48.
Jesse looks at me as I enter the room.
I pulled out a piece of paper and wrote. The guards took a photo of my ID. Something's going down. Scrunching up the paper, I threw it to Jesse, and he caught it.

His eyes widen as he reads it. Looking around the room, he takes everything in before pulling a pen out of his pocket and writing something back. Scrunching the paper, he throws it at me, and I catch it.
Opening it, I read what he wrote.
I thought that might happen, which is why Cole has the woman meet us when we leave.
Uncle Kevin takes a seat behind the glass window, lifts the phone to his ear, and waits for me.
Walking over to the chair, I pick up the phone and look at the man who took so much from my family. "Kevin," I say.
He frowns. "Aren't you going to call me Uncle Kevin anymore?"
Shaking my head. "You don't deserve that after everything you've done to my family."
"I didn't do anything to your family. They are lying to you. It's the other way around."
What does he mean by saying it's the other way around?
He laughs. "You're brothers have been lying to you since you got home. It was my wife that was murdered by..." he looks around at the other prisoners before saying. "Liam and Antwon. They have access to your parent's accounts and stole the fortune from them. For some reason, they put offshore accounts in my name, and somebody tipped off the authorities that gave them my exact location."
My brothers wouldn't do that to hurt our parents.
"How did you buy the place in New York?"
"I didn't buy a place in New York, Julia. If you need proof, go to my safety deposit box. Everything you need is in there." He places his hand over his heart and says. "The key holds everything."
The key?
I frown as I try to remember if he gave me a key. Looking at the necklace I've never taken off, I see a small key on it.
"You must unlock the book to get everything you need from the safety deposit. Please make sure you're alone when you do it. People are watching us, Julia, and I won't be able to live with myself if something happens to you."
"I'm in danger by being here, aren't I?"
"Yes, but the danger comes with being related to your brothers. They will do all they can to keep their secrets from being revealed. They probably know I've already told you that it's them behind everything. Next time you see them, don't trust them. They will hurt my brother and your mother to get what they want."
"What about midnight exports?"
His face pales. "It's a cover for their exportation of drugs. The ones Liam was addicted to. I don't think he fully got off them. He knows how to act when it comes to family."
I hear a commotion from the prisoner's side and see a guy push his chair back.
He pulls something out of his pocket and walks over to Uncle Kevin. The shine of the object makes me gasp.
"Uncle Kevin," I yell. "Watch out." Just as the knife pierces my uncle's side, blood gushes out of the wound.
Kevin falls to the ground. His eyes widen before he mouths. "Run,"
I see the gate opened by one of the prisoners, and everything goes to hell.
The visitors rush out the door, and I lose Jesse in the crowd.
One of the guards walks over to me. "Miss Harris. Come with me."
Shaking my head, I say. "I need to get out of here."
Grabbing my arms, he puts them behind my back. "You're not going to get out of here. I can't allow you to be free and ruin the boss's plans."
What Boss is he talking about?
Looking him in the eyes, I say. "Do you work for my brothers? Liam and Antwon Harris?"
A smile spreads across his face. "So, Kevin did tell you everything? Boss isn't going to be happy that you know this. Maybe it'll be better if I take you out here and now. No one will notice that you never made it home."
I laugh. "A lot of people will notice that I haven't come home. Do you think you can get away with this?"
"Yes, I believe I will get away with this." He leads me further down the corridor away from the prisoners. He puts the walkie-talkie up to his mouth and says, "I have her. Meet me in the coffee room, and we'll decide what happens to her next."
"Yes, Sir." Three different voices say.
I can't die in this place.
The guy opens the door to the coffee room and pushes me into the chair. He cuffs my hands behind my back. "You're not going anywhere, princess."
That's what he thinks.
I pull the paper clip out of my pants and adjust it until I can put it into the hole. I hear a click, and a smile spreads across my face.
I'm one step closer to getting out of here.
All I need is a gun from one of the correctional officers.
I'm not going to go out without putting up a fight.
The guys enter the room and look at me. "So, this is Bosses family. No wonder he doesn't want us to hurt her. I think he wants to do it himself."
I remain quiet as they talk about my brothers.
When their attention was elsewhere, I stood up and grabbed the gun from the correctional officer that was closest to me. Aiming the gun at them, I say. "Let me out."
"No," the guy who took me out of the visitor's room says. "You're mine, and I won't let you go anywhere."
I pull the trigger, and the bullet hits his leg. "I wasn't asking." Walking over to him, I grab his keys while still aiming the gun at the three guys standing around. "If you follow me. I'll kill you." Opening the door to the coffee room, I step out and lock it behind them.
Walking down the corridor, I see prisoners roaming the hall, fighting each other and setting things on fire.
Shit. How am I going to get out of here in one piece?
Pulling the microphone up to my lips, I say. "I'm trapped inside. There's a riot going on, and I can't escape."
I hear Jesse say, "I'm here with Amalia. We're going to get you out."
"Please, hurry." My heart races as I peek around the corner and see a few guys running down the hall.
Pushing myself back against the wall.
Please don't see me.
They continue to run past me.
I step out from my corner and head towards the exit. Seeing a gate, I put the key into it and unlocked it.
As I step through the gate, I feel something hit the back of my head, and I fall to the ground. A guy says. "You're not leaving us today, princess." That's the last thing I hear before blacking out.
