Ock

Hello my minions... uhh I mean readers... thank you for being patient with me and sticking with the story! Please check out my new story, Life as Peter Parker. I would love it if you guys gave me requests for what you want to read! I am more than happy to write them as long as I can accurately write the characters!

Warning: the next chapter might get a little heavy, but I'm trying to keep it, I don't know how to say it... I guess... not too depressing? Ok then. Enjoy.

Tony was sitting contently going over the specs for the new suit he was was making. Tony had decided to ignore Spider-Man and Bruce. He had a feeling that staring at Spidey might make him a little uncomfortable.

Tony was pulled from his thoughts at the sound of his teams new mission on the news. He glanced up at the tv and instead of ignoring it, he decided to watch it. The new suit's designs were flawless and he was getting bored of continuously going over them.

He heard a sharp intake of breath that was followed by a choked sobbing sound. He looked over at the source of the sound to find Spidey starting to hyperventilate. He started shaking slightly and muttering as the news woman continued talking. He looked to Bruce who was right next to the man. Bruce was sitting there awkwardly with the platter of sandwiches in his hands trying to put them down somewhere while simultaneously trying to calm the distraught man. They needed to get him traught now. Tony sat there. Where had he heard that before? Get traught or get... Tony shook his head. He needed to focus.

Tony dropped his Starkpad and rushed over to him. "Hey! Spidey! Calm down. Your ok! It's alright!" Stark said calmly as he tried to calm the panicking man. Getting no response besides the man dropping his sandwich, Tony tried to shake him a bit in an attempt to snap him out of it. He removed his hands when Spidey recoiled from his touch.

"No... no! Please not again... not again!" Spidey choked out. "What? Please, not again, what?!" Tony asked him gently. Spidey didn't respond. He just buried his head into his hands."Spidey. Please. Tell us what's wrong. We can help." He said in a reassuring voice, as he put a hand on his shoulder. This time, instead of recoiling, the wall crawler leaned into his touch. He put his forehead on Tony's left shoulder still shaking and struggling to control his breathing.

Everyone in the room sat still, silently watching the interaction between the two, not daring to speak. Tony rubbed the mans back as a means to soothe him. After the man had stopped shaking and his breathing was almost back to normal, did Tony speak. "Can you tell me what's wrong? If you do, I could help you." Tony told him. The mad took a deep breath before he looked up.

"You can't help me. This is something I need to do alone." He stated darkly. "Would you let me go now?" He asked quietly. Tony turned to look at the rest of the team for help. All he got were a few clueless shrugs. Luckily, Bruce spoke up. "We'll let you go tomorrow. This is obviously important, but you are in no shape to go today." He said loud enough for everyone else to hear. A few reluctant fines were heard from the others. Spider-Man nodded slightly and looked at Bruce. "Can we go um..." he trailed off. Bruce, understanding what the man wanted, grabbed Miss Supporting Character for him. Tony moved as the man stood up. Him and Bruce then proceeded to leave.

After a few short minutes, the pair arrived back at the gym. Peter practiced walking for the rest of the night until Bruce made him stop to get dinner.

(Wow! Look what I found! An undercover time skip!)

Peter and Bruce both sat at the end of the groups big table alone as they waited for some food. Bruce and Peter sat in silence as the others chatted.

They all ate in silence for a few minutes. "So, Spider-Man, would you mind telling us why you need to leave tomorrow?" Tony asked casually. Peter just looked at him for a moment before sighing. He knew they wouldn't let him leave if he didn't give them a reason why he should.

"Because someone I love is in danger." He said his tone of voice making it obvious that he didn't want to discuss it anymore. No one said anything for the rest of dinner. As soon as he was done eating, peter went to bed. He would need his strength for tomorrow.

~~And to our right is a rare, one night long time skip!~~

Peter woke with a feeling of dread. The type of feeling that made even the most beautiful mornings unpleasant. Peter got up and grabbed Deb-doo. He found that he didn't really need her anymore when he walked over to get her, but he liked to use her. More for emotional support than anything. His healing factor must've working really hard to fix his back and legs.

