. Mako is preparing dinner while Bolin is preparing a bath for Pabu. Pabu doesn't want to get a bath and fights Bolin, but Bolin finally manages to dip Pabu into the tub of water. Pabu shakes the water off.

"Work with me here, Pabu! You wanna look spic and span in your new uniform, don't you? So, what do you think of Korra, in a "girlfriend" sort of way?" Bolin suddenly asks Mako.

"She's great! But I think it makes more sense for me to go for Asami." Mako comments.

"I was talking about a girlfriend for me! Leave some ladies for the rest of us!" Bolin says in annoyance.

"I know, that's what I thought you meant." Mako says.

"Well?" Bolin trails off, looking at him.

"I don't know, Bo. It doesn't seem like a good idea for you to date Korra." Mako admits.

"You just said she was great two seconds ago." Bolin points out.

"Yeah, Korra is a great athlete and the Avatar and stuff, but I don't know if she's really "girlfriend material". She's more like a pal." Mako states.

"Bro, you're nuts! Korra and I are perfect for each other: she's strong, I'm strong; she's fun, I'm fun; she's beautiful, I'm gorgeous! Okay, I don't care what you think, I'm gonna ask Korra out." Bolin says.

"Look, it just isn't smart to date a teammate, especially during the tournament. Keep your head out of the clouds and your priorities straight, okay? Besides, why not Kanna?" Mako cocks an eyebrow in questioning. Bolin coughs.

"Me? Date Kanna? Oh no. Kanna is talented and amazing and pretty and she's more into waterbenders than earthbenders." He pauses. "Isn't she dating Hasook?" Bolin inquires quickly. Mako smirks.

"Hasook is dating a nonbender. Kanna is indeed single." Mako informs Bolin. Bolin gets a thoughtful look on his face before turning to face Pabu.

"What do you think, Pabu?" Pabu tilts his head to the side while making a noise.

Korra, Jinora, and Ikki are feeding fruit to ring-tailed lemurs in the snow at the Air Temple.

"So, how's it going with the tall, dreamy firebender boy? You've been spending a lot of time together lately." Jinora asks curiously.

"Oooh, yeah! Tell us all about the magical romance." Ikki teases. Korra laughs. A figure hidden in a tree covers their mouth to muffle their giggles.

"What? Listen to you two, I-I'm not interested in Mako or any romantic stuff. Besides he's all into that prissy, beautiful, elegant, rich girl ... but let's just pretend for a second I am interested in him. What would I do?" Korra stares at the two younger girls with a desperate plead for help in her voice.

"Ooh! I just read a historical saga where the heroine fell in love with the enemy general's son, who's supposed to marry the princess. You should do what she did!" Jinora excitingly says.

"Tell me!" Korra yells.

"She rode a dragon into battle and burned down the entire country. Then she jumped into a volcano. It was so romantic!" Korra frowns more and more at each word passing through Jinora's lips.

"Uhh.." Korra trails off.

"No, no, no! The best way to win a boy's heart is to brew a love potion of rainbows and sunsets that makes true lovers sprout wings and fly into a magical castle in the sky, where they get married and eat clouds with spoons and use stars as ice cubes in their moonlight punch. Forever and ever and ever!" She says very quickly before airbending upwards from her excitement.

"The volcano is starting to make more sense to me now." Pema's laugh can be heard. Korra turns around to see the pregnant woman on the path. "Oh, hey Pema. Uh, when did you get here?"

"I'm always here." She smiles creepily and the three girls laugh nervously as Ikki's eyes widen in horror. "But trust me, I know what you're going through. Years ago I was in the exact the same situation, with Tenzin." Pema admits.

"Daddy was in love with someone else before you?" Ikki asks in utter surprise.

"That's right." Pema says.

"Lin." Korra whispers, remembering when Kanna told her about Lin and Tenzin dating before tenzin broke her heart. "So what did you do?" Korra inquires.

"Well, for the longest time, I did nothing. I was so shy and scared of rejection, but watching my soul mate spend his life with the wrong woman became too painful. So I hung my chin out there and I confessed my love to Tenzin. And the rest is history." Pema answers.

"Wooow!" The three younger girls shout.

