Five Days Until The Kaeseok Date
With the warmth of day fading away and sun at its final stage of setting, the end of an extraordinary day for the group had arrived. That day consisted of blaring loud music through a set of speakers the brunette owned, Seokjin cooking food on the grill and the group overall enjoying each other’s company and the day all in its own. That day above all of the others had been the greatest so far; everyone seemed to let go of their worries and just enjoyed themselves and each other.
It was as the sun was setting, that Jungkook realized how much the group of seven meant to him. Each and every single person that he spent that day with, were special to him. He realized that he wouldn’t know what he’d be able to do if he just woke up one day and they all disappeared. They found themselves a special place in the younger’s heart, a place that will hold and cherish them until the very end.
“Jungkook-ah, can you help me set the fireworks up?”
The brunette nearly forgot about the fireworks he found his garage earlier in the day. He figured setting off the few he had wasn’t going to be much of a harm, not to mention that it was going to be the greatest end for the greatest day the brunette had ever experienced in his life. Just letting go of all of his problems and struggles while spending quality time with the people he cared the most about was all the brunette could ever ask for in any sort of happiness.
“Sure, hyung!” The brunette exclaimed as he made is way over to the pinkette, who was holding onto a small box of fireworks in his arms.
Upon reaching Seokjin, Jungkook grabbed the box out of the oldest boy’s grasp. The brunette tore open the box, careful not to break the explosives in the process. Once the box was opened, he set the stand that held the fireworks in the grass, placing the fireworks onto the stand to hold them up tightly and securely. Everything seemed to be in check; the fireworks in place and everybody seemed to be at a safe distance for the explosives to be lit and set off into the sky.
Jungkook reached into his back pocket and pulled out the small, black lighter that he found earlier in the day somewhere in the garage. He turned his head in the direction of the group, gaze set on the seven. “You know, my eomma always said fireworks can be a symbol of love and that if you truly love a person, you’ll kiss them under the fireworks,” the brunette directed his attention onto the blonde as he finished speaking his sentence.
Taehyung’s cheeks heated up, tinting them a light rosy color. He brought both of his hands to the sides of his face to cover his red cheeks, the fabric of Jungkook’s grey hoodie covering the blonde’s hands as he did so. The brunette’s lips curved upwards at the sight of the blushing blonde in his sweatshirt - it was one of the cutest things he had ever seen, and to think that the blonde was his boyfriend, made Jungkook’s heart flutter in the slightest.
The brunette turned his attention back to the fireworks stationed in front of him. He flicked the lighter a few times until the small flame appeared. Then, he brought the lit flame to the fireworks, placing the heat under each individual one, trying his best to make sure they were all lit before taking his finger off of the button, the flame disappearing.
Quickly, Jungkook rushed back to the rest of the group, taking his place in the spot next to Taehyung. He wrapped an arm around the blonde’s shoulder, pulling him closer to his body. The blonde snuggled into the brunette’s side, leaning his head on the younger’s shoulder as his gaze was set on the sky, waiting for the fireworks to explode and fly off into the darkness of the night sky before slowly disappearing like they had never even been present.
The first firework went off, the explosive shooting straight up into the air before exploding into little sparks of multiple colors, a shortened loud boom following the firework. Slowly, the sparks dissipated into nothing, the next few fireworks following in suit and doing the same. Colors of reds, greens, purples, blues and golds filled the sky with every little spark from the firework. It was truly mesmerizing sight.
However, Jungkook was more focused on Taehyung and how the fireworks seemed to shine brighter in the elder’s eyes rather than how they shined in the sky. The brunette found himself smiling fondly at the blonde, who was far too lost in the beauty of the colorful sparks to even note of the younger’s staring. In fact, he was oblivious of the entire situation - his sole focus on the booming, colorful sparks that shined brightly in the sky.
Jungkook, while not saying a word, cupped the side of Taehyung’s face and lifted it up so the blonde’s gaze would be on the brunette, himself. The confused blonde rose an eyebrow up at the younger, who was just fondly smiling down back at him. That caused the blonde to smile back at the brunette, his unique shaped smile being shone.
The brunette then leaned himself closer to the blonde, gently placing his lips against the elder’s in a short and sweet kiss. When he pulled away, the blonde’s cheeks were a deepened crimson color, the smile on his face only widening until his cheeks hurt from the wideness of the smile.
“I care about you a lot, Taehyungie. I wouldn’t just kiss anyone underneath fireworks like that,” the brunette mumbled before placing a shortened kiss on the blonde’s nose. “I may not be that skilled with relationships, but for you, I’ll always try,” Jungkook removed his hand from Taehyung’s cheek and used it to grasp his hand instead, gently intertwining their hands together.
