Chapter 6
Dans POV
A little nap wouldn't hurt me before the ball, right? It would only make me have to rush a little bit so I could be approachable to my father. I opened my eyes. I was cuddled up next to Phil, one arm was wrapped around his waist and the other was under his face, being used as a pillow to Phil. I grinned. I liked these days. We were never able to do it much, though. The maids would always come and wake us up at 8 am every morning, and if they saw Phil and me together, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Well, I would, but they wouldn't be able to live at all.
I lifted my arm gently from under him, as to not wake him up. He was so angelic when he slept. He looked so perfect and soft, or as he liked to say it,"soft and neat". I chuckled lightly to myself. Even though everyone thought I was the "rebellious boy", but they were all wrong. Yeah, I made myself seem like that in public, but when I'm with Phil, I act like a completely different person. He has even said it. I glanced back at Phil, he seemed to still be deep into his cat nap.
I slid on the under shirt that had been apart of the outfit that was specifically made for me, made for this night. I wasn't going to chose someone, especially a woman. Girls were gross. I had thought that since I was young. I laughed at myself and how foolish I could be at times. It was a funny thought, really. How I used to always imagine myself growing old with the woman I love, with 2 kids in the castle, 1 boy, 1 girl. I thought I had my future planned out, but of course, life had to throw Phil at me, and BAM! I'm attracted to guys. I hadn't had many friends growing up, so I had never really thought about being attracted to guys, because I thought it was weird. It wasn't weird, at all. But to society, it was wrong. Oh so wrong. Of course, if I hadn't met Phil, I'd be planning to meet a nice, kind, humorous, fine-looking lady to be able to spend the rest of my life with. Ha, that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. I had already found the love of my life though, hadn't I? I admired Phil once more, smiling as his eyes fluttered.
I buttoned up the undershirt and pulled the jacket on. The jacket was heavy, and I'd get hot in it, no doubt. The slacks that had been designed for me matched the jacket: gold, purple, and black. Those were the usual colors I chose. I examined myself in the mirror, proud of the masterpiece.
"I'm still not going to the ball with you." Phil's voice made me jump and I look in the mirror. He stood behind me, his side resting against the door frame, a small frown on his face. "I mean, I'll be there, but I won't dance with you." He restated, waving his hands around a bit as he spoke. He did that a lot, and personally, I found it quite adorable the way how he couldn't keep his hands still when he talked. I pouted.
"Words hurt, you know." I rubbed my finger from my eye down to my jaw, representing a tear. Phil rolled his eyes, a grin still on his face. He walked over to me and began fixing my fringe. It was a bit messy, I must admit. I must not have noticed it earlier. He then placed the crown, that had been sitting on the pillow beside me, on my head. We were about the same height, I was slightly taller, though. I admired him and smiled as he focused on placing the crown perfectly on my head. Being the cheesy freak I am, I described Phil as ethereal. It was true. Even my father said he was good looking.
"Perfect." He smiled, admiring his work.
"Ya know, it'd look better if you were with me." I smirked, putting my hand out so he could grab it. He did grab my hand, but he frowned.
"Dan, we talked about this. We can't expose you, even if your father is okay with it." He smiled sadly. I frowned, too.
"I know." I sighed, playing around with Phil's fingers.
"But who knows? Maybe you'll find a nice lady to dance with." He joked. I rolled my eyes, but laughed.
"Women are weird." I shook my head.
"To you. To most men, they're amazing." He stated, sliding on his jacket.
"Well," I grew quiet. "We aren't like most men." Phil stopped and sighed.
"Yes, true, but, if we weren't like the way we are, we wouldn't be together, and I'd hate life to be that way." He gave a small smile and cupped my face in his hands. I smiled, placing a sweet kiss on his lips.
"True." I smiled, and kissed Phil again. And hopefully forever.