"Lalalalala. Sing a happy song. Lalalalala. Sing it all day long." Kanna sings, eating some chips while watching Korra and her cousins from a tree. She groans and hits the back of her head against the tree. "I'm so bored." She admits to the sky. "I'm sorry guys." She whispers with sadden eyes. "I'm so sorry." She takes out a pen and writes something on the bag before vanishing.

The bag gently falls to the ground.

"Is Kanna going to be here today? I haven't seen her in awhile." Bolin inquires making Mako turn to face Korra. Korra scratches the back of her head.

"I'm sorry guys. She won't be here today. She's really busy mastering water bending and babysitting Tenzin's kids." Korra says nervously. The three get in position to make their way onto the arena.

"Folks, after a year of waiting the Pro-bending Championship is finally here. Tonight is the first set of matches in our single elimination sixteen team bracket. And I gotta tell ya, these are the most tenacious and talented bending trios this arena has ever seen." Shiro Shinobi says into the microphone.

"Introducing our first team, the Future Industries Fire Ferrets! And their opponents, the Red Sands Rabaroos!" The ring announcer announces. The match between the Fire Ferrets and the Rabaroos starts. Unknown the everyone, a couple black figures entire the arena and hide in the shadows.

"Remember, this is a covert mission. We are here to observe how good these people are and how easily they can be taken down." A female in black hisses into an ear piece. She gaze around, seeing all the other figures nod their heads. She watches the match and smiles softly seeing how well the Fire Ferrets are doing.

"What an explosive opening volley. Both teams quickly recover and unleash a barrage of bending. I am astonished with the level of improvement displayed here by the Fire Ferrets. No wonder the Avatar has been absent from the papers lately. She's obviously had her nose to the grindstone in the gym. The Ferrets advance into Rabaroo territory and are holding nothing back. Nice sprawl there by Mako. Bolin strikes, Ula dodges, and all three Rabaroos are down. The Fire Ferrets easily take round one." Shiro describes the fight.

"Round two!"

"The Rabaroos are looking for payback and they go straight after Bolin. Korra comes to his defense and water-whacks Umi back into zone two! The Ferrets are on fire tonight and they win round two."

"Round three!"

"With the Rabaroos down two rounds they'll need a knockout to win, and with the way the Fire Ferrets are playing I don't see that happening. These Ferrets are working together like a well-oiled bending machine. Bolin passes Adi back into zone two and the Ferrets get the green light to advance. The Rabaroos are just fighting to stay at their feet at this point. Out goes Adi, and Ula, and Umi! "

"All three rounds go to the Future Industries Fire Ferrets to win the opening match of the tournament!" Korra, Mako and Bolin cheer in happiness.

"Everything is going according to plan." The female says into the ear piece. "Report back to Amon." She turns and leaves the arena.

"That's what I'm talking about!" Bolin turns to the audience. "Thank you, thank you very much! Thank you all you fans!"

"Wow, we were really connecting out there in that ring." Mako says as he and Korra are in the changing room.

"Yeah! You know, I feel like the two of us have been connecting really well outof the ring, too." Korra admits.

"Uh, sure." Mako says uncomfortably.

"So, I was thinking we should spend some time together." Korra commands.

"Oh, we've been spending lots of time together." Mako states.

"I mean outside of the gym, and not while searching for kidnapped family members or fighting chi blockers." Korra crosses her arms.

"I don't know. Asami and I have-" Mako gets cut off.

"Look, I really like you and I think we are meant for each other!" Korra quickly turns around and hides her face with her arm, blushing lightly.

"Korra, I'm really sorry, but I just don't feel the same way about you." Mako gently informs Korra.

"Forget I ever said anything..." Korra trails off. Asami walks into the room with Pabu on her shoulder.

"Congratulations, guys! You were so amazing out there." Asami kisses Mako on the cheek. Mako and Korra look uncomfortably at each other. Korra takes a seat and Bolin takes a seat next to her.

"So, Korra, I was thinking, you and me, we could get some dinner together, sort of a date situation." Bolin says.

"Oh, that's really sweet, but I don't think so. I don't feel very date-worthy." Korra admits.

"Are you kidding me? You're the smartest, funniest, toughest, buffest, talentedest, incrediblest girl in the world!" Bolin excitingly states.

"You really feel that way about me?" Korra laughs.

"I felt that way since the moment I saw you! Trust me, I know we're gonna have so much fun together." Bolin winks.

