"Why is dad doing this?!"
You asked yourself for doing that a lot of times, but you knew that your name was called. So, you decided to reprimand yourself about it.
"(Y/N), you're none of yourself again. You better calm down! Everyone's gonna see you on stage!" But at that moment, the applause started to grow louder. "Just be calm, (Y/N). You can do it!" Then you rubbed your hands together, breathed heavily and did the chin-up.
(A/N: Play The Lucky One in the multimedia section - note: up to the first chorus only. Don’t finish it. Thanks!)
You walked on the red carpet as if it was a beauty pageant. You were sparkling in beauty and as people kept on cheering for you, you waved to them, but you noticed your father standing by the side holding a signboard on his hands which is written in all capitalized letters bold enough for me to see: CHIN UP. DON'T WAVE, BUT SMILE AND JUST BOW CASUALLY.
"Um, sorry!" you apologized to yourself as you saw it and changed your ways as said on that paper. You just walked on the aisle, bowed casually to the people on the sides and kept on walking. All of a sudden, your foot tilted on the left because of the height of your stilletos, but you knew that the program must go on, so you stood yourself up and kept walking on the aisle and walked to the podium. You reached for the microphone.
You stood frozen in front of them. You couldn't say a word. Remember, you weren't prepared for a speech. Your dad was just there smiling which he means to say, You can do it!
But, Dad I can't! That's the words you can say to your dad, but you cannot just speak those to the microphone. So you whispered to your dad even if he's far from you, "Dad? I can't do it! I'm unprepared!"
"It's alright!" he assured. "Just say some words of appreciation, and about the good things about them!"
It seems easy!
You finally started to think of words to speak because it's easy! So, you pulled on the microphone and gave up two consecutive formal coughs in front of them.
"Um, hel---uh, good evening everyone!" you stuttered.
I'm pretty the worst!
"Sorry. I'm pretty glad to see you this evening. Thi... this is a very wonderful event happening and I'd like to thank everyone for coming. I would want to say... th-thank you for supporting my father. I knew that this will be his first time but... deep down, he will like his job as an inspiring leader to everyone, a supportive friend to all, and of course, to me... his family... as a loving and caring..."
I hate it every time I stutter!
"...dad.
"Th-that's all. Thank you and... good evening!" Everyone gave you an applause despite the impromptu speech that you made. You knew that it was just like of a grader's speech, but everyone knew that it was an almost professional speech. You walked out of the podium and sat beside your father.
He smiled at you. "That... that was good!"
"Yeah," you answered sarcastically, "thanks. Although it's just an impromptu." Then you pouted.
Your father comforted you and said, "Even though. I still like it." You responded by giving him a sly smile and looked on towards the program. A lot more things were happening there and... you see.
After that tiring long program, the host led you and your father to the most special table ever. Your dad sat on the center of the table just to show that he has the authority. Daddy sat straight but you just slouched quite a bit. But then, having the fear that your dad might catch you "slouching", you just sat up straight and breathed deeply. After that, you felt comfortable on your seat.
Later, you excused yourself from the group you're in, and walked away slowly. You led yourself away to go to the restroom and fixed yourself once more, because you have a fear that your make-up might get smudged again, but as you looked at the mirror, your make-up is like awhile ago. You smiled at yourself in the mirror and got out of the restroom until later, a group of reporters were blocking your way but you were heading for the dining table where your dad was seated at. The good thing was, you got ahead of them but when you're about to take your seat, you realized that the reporters started to fire sets of questions.
"Ms. (L/N), how does it really feel when you're the president's daughter?"
"What comes to your mind as you heard that your father's the president?"
"Do you think you're going to succeed your dad's position?"
Cameras keep on clicking and flashing and you noticed that a lot of microphones are surrounding you, so you took a deep breath and spoke up, "I know it feels good to be the president's daughter because for sure my father would've started inspiring people right now."
And you kept on speaking. "The first thing that comes to my mind is help because my dad would like to help people.
