The Warning
Once again I had awoken, it had been so strange though, I mean first I was in my uncomfortable bed, then that awful ghost had appeared, and the ghoulish mist had arose mysteriously, then everything blacked out, and now I am awake, lying on the hard wood floor of my bedroom, my body still aching from the slashing of the sword and... and my arm from the harsh grip that the stupid wraith had given me, my arm was terrifying to look at considering that the veins close to where the wraith's hand had touched was now an awful color of black. I am so sick of all of this, what is going on? I need to find out who is doing this.. or if ghosts are actually real. Either way I need to find out... wait a minute, why is it so quiet, I mean it had been very quiet before but now for some reason this type of quiet was eerie. I'd wondered.
Anyway, I decided to get up and walk to check on my parents to make sure they were alright, because what I have been through in less than three hours, as far as I am concerned everything is not alright . So I headed for the spiraling staircase.
As soon as I'd reached the bottom of the companionway it had appeared to be even more quiet than it was when I was lying upstairs feeling paralyzed, this is weird, I had thought.
"Mom? Dad?," I had called out. No answer. "Hello?" still no answer.
Now I had been walking around the hotel for more than ten minutes calling out for my beloved parents. I began to feel worried. Something is not right. Finally I make my way to the dusted kitchen, there I had seen uneven doors looking like they were about to plunge into the floor any moment. I had also seen the island, which needed to be remodeled big time, with all the cracks and scrapes covering the top of the surface to the bottom. Then I had decided to walk steadily around the island and then, as I had turned on one of the corners of the table I had seen my dad lying there motionless. His eyes had been wide open but there was no life in them. I knew he was gone because looking down I had identified a sharp, pointed, butcher knife right in the middle of his chest. There had been a puddle of crimson colored blood everywhere.Panic filled me. No, this can't be happening! My father, dead. My eyes began to water, with tears streaming down my aqua- blue eyes. I couldn't help but scream viciously with pain and sorrow.
After minutes of screaming and crying I had noticed something, where was my mom? I've been screaming ear-piercingly that surely if she didn't all ready know that my father was murdered she would be here minutes ago. But no, she wasn't, it had all been silent. I needed to find her. Please don't be dead. I'd hoped. "Mom?" I yelled. "MOM?" once again there was no answer. My heart began to race and my head becoming extremely light and dizzy. No don' t pass out again, investigate! I had told myself
I needed to explore and analyze the building. I sprinted from room to room, no luck, not even a trace of evidence of where my mom was. I decided to walk back to the kitchen, I'm not really sure why I did because I knew that my dead father would be lying there swimming in his own blood. I guess my instincts took over, I mean I haven't looked for any evidence there yet. So then I stepped into the dreaded kitchen once more. Looking everywhere in every run- down cabinet but still finding no trace of my mom or her some of her belongings.
Minutes had passed and I had basically scouted the entire kitchen. So then I had ambulated back to where the body that had once belonged to my dad had been. I was just standing there staring into his lifeless eyes. Now I had begun to maneuver my eyes just staring throughout my dad's body. Then I had seen an object in my father's blood. Curious, I bent down and picked up what seemed to be some sort of commodity from the still warm blood. Most of the red liquid had departed from the substance after I had pulled it out of the crimson puddle, and now I had known what that object had been. It was my mom's mother necklace, we both had one except the one I was wearing was a necklace that had said daughter on it. We never really took the necklaces off, my mom and I. The only time that we had taken the pieces of jewelry off was when we would do something intense to where the necklaces would break, such as sports or working out for example. The necklaces were like our treasure. Though I am pretty sure my mother hadn't taken the silver jewelry off.
As more and more blood dripped off the necklace I could see that the object had broken. I think somebody ripped it off her accidentally, not knowing she had the necklace clipped on to her slim neck.
An unbearable thought had occurred to me, was my mom kidnapped? My head began to pound and panic once again filled me. And all of a sudden it hit me, all of those creepy moments with me witnessing the wraith, and the sword that had sliced beneath my ribs, and the phantom appearing while I was in bed and saying all of these freaky spells or whatever, was all that, in a way, a warning, of something horrible that is about to come?
