When someone cries, why
Do we feel the need to avert our eyes?
Pretend that they're okay,
We don't know what to say.
Ignore the tears,
It's our biggest fear.
The crack in their voice,
To us it's blind noise.
Red eyes hold so many lies.
If we just reached out,
Maybe it would help.
But instead we walk away,
Leave them to cry and stay.
