"The festival is today! Can you help me pick out a kimono?" A girl with short pink hair and slight tomboy-ish clothes asked her parents, who held each of the girl's hands. "Yes, Sakura." Her mother replied with a smile, now picking up the child.

Today was the grand festival! No corner was left unturned with all of the paper lanterns and banners up. A subtle mood set in the air, one of the cheery and happy times. Every shop was bustling with people, and a peaceful chatter was heard throughout the entire village. The festival celebrated the Kyuubi's sealing away, and also the memory of the Fourth Hokage: Minato Namikaze. Four years ago today, the Kyuubi was released from its host, Kushina Uzumaki, also know as the ninetails jinchuriki. The Kyuubi, also known as the ninetails, had gotten out when the seal was weakened after Kushina gave birth to a baby boy. A man in a mask had come and fully released the seal. The Kyuubi attacked the village, killing many noble shinobi, and devastating the village. In order to save the village, Minato Namikaze teleported the tailed beast, his wife, and his son outside of the village using the Raijin teleportation justu: Minato's trademark move.

Minato was called the yellow flash for his teleportation justu, while also having bright yellow hair and bright blue eyes.

Kushina, the red hot habanero, or tomato, had long red hair, and dark purple/blue eyes. She had these things called chakra chains, which she used to restrain the Kyuubi. Minato planned on sealing half of the ninetails in Kushina, and the other half into his newborn son, Naruto. The reason was that he didn't have enough chakra to seal it into an adult, only enough to seal half into an adult, and a half into a child, at the cost of his own life. He was willing to take this risk.

The ninetails growled. "You will not imprison me again, especially not in this child!" He then swiped his claw down, aiming to kill Naruto.

"No!" Kushina shouted, as she and Minato jumped forward, stopping the claw... but with their own bodies. The couple was now pressed close to one another, both behind Naruto, and Kushina was in front of Minato. The Kyuubi's claw was going through their stomachs, as Kushina's chakra chains restricted the Kyuubi fully now, this using all of her strength. She looked at Naruto, who was laying on top of the blanket he was supposed to be swaddled in. "Oh, Naruto.... there are so many things I want to tell you before we go... I wish I could experience you growing up... I just want to say... don't be picky about what you eat. Don't forget to eat lots so you can grow strong and healthy. Also, you don't have to be smart in school, just make sure to smile. Don't drink alcohol until you are of age, and be wary of girls. They are of the shinobi sins y' know... I don't want you to be pervy like your godfather, so be modest when being around girls... also, don't be with a girl who's stuck up. I want you to find someone like me... and Naruto... we love you... and don't ya forget it." She said softly. She watched as Naruto cried, and she shushed him a bit.

Minato smiled softly, blood dripping down his chin. "I would've said something too if it weren't for your chatty mother.." He teased. He looked at his son, before gathering up his chakra. "We love you, Naruto..." He muttered, repeating Kushina's previous words, before setting his hands on Naruto's stomach. "Reaper death seal!" He shouted. He split the Kyuubi's chakra in half, as he was simply a beast with the most amount of chakra any beast or person could have. He split the personality off of Yin and Yang, sealing the dark part of the Kyuubi inside of himself while sealing the other half in Naruto. He then proceeded to seal some of his and Kushina's chakra into Naruto, so that Naruto could speak to both of them when certain events arose.

The ninetails roared, soon disappearing. Kushina and Minato fell to the ground, Minato holding Kushina in the last loving hug he would ever give her.

That was when Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki died...

Before Minato had died, he had ordered the previous Hokage, the only Hokage who hadn't died yet, to make sure Naruto was hailed as a hero... and another 2 things. 1) no-one was to know of Naruto being the new ninetails jinchuriki, or at least it wasn't to be spoken of from here on out. 2) Naruto's last name would be Uzamaki, for the yellow flash, Minato Namikaze, had many enemies, many of which Minato wanted to stay away from Naruto.

From that day, Naruto had taken on his mother's maiden name, Uzumaki. But the other two requests weren't followed through... many parents spoke to one another of Naruto being the new host of the nine tails, and told their kids to stay away from him, often calling him a demon. Because of this knowledge, Naruto was hated and treated as a foe rather than a hero.

Ever since then, the Villagers celebrated the festival on October 10th, the day the Kyuubi being sealed away, but also made sure to be even more harsh to Naruto.

Now, four years after the incident, Naruto was running for his life. He ran as fast as his little legs could get him, as an angry mob followed behind him. He tripped, falling forward, as he then scuffed his elbows and knees. Tears pricked at his eyes, as he tried to quickly get up, but it was too late: the mob had reached him. He screamed for anyone to help him, but he was dragged into a dark alley, the merciless villagers being the only ones to hear his pleas.

Meanwhile, Kakashi Hatake stood in front of an all too familiar grave. He was an Anbu, a shinobi protector for the village. He had black eyes, and silver hair.... though his right eye was covered with his Haitai, his mouth and nose covered up with his shirt collar. The grave read 'Rin Nohara, beloved sister and daughter. ' he squatted down, sighing as he set flowers on her grave, before visiting Minato and Kushina's grave, doing the same with another bouquet of flowers. "Sensei... things have gotten harder... I met this kid named Tenzo, who was being experimented on by Orochimaru. He and Itachi Uchiha have been assigned to the Anbu not too long ago. They're apart of my team now. I don't want to let them down, but... these thoughts about my father... I feel lost.." he said. After a few moments of silence, he stood. "I suppose I should go now. I'm late to watch Naruto. He really is a trouble maker... but you would be proud." He said, before going to watch over Naruto.

It was too late. Naruto needed a protector long before Kakashi arrived.... and the consequence were grave.