"You know what? I could use some fun. Okay, sure!" Korra agrees.

"Yes! Who's the luckiest guy in the world? Right here, Bolin!" Bolin cheers. Mako watches while holding Asami. Asami clings into him and rests her head on his shoulder. Mako frowns, still thinking about Korra and Bolin while hoping it would've been Kanna and Bolin.

Kanna does a cartwheel to the left, successfully dodging a policeman. She throws her hands towards him and a jet of water nails him in the stomach. He slides back a couple feet. She ducks and kicks her foot out to knock the policewoman, who was sneaking up on her from behind, down to the ground. She bends her water to wrap around the two and clenches her fists. The water turns into ice. She sighs before bolting away to hide in the shadows as she creeps along a banister attached to a wall.

"Hasook to Kanna. Are you in position?" Hasook voice emits from the ear piece. Hasook's bending was taken away from him by Amon. He now serves as an Equalist because Amon promises to give his bending back.

"Kanna to Hasook, I am in position. Waiting for orders to take the policemen out." Kanna replies, locking her eyes onto her targets. Amon ordered a group of Equalist to take out a group of well trained policemen before the final match of Pro-bending. He didn't want this group to interfere with his plan.

"Take them out." Amon orders. In a flash, the group of Equalists drop from the buildings and begin to attack the policemen. Kanna quickly destroys any communication device so they can't call for back up. Her arms move in a circular motion as water behind her begins to rise up in a giant blob. Her arms go out into a t and the water blob breaks, trapping the group of policemen in a whirlpool. Kanna flinches while listening to their screams. She clenches her fists tightly and the whirlpool becomes ice. She glances to her left when Hasook drops from the building to beside her.

"Hasook to Amon, Kanna has successfully trapped the group in ice. Waiting for your next orders." Hasook says before turning to Kanna. He places a hand on her shoulder. "You're doing what you have to do. Stop hating yourself over it."

"Stop hating myself? I can't, Hasook. I'm suppose to be a good guy. I'm suppose to be protecting people, but instead I'm hurting them." Kanna holds her right arm with her left arm with a sadden look on her face.

"You're protecting Korra." Hasook says. "That's your main job in life. It doesn't matter how you protect her, as long as you protect her." He playfully nudges Kanna with his shoulder. She nudges him back, but harder which makes him stumble back. He narrows his eyes before shoving. She growls and shoves him back. In a matter of seconds, the two are full blown wrestling on the ground.

"Kanna and Hasook, how do you two feel about going to Narook's Seaweed Noodlery?" Amon suddenly asks. Hasook and Kanna stop in their wrestling match to exchange a look with one another.

Bolin and Korra are eating in Narook's Seaweed Noodlery, Naga and Lee are both resting in front of the door. Kanna tip toes over and gives the two animals a giant kiss on their foreheads. She scratches under Lee's chin.

"I know, boy, I know." She whispers when Lee whimpers as she starts to walk away. Lee quickly launches himself on top of her shoulder, curling himself around her neck to make himself look like a scarf. She links arms with Hasook. "You remember our mission?" She questions.

"Gather intel about Tahno and the Wolfbats." Hasook replies. "Do you think Korra told everyone about you being an Equalist? I really don't want to fight her and Bolin tonight. I'm also pretty sure that I pulled a muscle when we attacked the police." He groans, stretching his shoulder out.

"Korra most likely only told my family. She wouldn't dare tell Bolin or Mako without knowing for sure that I joined willingly." Kanna states.

"You guys really know each other very well." Hasook points out and the two sit in the back corner where they can see everyone in the restaurant.

"We've been friends since we were kids. It's kinda hard not to know everything about the other." Kanna says. She snorts, seeing Bolin slurping his noddles down like an animal. Kanna and Hasook tap their ears which activates a device that allows them to hear the conversations taking place. Kanna focuses on Bolin and Korra while Hasook focuses on the Wolfbats.

"So, how do you like it?" Bolin questions.

"Hmm, it's delicious and totally authentic! I didn't realize how much I missed Water Tribe grub." Korra replies with a mouthful of noddles in her mouth. Hasook snorts and rests his elbows on the table, holding his chin in his hands.

"She doesn't have manners." He observes. Kanna nods with a sheepish smile on her face.

