Itsy bitsy spider

(A/N I GOTTA CLARIFY SOMETHING SO PLS READ THIS! At this point, Tony does NOT know the identity of Spider-Man. However, Spider-Man is now associated with SHEILD and through that Tony was made to make the suit. I still need to go back a few chapters to clarify that. Also sorry for not updating. Since my chapters will be longer, it'll mean slower updates. Sorry. And also sorry if this is kinda crappy. Especially the ending in which I write half asleep... I'll fix it later! Also for the pic above... 'what a catch')

(*Line Break*)

He had to admit the new suit was amazing. It took him some time to adjust to the change but he managed. Thanks to helping Mr. Stark out on said suit he grasped some of its add-ins pretty easily. However with other parts... he struggled.

The light was becoming dim as he swiftly swung through the still bustling streets. He was fiddling with his phone attempting to not drop it while calling up his friend. Swinging with one arm is not as easy as he'd hoped.

"Would you like me to activate 'Inside my head'?"

Peter nearly dropped at the voice, his grip slipping from his web before he tightened his hold. And then he quickly let go right on top of a roof tumbling and whipping his head around to find the source. They sounded so close...

"Hello?" He called out the device in his hands, forgotten.

"Hello Underoos," the feminine voice sounded again. Now Peter understood.

"Are you an AI? Do I have an AI? Dude that's awesome!" The boy was suddenly invested in the voice.

"Yes, I'm an AI. I was made for the needs of 'Underoos'."

"Underoos?" Peter repressed the groan at the name. Mr. Stark had to be the only one who called him that... right?

"Do you not want to be called that?" The voice was gentle, no longer alarming.

"Just call me Peter!" He began walking to the edge of the roof knowing he needed to start moving again.

"It's nice to meet you, Peter," the AI greeted kindly.

"It's nice to meet you too-!" His voice slumped for a moment as he paused. "What should I call you?" He asked politely glancing towards his phone again. He no longer needed to call Ned as his friend just sent the location so he began swinging again.

"Stark didn't set a name for me," this caused a small 'huh' from the boy.

"I guess we'll have to come up with a name for you!" He luckily wasn't too far off from where he needed to go. The next few minutes went on with the hero and AI bickering randomly. Peter who's yet to decide on a fitting name stuck to calling her 'suit lady'.

He knew he was close once he entered the shady part of the area. He took a moment to take in the surroundings. The broken-down buildings and suspicious-looking warehouses. The distant shouts and bangs caused him to hesitate.

"Peter I recommend you proceed with caution." The Suit lady's voice seemed toned down as Peter's feet softly met the ground. Ned did say the place is where most gang fights would happen so that'd explain the 'absolutely no humans around'.

With careful steps, he began approaching one of the smaller warehouses to the side as he noticed some light coming from within. It wasn't as best up as the others but a small hole could be seen to the side and that's what he began walking towards. Giving his trust to the recently wonky senses to warn him of danger.

He crouched once he reached the wall glancing around to make sure he was alone. Peter attempted to make his breathing quieter knowing he had no clue what was to come from this.

'It's stealth mode Peter,' was all he told himself as he leaned to the side peaking into the jagged hole. The place was a mess, a bunch of random items littering on the three-legged tables and on the floor. He took in the papers thrown everywhere and the bottles of a suspicious-looking liquid. But what caught his eyes that made him pause and suck in a breath at the small containers nearly aligned against the back wall. The soft glint of rocks mirrored against his eyes as a small 'oh' sounded from him.

That had to be the same rock as before right...?

Peter debated for a moment his mind racing. "Hey suit lady, do you think you can tell what kinda rock that is?"

There was a short pause before he got a response. "It's not made naturally... it could be man-made or a rock not from earth."

"Not from earth?" He repeated dumbly.

"Yes, Peter. It's a small chance."

That couldn't possibly be it. So was it man-made? How? And what're they planning to do with it?

His focus was quickly brought back to the small hole at the sight of movement. The cracked wall didn't allow for a clear sight but he could make it out.

There was a man in a dark-colored lab coat who was muttering something into his phone, his other hand fiddling with what seemed like a weapon. It looked a lot similar to the one he shot himself with. Will Peter finally get some answers?

"Peter, shouldn't you leave before you get caught?"

"Don't worry I'm just gathering intel," Peter's concentration was mostly on the man. His face was for the most part unseeable as there was little light and the teen was sure he had some sort of mask on. Then with a deep sigh, the phone was placed down and he clicked something on the weapon. He aimed to the side and it took the teen a moment to realize what he was going to hit.

In an open case, there was a spider its moves sluggish and Peter had a feeling it wasn't... normal. The man pressed something once again and a light shot out. It was bright causing Peter to squint and a sizzling sound was heard. The familiar yet painful ring started up in his head and he held back a groan.

"Peter I highly recommend you leave the area," the suit lady tried once again but the boy just didn't listen.

With wide eyes, he watched at the spider for a moment sprawled a red color-not blood- seeping through it like a vein. For that moment it almost seemed to grow its once weak state disappearing as it crawled. You would've guessed it was hunting for something. And then the red took over its body before it curled up. Its legs tucked in and it practically withered. It may have been Peter hearing things but he could've sworn there was a quiet hiss for the reaction.

A spider reacted that way to the weapon?

His sense blared at that moment causing panic. Danger. Get away. Fear.

The suit lady was right. He needed to leave. The wave of panic washed over him as he was wondering if what happened to the spider was happening to him now... just at a much slower pace.

The boy shuffled back, finally deciding to leave. It'd be enough for now. However, the fear was getting together as his legs crossed when he turned resulting in him hitting the floor. And then proceeding to get up and smack himself into the wall.

