Reset-- Guzma x Reader
It's after the party. The sun is setting, and the trees sway in the cool Alolan breeze-- The clouds fill the sky in a beautiful display of reds and oranges above the sun. You gaze out the window of your small home, remembering all your wonderful adventures... All your beautiful Pokemon...
Meanwhile, he skids across the pavement. He'd ran all the way from Hau'oli, and he wasn't just about to give up because he was tired. He was driven by something. He felt himself being driven toward Route One constantly, often mindlessly, but now he knew why he was there.
Almost crashing into the mailbox, he neared the little home at the middle of the route. He felt anxious as he pushed the door open. The whole place seemed almost empty...
All the furniture had been removed, and a lone Litten sat itself on the counter. Cat Pokemon in Alola seem to move in first thing after the former tenants leave. Not good...
He nervously runs his fingers through his white hair. A thought came across his mind-- She's gone. But he dismisses the thought as he enters the room. He knows she's still there.
You look up from the window as soon as you hear your door creak. You feel your heart leap as he enters the room. His glasses tilt slightly off his face in a cute, kind of lazy way.
"Hey, Y/N. Had a feeling you were here." He sounds tired, and depressed in a way you've seen before. After you beat him in the Malie Garden. But he doesn't run away like that time-- in fact, he sits down beside you.
"So what's going on? You... Wanted to tell me something?"
"Uh, yeah. I do." He turns his attention to you, ready to listen. Something so... Un-Guzma-like. Something he only does around Plumeria.
"I know it sounds crazy, but I'm going to be sort of traveling through time."
"Woah..."
"Yes. So basically, I'm going to start my adventure over again. Except I'll be starting over from the beginning, let's say." His expression suddenly changes to something between concern and sadness.
"Everyone...? They'll all forget me." He places a hand on your shoulder.
"Hey. Don't say that, you're unforgettable. Why in the world would anyone forget you?"
"Guz, please understand. You don't have a choice-- nobody does. It-it's called a Reset. You learned about these."
He lets out a small cry of shock as the sadness in his expression becomes more defined. He looks down at the ground beneath him.
"So... I'm not going to remember you? And I won't remember any of this ever happened?" You shake your head sadly. Seeing this, he turns back toward you and wraps you in a hug. You enjoy the moment... His soothing warmth... The fact you feel safe for the first time in a long time.
Still not letting go, he plants a kiss on your forehead. He holds you for a few more moments, ?then pulls away. As he does so, you notice something you've never seen on Guzma before. Tears, not for himself, nor anyone else... but you.
"Agh, I'm sorry. I look like an idiot." He laughs dryly and tries to choke back his emotions. You reach out for his hand, grab it, and pull him into a hug. You feel yourself about to cry as you whisper the words:
"Arceus...? I'm ready."
---
Your mother bursts into the room, startling you. You sit up in bed, your eyes wet.
"Y/N, are you okay? You were crying in your sleep."
"Nah, I'm fine. Don't worry about it." Your mother nods, and leaves the room. You check your pocket for your Pokemon, and realize it isn't there. The Reset was successful. But as you get up, you feel a weight in your other pocket...
You reach in and pull out a Dawn Stone, still covered in little grains of sand from the beach. You turn it over onto its bottom, and see little marks in the stone-- spelling out "Guzma". You laugh sadly as you put it back in your pocket, exiting the room.
Meanwhile in Po Town, the whole Skull gang is boggled as to why there was a Waterium Z with "Y/N" carved on it in Guzma's pocket.