"And if you'll ask me if I'll succeed my Dad's position... umm..." you stuttered, "I'm not yet ready to take it up yet because there are some things that needs improvent in me... and, I would not want to promote political dynasty but democracy."
"Surely," the reporter replied, and you nodded. "Thanks for your time, "Ms. (L/N)." Then they walked out of your way and you were able to sit with the group.
Your father sat down walked steps near you and whispered, "Who approached you awhile ago?"
"A group of reporters."
"Okay," he answered. "Good job!"
"I know you, dad," you replied, smiling, "you always like complimenting." Your dad smirked and kept on eating formally. Suddenly, you realized that you aren't eating yet, so, you scooped some of your food and ate formally, just like the way your dad did it. He looked at you once more and smiled at you, but his smile suddenly faded. You wondered what was all going on in his head.
He told you, "Remember, darling, we are from New York?"
"Oh, um," you started, "yes, Dad. Why?"
He frowned. "Sorry, Darling, but we are moving here in San Fransokyo."
"But, Dad---"
"Let's talk about this privately. Let's go out so that no one can just listen." You sighed and slammed your hand on the table and walked outside with your dad and stayed there for your private talk.
"Okay, so Dad..." you started, "why are we moving to San Fransokyo?"
Your dad will really explain everything. "Darling, they need us there. And… there in New York, I have been filed a case there."
You started to react badly. "Dad, did you just… do a crime?"
"I didn't," your dad answered with a strong disapproval. "People were actually blaming me but it involves someone there."
"So why are we leaving?!"
"To forget the past! We have to move on."
"But now, dad," you tried to point something out, "your face is flashed everywhere. Not just in San Fransokyo, but everywhere! Everyone knows you!"
"Not just that!" your dad said. "There's one more reason, and I guess you knew it."
"What?"
"I couldn't remember," he answered.
You retorted, "Wow, Dad. I couldn't believe you could make a decision like that!" Then you walked out to go back to the table you were in awhile ago.
Meanwhile, your dad just stood there on that place and talked to himself. "It would be all okay. That's the best decision you could make. You would be able to defend yourself."

You sat on that same seat and thoughts are running in your head.
Darn it! I don't understand. Why did Dad want both of us to move here? Well, I don't know. I just applied in an institute of technology but… I couldn't remember what the name is! Stupid me so much. Urgh!
Suddenly, your dad walked back to the table and heaved a sigh. You wanted to tell it to him.
"Dad, I-I don't understand. Why are really moving?"
"We have no choice. In fact, this will be the best decision I've ever made."
At last, sorrow streamed down your face and you decided to hug your dad and apologize to hin for the responses you made. Guess, he was mad at you awhile ago, too. Such a big misunderstanding between both of you. He hugged you back as a sign of comforting you.
After the dinner, you and your dad went out to go back to his maserati and as you went in, you suddenly fell asleep at the passenger seat. You didn't notice that the wheels starting rolling on. All you could feel is darkness surrounding your eyes.
As you woke up, you realized that you're back in New York, and, at your home. You went out of the car and landed on your bed still with the same clothes. You were really tired.

Midnight passed and you woke up. You realized you didn't change in your pj's. You decided to throw off your dress in the basket and changed in your (S/F/C) pj's. You looked at the mirror and smiled. You noticed that you got a lot of hidden tartars in between, so you brushed your teeth and gurgled. Fresh breath, yes.
Then you landed back to bed.
I think Dad really has a decision to hide in San Fransokyo, and I think, he's right! For me though… I think there are opportunities that I'll be facing as we moved there.
Thoughts? Couldn't you just answer my question?
This chapter is inspired by Taylor Swift’s song ‘The Lucky One’. Well that reminds me of popularity. Anyways... yeah. Next paragraph.
Okay, so how's the pageant? *giggles* Amazing, huh? All for the sake of being the president's daughter. You liked it?
And… what do you think is the main reason why your father decides to move to San Fransokyo? Tell me your answers and comment them! I will dedicate the succeeding chapters to you, readers!