"Katara and I tried our best teaching her manners, but it's like she's programmed to not have them." She says.

"That's great, 'cause this is my favorite joint. See? You love Water Tribe food, I love Water Tribe food, just another reason we are so great together." Bolin happily states.

"They are good noodles! Hey, who's that creepy guy over there who keeps glaring at us?" Korra points to Tahno who's sitting at a table with a girl on each arm. Kanna leans closer to Hasook.

"What is Tahno saying?" Kanna inquires.

"About how he's going to kick the Avatar's ass in a match." Hasook answers.

"That's Tahno and the Wolfbats, the reigning champs, three years running. Don't make eye contact." Bolin replies to Korra. Korra, being the disrespectful little shit she is, disobeys Bolin and looks straight at Tahno. Tahno walks up towards Korra and Bolin, along with his company. Kanna tenses and gets mentally prepared to blow her cover to protect Korra from Tahno.

"Uh-oh, here he comes. Now don't mess with this guy, he's a nasty dude." Bolin begins to eat his noodles at a fast pace so he doesn't have to speak or look at Tahno.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the Fire Ferrets. Pro-bending's saddest excuse for a team. Tell me, how did a couple of amateurs like you luck your way into the tournament? Especially you, Avatar. You know, if you'd like to learn how a real pro bends, I could give you some private lessons." Tahno taunts. Kanna groans and buries her face in her arms. Hasook looks at the girl in concern.

"What's wrong?" Hasook asks.

"Korra is going to do something extremely stupid." Kanna mumbles.

"How do you know that?" Hasook inquires.

"Because Tahno just taunted her." Kanna replies. Hasook watches as Korra stands up and gets close to Tahno with a glare on her face.

"You wanna go toe-to-toe with me, pretty boy?" Korra snarls.

"Go for it. I'll give you the first shot." Tahno smirks.

"Korra, don't. He's just trying to bait you. If you hit him, we're out of the tournament." Bolin whispers urgently at the angered Korra. Korra whistles and Naga busts through the window, roaring loudly at Tahno. He falls over, but his friends behind him catch him and they quickly walk away. Kanna groans even more as Hasook bursts out laughing.

"I see what you mean." Hasook says in between his laughs. Kanna rolls her eyes and kicks his shin from under the table. Korra and Bolin laugh.

"Whoa, ho, ho, I've never seen someone harass Tahno like that. You are one of a kind, Korra." Bolin compliments Korra. Kanna frowns, not liking how her heart skipped a beat when he said that. Hasook notices the look on her face and sips his drink quietly.

Korra and Bolin are drinking cocktails with straws. Bolin burps, making Korra burps even louder. Bolin takes this as a challenge and burps again, louder this time. Korra burps again yet even louder. They both start laughing. The couple next to them looks on in horrified disgust as do Hasook and Kanna.

"You really should've worked on manners more with her." Hasook comments.

"I'll like to see you try teaching her manners." Kanna mumbles darkly while petting Lee's head. Bolin and Korra get up to leave, causing Hasook and Kanna to do the same. The two Equalists follow the couple to the Harmony Tower where groups of couples watch the city at night. Kanna smiles when she sees how happy Korra is.

"You really care for her." Hasook whispers.

"I do." Kanna whispers back. The two head back to the arena as Bolin and Korra leave.

Mako is sitting in front of the arena. Korra walks up to him and he stands up.

"What kind of game are you playing?" Mako asks, anger dripping from his words.

"Uh...Pro-bending? We've got the quarterfinal match." Korra replies in confusion.

"No, I mean with Bolin. You've got him all in a tizzy and I know you're only using him to get back at me." Mako growls.

"I am not, we're just having fun together. Why do you care, anyway?" Korra asks.

"I'm looking out for my little brother. I don't want to see his heart get broken." Mako answers.

"Wait a second...you're not worried about him, you're jealous! You do have feelings for me!" Korra exclaims.

"What? Jealous? Don't be ridiculous." Mako hisses.

"Admit it! You like me." Korra crosses her arms with a smug look on her face.

"No, I'm with Asami." Mako says.

"Yeah, but when you're with her you're thinking about me, aren't you?" Korra smirks.

"Get over yourself!" Mako shouts angrily.

