Epilogue.

Ezra sat aboard the Ghost, thinking about the previous battle.

The Inquisitor was dead, Ezra had seen to that himself, but so was Neeran.

However, the more Ezra pondered about it, the more he thought that he was missing something. Something important.

But he couldn't put the final pieces together.

Groaning, Ezra flopped back on his bed above Zeb's with one leg resting over the side of the bed, the four blankets that Neeran had given him resting on his stomach and the photograph in his right hand as he stared at the figures standing there, all smiling and happy from a time long gone.

"Ezra?" asked a voice from the door.

Ezra shot up instantly but he saw that it was only Kanan.

"Hey," said Ezra, moving the blankets to beside him and placing the photo in his lap. "Do you need something?"

"I'd like to reopen the offer for you to join our crew again," said Kanan. "As well as train you in the ways of the Force, just as Neeran was."

Hope lit up in Ezra's being at the thought of honoring Neeran's memory by learning the ways of the Jedi and passing it onto future generations and keeping his promise to her from the Battle of Jaroon.

"I accept Kanan."

"Welcome aboard the Ghost, Spectre 6."

...

"Do you reckon you should have told him that you can't die unless you have something go through your heart?" asked Zach.

Neeran groaned slightly as she sat up from her 'dead' like trance.

"I didn't need to," replied Neeran. "He didn't ask, so I didn't tell."

"And you got disemboweled for it?"

"Not purposefully," said Neeran rubbing her head. "He just needed something to tip him over the edge. That seemed to have done the trick. Hurt like hell though."

"What about all those kids you traumatised during the battle?"

"They'll be here shortly; they'll all be fine," replied Neeran pulling her knees to her chest and looking over at Zach.

"Fine," replied Zach, rolling his eyes. "That's just what you said last time, and you know what happened that time."

"Yeah, I remember," replied Neeran hanging her head. "I wasn't about to let it happen again."

After a moment of silence between Zach and Neeran, Zach sighed and said, "That's a relief."

At that moment, several small child-like figures followed by a few clone troopers entered the clearing where Neeran and Zach were.

"Neeran!" shouted the couple of children running over to her and tackling her in a hug.

"Hey! Guys! Stop that! It hurts still dattebayo!"

If you are curious as to how Neeran survived, then I suggest you go and read my other Star Wars books: 'Gaining Trust' and 'Hidden Pasts'. They go into detail about Neeran and Zach's pasts for the first eighteen chapters of 'Hidden Pasts' and 'Gaining Trust' sets up that book. I also have a third book in that series which I'm currently revising the title for.

If you do go and read my other Star Wars trilogy, thank you very much.

If not, I hope that you enjoyed this book and I may see you in a later one.
