The Trio

"Bill, you idiot! You can't just color like that! You must color inside the lines!"

"I-is that so?"

A long time ago, the two childhood friends were just in elementary school when they first met.

A girl, who prioritizes organizing, always careful, strict, and all-around perfect, and a small, frail boy, who's friendly, ready to help, obedient, but is gullible and has a very low self-esteem.

Bill had a lot of friends before Jane, no doubt about that. He makes a lot of friends in a short span of time, but most of the time, those "friends" of his always use him for money or running ridiculous errands. In fact, the only one who he can call as a real friend, is the girl who talked to him first. The one and only girl who initiated before he could make a move-- Mary Jane Monroe.

Who knew that a little scolding from Jane could make Bill's life have a meaning?

Jane has done so many things for Bill. She always shoos Bill's fake friends, she always keeps Bill's health in check may it be physically or emotionally, always teaches him during break times, talk to him when he's feeling down, it was like Jane was dragging him around instead of the usual Bill dragging everyone else around. Jane is a real friend. She really was like the sunshine that Bill adored.

Bill appreciated Jane's existence. By simply talking to him first, her existence means a lot to him.

The once always empty boy who tried so hard to fit in with others is now a boy who always accepts defeat, strives to become better, and generally becoming casual. He's less pressured, his self-esteem rose up, albeit a little, and he has more decent friends than before. All because of Jane... No doubt, even Jane's life changed because of Bill.

Although she's still strict, tying herself up with tight ropes, Bill tried to untie her slowly, letting her have fun once in a while, making her have a few breaks. He taught her how to relax. When her pressure becomes too much for her, Bill appears, holds her sweaty, shaky hands, and faces her with a warm bright smile that reassures her. Bill shares her burdens. He carries her burden with no exchange at all. "If only I can carry all of her burdens, then everything's fine." He always thinks to himself.

It was going well.

Until the day Simon appeared. He went to the same school as Jane and Bill as a new transfer student in the high school department.

Jane's eyes shone when her eyes met Simon. It was like love at first sight. "There was something in Simon that makes me attracted to him." She says.

Without any further knowledge, Bill felt like his heart was smashed into several pieces. He got angry at Simon for no reason at all. He felt like he needed to get rid of Simon from Jane's life, but he has absolutely no idea why. With this impure thought going on his head back and forth, he was stuck in the middle, where he couldn't figure out what to do so he chose to do nothing.

In a way, Simon did change. The now quiet and annoying hooded Simon was once a guy whose actions is pure all throughout. Even when you turn yourself in different angles when you're looking at him, his motives and actions are not to be overlooked.

This led Bill's thoughts of getting rid of him to disappear in blobs of darkness as his heart is slowly becoming uncovered. In truth, those blobs of darkness are what Sherry considers a dangerous emotion all along-- jealousy.

He gradually opens up with Simon until they became friends later. Before Bill could know it, his former enemy became a friend whose actions equal to an angel. And, as an action that says that she accepts Bill's new friend as her own, Jane joined in. It was then that the trio became as what they are today...