After quickly using the bathroom, Peter walked into the the hallway. He followed J.A.R.V.I.S.'s instructions on how to get to Bruce's lab. The two had this unspoken agreement that they would start out every day in Bruce's lab. Neither of them would go to get breakfast or anything until they both got to his lab.

The two left to eat breakfast after Bruce told him about the day. He told him, "You can leave after lunch. I want to have one more physical therapy session with you after breakfast."

Breakfast that day was surprisingly quiet. Only one thing was said that morning. And it was, "I know that you hate us, but I hope that you will come back son." Of course Steve would say that. Why would he want to come back here? They were keeping him held captive. They weren't friends. The only person he might've actually missed was Bruce. He might miss Clint's childish behavior and Tony's comfort when he needed it, but why would he come back?

~~wow! A rare three hour time skip!~~

Peter's physical therapy session went well. He could almost walk normally now. Sure he was a little shaky, but he didn't need Miss Supporting Character anymore. He would miss her and the Shoobydooby Steamroller... they had some good times together.

They ate lunch after their 2 and a half hour long session. They had a big lunch. It was already made when they got there. The other Avengers were all waiting for them before they started to eat. It was kind of weird.

Peter asked Bruce to put the TV on so that he could listen to the news while he ate. He was about to finish his lunch when he heard something very bad.

"Doctor Otto Octavius has been spotted in the heart of Forest Hills Gardens. We are hitting reports that he has taken someone hostage from a house on Ingram Street. We are being told that.." peter ignored the rest and stood up abruptly. His sudden movement caused some of the Avengers to jump and caused Tony to drop a large bowl of fruit.

He ignored their calls and headed directly to the floors balcony. He threw open the doors before anyone could lock them and jumped over  the railing and swing away on a web.

Peter swung as fast as he possibly could and then some. Ice cold fear was running threw his veins, slowly engulfing his lanky for. Peter needed to go faster! He needed to save Aunt May! A little voice in the back of his mind was telling him that he was already to late. That voice just egged him on.

He arrived at his beloved home in ten minutes flat. Peter's muscles were tired and he was out of breath but he didn't care. He jumped onto the side of his house and crawled in one of the windows. He ignored all of the police outside that were calling to him. Peter searched the top floor of the house, the one the window led to, but found nothing.

He started to panic as that same feeling of dread from that morning settled in the bottom of his stomach. "Hello? Anyone here? May!?" He called out. He bolted down the stairs but his search of that floor yielded the same results. He fought the urge to sob as he realized his aunt was gone.

Peter's head snapped up and he looked to his left to see two officers enter his house through the giant, gaping hole in the wall where the door used to be. How had he not noticed that before!? He relaxed slightly when he realized who the officers were. Officers Maria and Mike. They both had sad looks on their faces, confirming what Peter knew. May was gone.

With our favorite officers
———
As soon as Officer Maria and her partner heard about the break in at the Parker residence, they were in their squad car on route to 20 Ingram Street, Forest Hills Gardens.

They were some of the first officers to arrive on the scene. The sight of Peter's home made her gasp. There was a giant, gaping hole where the door used to be and the outside of the house was torn to shreds.

More officers and news vans arrived a few minutes after they did. About ten minutes after the news vans showed up, Peter showed up. As Spider-Man. Maria and Mike looked at each other worriedly when he entered his destroyed home and ignored the other officers calls.

"We're going in." Mike stated as both he and Maria started walking towards the house. No one objected.

Spidey tensed and snapped his head in their direction when he heard them enter. They saw him relax slightly when he saw them. "Peter...." was all Maria said. She didn't know what else to say.

They silently followed Peter as he walked over to the oddly fine couch and sat down. "I'd offer you a drink, but ah... Ya'know..." Peter said a little distraught. They sat there in silence for a few minutes. Eventually peter broke. He put his head in his hands and mumbled, "she's gone. I should have been here. It's my fault." The two sat down on either side of him as he choked back another sob.