"I'm just being honest." Korra comments while pointing to herself.

"You're crazy!" Mako yells.

"You're a liar!" Korra yells back. They both glare at each other, before storming away. The two storm into the arena using different doors.

"Eight teams have been eliminated and eight advance into the quarter finals, which get underway tonight. The rookies are about to take on the former and longest-reigning champs, the Boar-q-pines. Youth clashes against experience in a battle for the ages, or rather of the ages. Korra dodges and, ooh, slams right into her teammate! Down goes Mako and Bolin and Korra!" Shiro Shinobi says.

"Round one goes to the Boar-q-pines!" The ring announcer yells. Kanna and Hasook are by the back doors, watching the match.

"Come on, guys." Kanna mumbles. "Get your head in the game."

"The Ferrets looking to mount some offense here in round two. Bolin lets fly a flurry of attacks, he's a one-man bending battalion. The Ferrets are having a rough time finding their rhythm tonight, but thanks to Bolin, they narrowly notch round two. Not sure what's eating them, but this is not the same team who took out the Rabaroos." Shiro says.

"Round three is a tie! We go to a tie-breaker to decide the match." The ring announcer states.

"The Fire Ferrets win the coin toss! Which element do you choose?" The referee asks. Bolin and Mako talk for a moment before Bolin steps forwards. A platform in the middle of the stage raises with Bolin and Chang, the Boar-q-pine earthbender, on it.

"Looks like the earthbenders will collide in the tie-breaker face-off. Bolin goes in for the grapple, Chang reverses. Bolin strikes from midair, knocking Chang to the edge of the circle. Another strike from Bolin, and Chang is in the drink!" Shiro yells.

"The Future Industries Fire Ferrets win their quarterfinal match!" Bolin cheers. Korra and Mako sigh in relief that Bolin won the tie-breaker, but look away from each other angrily.

"Oh, that was a close one folks! Youth trumps experience tonight." Shiro comments. Kanna and Hasook go to leave when Kamna sees Bolin bolting away from the arena in tears. She glances at Hasook.

"Go. I'll cover for you." Hasook gestures for her to follow Bolin. Kanna does so without a second thought with Lee still wrapped around her neck.

"Bolin." Bolin sniffles, glancing up to see Kanna staring down at him in sadness. "May I take a seat?" Bolin nods and she sits down. "What's wrong?" She asks.

"Mako and Korra kissed." Bolin hisses. "I took her out on a date. Mako knows how much I like her. And the two go behind my back to kiss. How can my own brother do that to me?" He cries. She pulls Bolin into a hug, letting him soak her t-shirt with his tears. She strokes his hair and hums a lullaby, something her mother use to sing to her to calm her down, in his ear.

"Come on. Taking you home, bro." Bolin and Kanna turn their gazes onto Mako who stands beside the table. Mako nods his head in greeting towards Kanna. Bolin sniffles.

"Don't call me that. You're not my brother! You're a brother betrayer! The only ones I can trust anymore are Pabu and Kanna! Pabu and Kanna love me." Bolin gestures to Pabu as he rests his head on Kanna's shoulder.

"You're a mess, and we've got the biggest match of our lives tonight. Let's go." Mako places a hand on Bolin's shoulder. Bolin reacts by slapping his hand and scooting closer to Kanna.

"No! I'm not going anywhere with you, you traitor!" Bolin shouts.

"Guess we'll have to do this the hard way." Mako picks Bolin up and hauls him onto his back.

"Why?" Bolin sobs.

"Told you dating a teammate was a bad idea. Thanks, Kanna. We hope to see you tonight at the match." Mako walks out of the shop with Pabu following the brothers.

"You're a bad idea! Put me down! Put me down!" Kanna hears Bolin shouting. She gazes at the table in sadness, knowing that the brothers won't trust her anymore after the final match. She wipes away a tear that fell from her left eye.

