As darkness wraps its claws around me,

Surprisingly they are warm.

They seem to draw me in, invitingly;

Promising me comfort in the dark.

it lies, but what a pretty lie it is.

The demons sing songs of woe,

As the monsters beckon.

To give into this peaceful lie would be so easy.

And yet why didn't I?