While being a flustered mess, the blonde lifted himself up and pressed a chaste kiss on the younger’s cheek. “I care about you a lot too, Jungkookie. I’m glad you didn’t make anyone for me because I get to have you instead,” Taehyung mumbled before nuzzling his head into the younger’s neck, a content sigh escaping past his barely parted lips.
Jungkook leaned his chin atop of the side of Taehyung’s head, nuzzling himself close to the blonde boy. The brunette then glanced out at the rest of the group, noticing how they were doing just as he had done with Taehyung; they took up the younger’s advice about kissing the person you love under fireworks since it was a symbol of love, in his mother’s eyes. Of course, that excluded Hoseok and Kaesi, whom were standing next to each other and watching the fireworks from above.
The redhead would keep glancing to the side in the direction of the ginger, yet Hoseok was too focused on the fireworks to even acknowledge the slight glances given by the youngest of the eight. Kaesi seemed to have let out a short sigh, her body losing its posture, as she seemed to have lost any hope she had. Her gaze lowered to the pool and how the fireworks reflected off of the pool. The ripples from the pool made the fireworks look less beautiful, almost like as if they were shattering in their own little way. That caused the redhead to frown deeply.
Jungkook was staring intently at Kaesi, hoping that she would notice his stares so he could ask her what was wrong, without making such a big deal in front of everyone else. Just as the brunette had hoped, the redhead lifted her gaze in the direction of the brunette, eyes set on him and the blonde boy. Her frown seemed to deepen more if that was even possible.
“What’s wrong?” The brunette mouthed to the redhead, not wanting to speak in case the problem was a lot more personal and if she didn’t want anyone else in the group to know.
Without saying anything, Kaesi glanced at Hoseok, as if telling the answer to her problem. Then she focused her attention back on the brunette, who was starting to feel really guilty for the girl. Something about the redhead’s design and who she was seemed to not be what the ginger wanted from someone in a relationship. During her character development, there was something the brunette seemed to have done wrong since one of the main characters didn’t have any sort of feelings towards the other; that is why Jungkook felt so guilty.
If only he had done something else with Kaesi’s character, then maybe there wouldn’t have been such a struggle in getting the two together. That being said, Jungkook couldn’t think of making the redhead any different than she already was. She was shy yet goofy, enjoyed playing video games and was overall a very sensitive and innocent-seeming girl. That’s where the brunette was confused as to why there was such a problem with getting Hoseok and her together; what was it that made Kaesi only a friend in the ginger’s eyes?
“Kaesi, do it,” the brunette mouthed to the redhead, whose face seemed to turn a rosy shade in the darkness. “Be strong, you got this.”
Kaesi nervously pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose before placing her full attention on Hoseok - who was still too mesmerized by the fireworks to have noticed the redhead’s gaze. A lump seemed to have formed in the girl’s throat, but she quickly swallowed it down, letting out a very shaky breath afterwards. She glanced back at Jungkook - who was giving her a thumbs up with the hand that lay across the blonde’s shoulders - one last time before focusing her attention on the clueless ginger.
Gulping down the last little bit of strength she had in her body, the redhead walked closer to the ginger until she was right next to him. Her being much shorter than the ginger, the girl stepped up on the very tips of her toes before leaning in towards Hoseok. She placed her lips against his cheek in a short kiss, before pulling away and nearly stumbling backwards at her actions.
That seemed to have broken Hoseok from his fascination with the fireworks, his eyes widened as he turned his attention towards the redheaded girl. Kaesi’s eyes were just as wide, a hand placed over her mouth as she stared back at the orange haired boy.
“Kaesi did you just-“
Before Hoseok could even finish his question, Kaesi dashed back inside the brunette’s house, almost slipping on the hardwood floor in the process, her main goal being to hide in the room she shared with Hoseok - the one where Hobi was currently sleeping.
The entire group seemed to have been in confusion at what just happened, the only ones knowing what was going on being Jungkook and Hoseok. The others were too caught up with their significant other; Taehyung being half-asleep against the brunette.
“What just happened?” Seokjin asked, a confused expression clear as day on his face. Namjoon held a raised eyebrow at the scene, his arms still securely placed around the pinkette’s waist as everyone else seemed curious to know of what just unfolded.
Jimin sighed, leaning his head onto the ravenette’s shoulder at the scene that had just unfolded. Of all things, that was the last thing he thought the redhead would have ever done. Yoongi was too clueless to even know what was going on; his sole focus being on the silver haired boy and nothing else. Literally.
“Kaesi just k-kissed me?”
