Chapter 4

----5 years later----

They make out in this chapter so....heads up

phil

Today was the day. I felt excited for Dan. But him, not so much.
"Dan come on. The ball is tonight. You have to find someone!" I whined. He looked down at the floor.
"I've already found someone." He muttered, his cheeks turning a soft pink.
"Great! Who is it?" I chirped.
"You." He whispered, so it was almost inaudible. I opened my mouth, but no words came out. Dan wasn't usually the soft, sweet type. He was more flirtatious, and definitely confident. Traits I wished I had, but I'm the soft, sweet one.
"But Dan, your father won't allow that." I finally spoke.
"He already knows, and he doesn't mind." He gained his confidence back quickly.
"Well I'm not."
"What?" A flash of hurt fell over his face, and I felt instantly horrible. Dan and I weren't in a relationship, and I doubted we ever would. He told me he is attracted to females, not males, but over the years, something grew on us, and it was each other, as cheesy and cliché as it sounds.
"Dan, you need someone to make you happy." I stepped back, knowing that would anger him, but he needed to know. He furrowed his brows.
"You do make me happy Phil! Why do you think I've been spending the past 5 years with you?" His voice growing in volume. He did this a lot, and it always scared me, but he never hit me. He knew how to control himself.
"But Dan, if you went with me, you know how much drama it would cause." I stayed calm, like always. Always.
"I understand that, Phil." He sighed.
"Then you would know better than to go to that ball with me." I said flatly. He looked up at me from where he was sitting, and there was something shining on his cheeks; tears. Actual tears.
My face softened.
"Dan, I'm sorry but-"
"It's fine, Phil. Don't apologize. You were thinking, I wasn't."
"I'm sorry." I hugged him, his head resting on my stomach and arms wrapped around my lower waist. He sobbed into my jacket.
"Phil, I hate living like this. I hate living knowing that one move could ruin everything. Being known by everyone isn't fun. Having to be the 'perfect prince' just isn't me, Phil. It isn't me." He sobbed. I had never seen him cry so hard before. Ever. Not that it made me see him differently, see him as weak. He was anything but weak.
His sobs died down a bit and he sniffed, hugging me tighter. I would've have had it any other way, honestly. His breathing slowed down to a normal pace, notifying that he was finally calm. I decided to pull away, but he held me tighter. I chuckled, patting his soft hair.
We stood there for a few minutes, just relaxing into each others arms. He stood up, jerking me out of my thoughts and smiled.
"Thank you, Phil." He said sweetly. I shrugged, smiling back.
"I'll leave you alone now." I bowed quickly and turned away, beginning to walk to the door. He grabbed my wrist, startling me, pulling me closer to him so that our faces were centimeters apart. I felt my face heat up and turn red. I definitely wasn't expecting that. He smirked, seeing my red cheeks.
"You always do that. Why?" He tilted his head a bit, still holding me close.
"Do what?" I bit my lip, and he glanced down at my lips. It took all my will power not to stutter.
"Blush. After the amount of times I've done this," He started. "And plan to do it," He grew quiter. "You still turn red." His voice returned to its normal level. If it was possible, I think I felt my face grew even warmer.
I shrugged. He only smirked again.
"I wonder if you'll blush if I do this." He finished quickly and placed his lips to mine. Startled, I stared wide eyed at nothing, but I found myself melting into the kiss. My eyes fluttering shut, my lips moving in tune with his, his arms falling around my waist, my arms wrapped around his shoulders, my hands relaxing on his neck. Our lips moved in tune with each others, the kiss still slow and passionate. We did this a lot, when we actually had privacy. But now that I think about it, that wasn't a lot.
Our lips stayed connected, only parting to catch our breaths to make the kiss last longer, allowing our eyes to open slightly to admire each other's. I liked this, I liked doing this. I liked it staying sweet and calm, not lustful and needing for any sexual tendencies. (I mean, not that I would mind.) As dominant as Dan was, he wasn't like that. He liked to keep things like this slow and calm and passionate, and maybe on rare occasions, lustful. And I, I was the same way.
My thoughts wondered back to the kiss. I just now realized how soft his lips were. They seemed untouched, and only one word could describe them: perfect. Unlike mine; my own lips were chapped and faded, from all the work I did as a kid, and now, me never taking care of them. I didn't have a reason to. Until now. It was things like this that made me feel, I don't know how to describe it. It didn't make me feel normal, though.
Dan interrupted my thoughts with the feeling of his warm hand find its way up my jacket. My face heated quickly, of course.
Dan pulled his lips away from mine, but keeping our foreheads together, eyes locked. I pouted, my lips almost feeling cold since his absence was removed. He smirked, leaving my heart racing. He moved his head into the crook of my neck, his hot breaths flowing onto my neck. I shivered, and I almost don't know why.
I felt his soft lips being pressed to my neck, biting gently. I bit my lip to keep from moaning aloud. I can't imagine how that would turn out. He sucked gently on my neck, definitely leaving hickeys and possibly a bruise. His hand found its way farther up my shirt. He rubbed circles on my stomach while kissing my neck softly. He hadn't done this before, and I never really thought he would. He bit again, only bit harder this time. I let out a soft moan.
"Phil, don't do that." His hot breath blowing onto my neck, biting it again.
"I can't help it." I breathed quickly, moaning again as he bit my neck. He began pushing me against the nearest wall, pinning my hands above my head. He had stopped kissing my neck, and was instead staring me straight in the eye.
His eyes were locked on mine, neither of us looking away from the other. It wasn't uncomfortable, just odd. He didn't do things like this. But maybe he was using me. Using me to forget. Forget all the troubles going on outside the locked door. The edges of my mouth turned down, and he noticed quickly as his eyes glanced down to my mouth. He titled his head.
"What's wrong? Are you not comfortable?" He sounded a tad worried, his grip on my wrists loosening greatly. I shook my head, looking down. He removed his hands from my wrists, one hand pulling my head up to look at him in the eyes again.
"Just tell me if I ever make you uncomfortable." He whispered. I nodded, though I know he would never make me uncomfortable. "But what's wrong? Is it too much? Do we need to stop?" He glanced down at my neck, his hands falling behind him. I shook my head again.
"No, I just had a thought." I mumbled, looking back down. He didn't force me to look him in the eye this time.
"And what was that thought?" He tilted his head slightly.
"Nothing. I know it's not true, so it would be useless bringing it up." I looked back at him. He nodded. I cupped his face in my hands and pulled his lips back onto mine. He stood, startled for a second, but he eventually let his hands fall onto my waist and leaned into the kiss, keeping his body right against mine.
After a few minutes, I gathered the courage to lift my legs up and wrap them around his waist. He looked at my, probably flushed face, shocked, but grinned, using his hands to hold my legs up and balanced. He began kissing me again, slow and passionate. I realized, at this moment, that I loved him.