"You can't find two teams more evenly matched in age, size, and strength than the Fire Ferrets and the Buzzard Wasps. Believe me, I've looked! This should be a pulse-pounding semifinal, folks! The Buzzard Wasps open with a flawlessly executed combo. All three Ferrets take an early visit to zone two. And Mako is knocked all the way back into zone three! The Fire Ferrets have been struggling to stay alive since the opening bell. All three players are totally out of sync tonight." Bolin gets struck in the stomach with an earth disk. "Ooh, that has got to sting!" Bolin stumbles to the side of the ring, removes his helmet, throws it aside, and vomits. "And Bolin loses his noodles! Literally. Which reminds me, this match is brought to you by our sponsor, Flameo Instant Noodles! Noodliest noodles in the United Republic." The match continues and Korra is knocked into zone three. "The Buzzard Wasps fly deeper into Ferret territory. And Mako plunges into the pool! Can the Fire Ferrets hold on? The Wasps have the Ferrets backed up to the edge now ... and the Ferrets are bailed out by the bell! They had better pull themselves together for round two, otherwise they can kiss the finals goodbye." Shiro observes. Bell dings, second round begins. Mako gets knocked back a zone, and firebends a blast that hits Bolin in the back and knocks him to the ground. Bolin is knocked off the edge by a blast of water when he turned to face Mako.

"The Wasps take advantage of Mako's unforced error and Bolin is in the pool! Ooh, and a blatant hold by the Avatar!" Shiro comments when Korra got too fancy with her waterbending.

"Unnecessary roughness! Move back one zone!" The referee calls. Korra decides to blast water at the referee as she heads back. He holds up a yellow flag.

"And the Avatar is slapped with the yellow fan. The Ferrets are their own worst enemy right now. It's just sad to watch. With the Buzzard Wasps leading two rounds to zilch, the Ferrets' only hope of winning is with a knockout." Shiro states.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!" Kanna screams from the stands, standing on her seat while waving her arms about. "YOU ARE GOING TO LET AN ARGUMENT DESTROY YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING?! GROW UP!" Korra looks at Kanna with wide eyes, not sure why she would be here or why she would even know that information. Mako and Bolin nod their heads. The bell rings and round three begins.

"Bolin's knocked into zone two, followed quickly by his brother!" An earth coin strikes Bolin in the shoulder and he cries out. "And Bolin takes a zinger to the shoulder! Looks like it's a clean hit." Shiro comments. Mako gets hit by a fire blast and is knocked off the edge. "Mako's in the drink and out of the match. And Bolin keeps playing with one good arm! I gotta hand it to him, this kid's got grit! But how long can he keep it up?" Bolin gets knocked off the edge with an earth and water combo. "Apparently, not very long. The Ferrets' dream of making it to the finals now rests in the Avatar's hands. But with three on one, I don't like her odds." Shiro says as Korra dodges the attacks in an attempt to stay in the ring. "What an unbelievable effort here by Korra! She's dodging every element the Wasps throw at her!" Korra knocks each of the Wasps into a line. "The Avatar finally gains some ground, but with only ten seconds remaining, it might be too little too late!" Korra angles herself so that the Buzzard Wasps are lined up in front of her, and knocks them out with a single blast of water. "It's the big kibosh! What a knockout!" Shiro yells. "It didn't seem possible, folks, but the Fire Ferrets are headed to the finals!" The Fire Ferrets cheer and hug each other in excitement. Mako gazes up to see Kanna leaving the arena and a frown comes to his face.

"She isn't going to congratulate us?" Mako asks in disappointment.

"Tenzin probably doesn't know that she's here. She's sneaking back before he does." Korra quickly lies as she remembers the words written in Kanna's handwriting on the chip bag by a tree on the island.

'The final match is when it's going to go down.'

Kanna warned Korra about the impending doom. That showed Korra that Kanna still cares about her.

The Wolfbats entering the locker room. Tahno enters last and inhales deeply with an expression of disgust.

"Ooh, oof. You boys smell something in here? Wait, I know what that is; yeah, that's the scent of losers." Tahno taunts. The Fire Ferrets look at them with hate and disdain.

"I hope we see you in the finals. Then we'll know who the losers really are." Korra comments.

"Yeah, I'm peeing my pants over here." Tahno sarcastically says. Korra growls at the White Fall Wolfbats when they leave as Asami runs to Mako and throws her arms around his neck.

"Great job! What a comeback, Korra. I've never seen a hat trick like that." Asami compliments Korra as she embraces Mako.

"Thanks! But, if it hadn't been for you and your father, we wouldn't have had the chance to play. So thank you." Korra says.

"Uh, if everyone's done with the little "thank you" party, need some medical attention over here." Bolin says.

