Driving down the street I looked and seen a place where me and my mom used to go to,be ng almost tears to my eyes. I stopped the car at the red lobster guy and looked at the store called Aunt Julie's Pie Shop, which brung out a memory in my eyes.

Flashback Begin

Walking down the street, my mother was under my father arm,with his wrapped around her shoulder we walked to the store to get me a Apple Mango Deep Dish Pie, knowing that I shouldn't be eating all this sugar but I made a good grade in school so I earned this delicious goodness. Walking inside, I saw so many people hawking over pies, cake, candy, even drinks such as milkshakes in a bottle, sodas and other drinks.

Aunt Julie never really understood the technology we have during this new era, so she stayed with the old decor,you know the register where you had to push that made the cha-ching sound, she even made to get only the sodas during the years of 70's and 60's. Not many really understood why,because many peo lie tried to give her advice,even tried to buy it from her but in her words "I made this place from the bottom with my husband, I'm not go stop until it's my last breathe" and after that comment many people left her alone.

Walking to the counter the one and only Aunt Julie was giving a bag that looks like a bag for the couple that was getting something they ordered, looking my way and smiled. She walked from behind the counter and gave me a hug while giving hugs to my mom and dad.

"Hello my little sugar plum, how are you on this fine morning" pinching my cheeks which hurt a little and made laugh and whine at the same time

"Good! I got a A in my class today,it was math! I was headed the top of the class!" jumping up and down and smiling like a red lollipop while Aunt Julie laughed at my remark, rubbing my head

"That's good to hear, and I guess you up here for your favorite sweet since you got a good grade in school?"nodding my head, she smiled while going to the back of he counter grabbing the pie cutter and a tray to go, selecting the pie and cutting two triangle s and putting them in the tray and closed it,giving it to me while my dad paid the food. While That's was going on my mother walked out the door to look at stuff in the clothing store giving my dad enough time to pull Aunt Julie to the side.

"You still be able to make the cake for the anniversary tomorrow?"

"Yes chy, now I'm go being the cake over as soon as I finish it, she going to love it. But do you have the gift you going to get her?" nodding his head he pulled out a necklace box showing a diamond necklace with her initial, his and mind in the with a heart around it.

"She's going to love it, I'm happy you doing this for her. You is a good man, keep it that way you hear?" nodding his head he gave her a hug and she gave me another hug before we walked out and caught up with mom and went to the movies and out to eat, going home afterwards.

Flashback End

That was one of the good memories I had in my mind. Years later when my mother died after my father left, Aunt Julie and my grandma was basically my mother and father because they taught me right from wrong,even though I made it hard for them.

Going to the building I park my car in the front, getting out after cutting it off and walked inside, hearing the bell ring and got many people attention and they waved and greeted me while I have back the same. I looked around to see pictures of many people and I gave the memorial of Kenny Wentsworth, Aunt Julie's husband. He passed away in his sleep, a year before my mom killed herself. His funeral was the most memorable day because instead of crying, we sung his favorite song Wade In The Water, and many other gospel songs and gave him homecoming funeral. It took a lot of toll on Julie but she stood strong. Feeling a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to see Julie in the flesh, giving her a hug while shedding down a tear.

"Hi my sugar plum, it's good to see you too. How you been? I haven't heard from since you got into college"guiding me to the chairs and tables while asking the helpers to bring the special which I didn't know what it was.

"I'm okay,doing a little better. I've met someone,his name is Adonis. And I'm sorry I haven't been around, it's just a lot going on that I'm trying to put in place"grabbing her hand while she nodded her head in understanding

"Well I understand all of that. I'm glad you found someone, I wasn't really fond of that Kevin guy, he was a little effy to me. I'm not go go into all the you better not hurt him belay blah because you should already know that, I raised you. Everyday you liking like you mom. I miss her so much"wiping her eyes while laughing a little because she can tell I was about to cry, wiping my tears that start falling off.

"Me too. I miss her so much. Me and my dad is kind of talking again, but it's go take some time to get that bond back" nodding her head, I looked up and seen my favorite pie, you can see the apple and mango slices on the side of the pie cut at. Putting it down I dived right in.

"That's good to hear, I have to go up there and visit him one day. But I'm glad you came by here, I have to give you something"getting up she walked to the back and came back and when I seen the box I knew what it was, it was the box my dad gave my mom for their anniversary. She opened it and it had the necklace that I thought went missing in the moving out the house.

"I hold it after she passed away so it wouldn't get messed up or lost until one day you was old enough to know about it. I want to keep it now, and wear it proudly or give it to that Adonis fella but only do it when your ready. When the right moment,you give it to him. It was nice to seee y you again sugar plum, and I hope I get to meet this Adonis fella"getting up, I hugged her and agreed while taking the pie with in a tray and walked to my car.

Opening the box again, I looked at the necklace and shed another tear but smiled.

"I miss you mom"