"Great job on stealth mode Pete," the hero muttered to himself trying to focus. Maybe he wasn't heard?

Silence filled the air as Peter waited to see what would happen. Thinking he was off the hook he took a cautious step back still waiting.

And then with a loud bang, a white flash filled his vision. His sight went blurry before it cleared and his heart immediately sunk. The once small hole was blasted open and there stood lab coat man holding up a different weapon.

So he was heard...

He hesitated as he faced the unknown man. "Heyyyy, you know I was just leaving," he awkwardly stated with a small wave.

He didn't get a response, just the soft sound of the weapon starting up again.

"Oh boy," he huffed now pushing back his panic and need to run. He swiftly and quickly held out his hand and shot out a web wanting to snatch the gun-like threat.

Peter managed to succeed for a moment changing the aim up and throwing the weapon against the groan. The man let out a frustrated puff giving Spider-Man a glare as the gunshot at the ceiling causing a clatter with the falling planks. The noise was a pain to take in.

"You realize I have to clean that," the lab coat man spoke sadly looking at the now-abandoned gun before turning back to the teen.

"Sorry I just didn't want to be hit, you know?" Peter apologized, receiving a knowing nod.

The man leaned towards the table grabbing onto a small dagger and rushing towards Peter with no hesitation. He tried to stab it into the teen's side but was easily blocked.

"Hey, suit lady, I just came up with a name," he grunted as the other man, not questioning this as he swiped his feet underneath Peter. He luckily managed to jump over it only tumbling slightly.

"Though I appreciate it is this really the time when you're being attacked?" Her tone was polite while Peter kept blocking hits and the dagger. He was trying to figure out an exit that didn't include getting stabbed.

He ignored her as he proceeded. "What about Karen? It seems fitting. I don't know," getting a hold of the man's arm he threw the dagger and being his extra self flipped back. "If that's what you wish to call me I don't mind," Peter grinned at the response but it quickly fell.

"I'm not much of a violent person so... sorry," the man who's now lost his gun and dagger pulled out a gun. But not one of those weird guns. A normal gun.

Peter didn't want to deal with a bullet along with his pain. The fact that there wasn't much distance either didn't help. Now it's really time to go. He raised his hand giving a small wave with the other before he shot another web. It attached to a building not too far off that he planned to use as his getaway.

Once on top of the building, he gave the man a final look. "Karen, do you think you can tell who he is?" Something felt... off to Peter.

A small pause before the answer came. "No. There was no clear sight of his face."

He needed to get back to Ned with the information. The man didn't seem surprised nor questioned why Peter was there. Almost like he was expecting it.

After putting a bit of space from him and the lab coat man he stopped on one of the buildings. He had to change out of the suit. He'd told May he'd go grocery shopping and he couldn't just do it as Spider-Man.

This was fine. The ringing in his head subsided and lucky him a headache hadn't started. He was on top of a building glancing down towards an empty alley. He then jumped to the side of the taller building in front of him planning to slide down.

He stuck to the wall just wanting to simply climb down. For a moment he stuck. And then he started to slip. His grip loosened and confusion washed over him.

"Karen? What's wrong with the suit?" He felt as if he were going to fall. Was the suit not designed right?

"Peter I'm afraid it's not from the suit," a short moment passed. "It's you."

It happened much too quickly. He began to slip and his hold was quickly disappearing. His grip against the wall was gone and he was suddenly falling. Oh no. He was up high. This wasn't good.

Peter began panicking as he waved around in the air not knowing what to do.

He didn't plan on falling off a building today.

The scream that left him was more like a yelp as he waited for the collision. It came much faster than he expected. And much softer...?

"Seems like the itsy bitsy spider had a bit of a fall," he recognized the voice. He recognized the voice immediately as he was slowly figuring out what happened.

"Iron-man?" His voice was breathless and confused as he turned his head back and forth. Looking down towards the ground and back to the red and gold suit.

"The one and only," Peter was slowly lowered back to the roof as he growled out of the man's arms. A flush that was unseeable grew knowing what he'd caught himself in.

He just wanted to buy ice-cream and watch movies with his aunt. Peacefully. Was that really too much to ask for?

"What're you doing here?" He intentionally lowered his voice just a bit. This would be a terrible way for Mr. Stark to figure out.

The iron mask was gone as he looked around. "I'm assuming the same reason you're here? Weapons," his explanation was simple and Peter nearly forgot Tony also had dealt with it.

And that just gave him an idea. Spider-Man nodded as he took a step back. "Yeah, actually I was just... leaving from there," he received a skeptical look.

"What'd you see?"

"Nothing. False alarm. Which is why I was heading back."

"You're a terrible liar," Karen's voice sounded in his ear which he tried to simply ignore. Tony raised a brow but then let it go.

"Well, then Webs how do you like the suit?" The subject changed and he couldn't be happier.

"Oh, I love it! The AI was a nice touch," he nodded along to his words swiping out his phone as if buzzed. It was his aunt. He really needed to leave.

"Well, it was uh... nice talking to you. But I gotta go. Maybe I'll see you around?" Tony just nodded in agreement and gave him a wave.

And this time when Peter was sure he'd swung far enough instead of simply webbing down or climbing he took the stairs. Just in case.

He needed to talk to Ned again. But at least now he knows what his next steps were. And he could thank Tony for that.

(A/N does this make sense? What do I need to fix when I go back? I combined some chapters and idk if I wanna keep it that way... like does it make sense this way? Plus it deleted the votes which sucks but oh well. I'll see how many chapters I end up with when I finish this book and decide! Happy Mother's Day! I'm gonna take a nap now)