"Ooh, let me help!" She places both hands on his shoulder.

"Owww! Gah! Haven't you hurt me enough, woman?" Bolin jokingly yells.

"Relax, I'm a healer!" She bends some water out of a bucket and puts it over Bolin's shoulder and begins to heal." I learned from Katara and Kanna, the best there is."

"No, no, oh- ooh! That's the stuff!" Bolin moans in relief.

"Your winners, the Wolfbats!" Everyone in the looker room hears.

"What? How is it over already?" Korra questions in complete shock.

"With a brutal round one knockout, the defending champs secure their spot in the finals. I hope the Ferrets know a good doctor, 'cause they're gonna need one!" The three Fire Ferrets gain astonished looks when they hear Shiro announce this.

"A third of the police force are frozen in ice and are hidden in isolated places." Kanna informs Amon as she sits across the table from him with a couple other Equalists siting with them.

"You won't have to deal with the entire police force now when we begin the invasion." A male says. Amon taps his fingers against the table while silence takes the room. Nobody dares utter a word in fear of their leader.

"Gather the strongest troops, there's a group of policemen by the ocean that we need to take care of." Amon suddenly says and walks out of the room. Kanna leans back in her chair, emitting a sigh. Hasook claps her shoulders from behind.

"Come on, partner in crime. We gotta go unless you want Amon to kill us." He jokes. She gets up and the two leave together. They meet up with other Equalists on a roof of a building, overlooking the ocean. They watch the police force underneath them. The police seem so calm as they joke around and laugh about life. They had no idea about what was going to happen to them.

"Begin." Amon commands. Kanna throws her hands up causing a huge tidal wave to come down upon the people. She bites her lips and closes her eyes, trying to ignore the screams of fear and helplessness. She sighs and opens her eyes as she pulls the wave back into the ocean. That's when the rest of the Equalists jump down to knock the police unconscious. Kanna turns around to come face to face with someone she's never seen before. The male gets into a fire bending stance giving her an idea of how he'll fight.

He shots five fire blasts at her. She dodges the attacks while bending the water in the ocean. She charges at him and brings the water crashing down on him. He deflects the attack with another set of fire blasts. She quickly spins the water around her and crashes it onto the roof, causing a wave. He stomps his foot on the ground and flings his hands out, making a large wall of fire which evaporates the wave. Steam begins to cover the roof top, making it harder for Kanna to see her opponent. She clenches her fists with water swirling around them as she waits for him to show himself. Not even a second later, he jumps out of the steam and attacks her with two...blue fire balls. Kanna's eyes widen in horror at the color of the fire before extinguishing it by forming a water shield in front of her. He waves his arm into an arc and throw a jet of fire at her. She quickly extinguishes the fire once again. She watches as he does a backflip, landing in a puddle of water.

They rush towards each other at an incredible speed. Kanna bends the water in the puddle and forms ice icicles, thrusting them at him. He side steps and the attack misses hiking centimeters. She grits her teen together in frustration. She bends the water in the puddle again and throws the mass at him which successfully knocks him off his feet. As he stumbles back to his feet, she bends the water to surround her body. She forms two water tentacles where her arms are and lifts them high in the air. He dashes towards her and goes to throw a fire punch at her when his fire is extinguished by her wrapping a tentacle around his arm. She swings the other water tentacle at him. He tries to deflect her attack by blasting blue fire balls at her, but they are extinguished as well as the tentacle wraps around his leg. Kanna smirks while lifting him into the air. She pauses, seeing the look of terror on the man's face.

"Kanna, kill him." Amon commands when he finally makes his way to stand beside her. The man she was fighting closes his eyes and his body slumps in defeat. Kanna shakes her head no with tears threatening to spill.

"Waterbenders never kill." Kanna whispers the one thing that has been drilled in her head since she was a child. She focuses on the water tentacles and extends them, placing the man down on the ground below and releases him. She turns to see Amon with his hand outstretched towards her.

"No, they don't. But you're not only a waterbender, are you?" He says. Suddenly, intense pain fills Kanna's body as her limbs snap into awkward position while he raises her into the air. "Come on, Kanna. Show me who you really are." A dark tone takes to his voice. She growls and before she knows it, Amon is screaming in pain as she accidentally blood bends him.