Mike put a comforting hand on his back as Maria pulled his hands away from his head after they made sure no one could see them. "Peter," Maria said once he was looking at her, "this is not your fault. If anyone is to blame it is the villain who took her or those blasted Avengers for taking you in the first place. It was not your fault." She said sternly. "Now go get your Aunt back peter!" She commanded. To their surprise, Peter turned and gave Maria a hug before turning to do the same to Mike. "You're right. Thank you guys." He said solemnly. The two just nodded at him.

They shifted their positions to allow peter stand up. They noticed that his legs were shaking a little but they didn't say anything. Mike stopped him before he could leave. "Oh! Peter! Ock was spotted heading towards that old clock tower that broke!" He exclaimed.

Neither of them noticed his muscles tense, but they did notice his sharp intake of breath upon hearing the news, before he nodded to them and walked out of he walked out of the house. A few minutes after he left, Maria spoke up. "I hope he'll be ok mike." She said worriedly. "Me too Marie, me too." And with that, they both left the house.

Peter didn't think anything as he swung towards that dreaded clock tower. What was he supposed to think about? The love of his life falling to her death? No. Not now. Not while his Aunt May needed him.

He didn't need to question if he was heading to the right place. He knew that the clock tower was where Ock was going. Where else would Harry have him take her? Ock probably didn't know what had transpired there 1 year, 8months, 3 weeks, and 4 days ago, but Harry did. He was the one who had caused it after all. Harry wouldn't have had Ock taken her anywhere else. It was here she had died.

Peter made it to the gruesome remains of the clock tower way to soon, or maybe not soon enough. He wasn't really sure how he felt yet. All he knew was that his Aunt was in there, and that she needed help.

Hesitantly, Peter walked into the tower. He barley noticed all of the gears and debris on the ground from the last time he was there. He swallowed the forming lump in his throat as he walked into a "clearing" of debris mere feet from where Gwen had hit the ground.

Gathering all of his courage, Peter yelled one, simple thing, "Harry!" He didn't need to yell anything else. As he expected, Harry flew on his glider down to him. He grinned at peter, but it looked more like a repulsive snarl, the whole time.

Even though he knew Harry couldn't see it, Peter glared at him. Peter knew he knew he was glaring. What else would he be doing? Smile at him?

"Where is she?" He asked in a quiet, threatening tone. "Who? Your dear old Aunt May? Over with my good friend Doctor Otto Octavius." Something he had said must've been a cue or something because right after Harry was done talking, Ock came out of the shadows holding his Aunt. Ock himself was standing on one of the only catwalks left in the broken tower, but his Aunt was being held over the side of it. The catwalk was about halfway up the tower. Peter could probably jump up there and grab her, but that was a huge risk. He didn't know how well that would turn out given the current situation.

"Harry." He started slowly. "Just let her go. She has nothing to do with this!" He ended, his voice rising. Harry let out an unsettling chuckle. "Is that what you think.... Peter?" Harry grinned as May gasped at her nephew's.
"This has everything to do with her!" He yelled. "I thought that taking Gwen away would be enough to take away your hope, but it wasn't! Now all that's left is your precious Aunt May! Taking her away will truly break you!" He howled.

"Listen to yourself Harry! This is Aunt May! She was the one that was there for you when your parents weren't! She was the one who patched you up when you feel off of your bike! Heck! She helped you learn how to ride a bike Harry! How could you even consider doing this to her!?" Peter yelled back, a hint of desperation in his voice. "This isn't you Hare! Just let her go and we can take care of this! I know people who can help cure you! We can get through this Harry! Just let her go!"

For a moment, Harry's malicious grin faltered. A look of regret made its way into his eyes. He looked at May's terrified form and then back to Peter. For a moment, Peter though that he was actually going to let her go. That was, until the Avengers busted through the doors. Then all hell broke loose.

So I was at my brothers ball game when I was writing the first part of this chapter. I got a few paragraphs in when someone made an amazing play or something. I'm guessing it was a good play because the players team exploded. I actually heard someone yell, "YEAH! WHOOO! CHUPACABRA!" I just thought that was funny and I wanted to share it. Ok. Until next time!
