Long, long ago, before we were separated into 12 Families, we were gods, roaming the Earth. At the time, Earth was broken into four biomes, each corresponding with an element. And, as you know, there are 12 constellations, or zodiac signs, three aligned to one element each. Sagittarius, Aries, and Leo owned the Realm of Fire, which was dominated by volcanoes and heat. Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn preserved the Realm of Earth, which was beautiful forests and lush grasslands. Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio ruled the Realm of Water, which was endless oceans, seas, lakes, ponds, and rain. Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius inhabited the Realm of Air, which were tall mountains, stretching far into the sky. They lived in peace, until two of their own meddled in things better off left alone.

Pisces and Aries fell in love. Since they could not conceive a child, they attempted to create one using different elements. It is not clear exactly what they did or used, but it created two beings. One of Darkness, and One of Light. Pisces and Aries were so proud, and they were blinded to Darkness's evil ways. However, they hid their children from the others and went into hiding. They educated Darkness and Light on their world, and Darkness grew hungry for power. He wished to rule over all four Realms and he created what he called the Dark Arts. Pisces, Aries, and Light were blind to his evil and continued to see the 'good' in him. Eventually, he found his way back to the Realms. His family realized he was evil, but by then, it was too late.

Darkness used his Dark Arts to call shadows to his aide, and together they first marched on the peaceful Realm of Earth. They turned the beautiful forest into the Forest of Night. Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn tried their best to vanquish him, but they did not know how to defeat this new enemy. Darkness plowed through the Earth elements and their bodies lay there, in their dead forest. Next, Darkness defeated Fire and Water, easily pitting them against each other until the six elements lay dying, each in their opponent's Realm.

Last, but not least, Darkness went after the Realm of Air. It was a tough battle, and it lasted several months. One day, the Air elements could not counter Darkness's shadows anymore. They ended up lying on top of their mountain home, smiling up at the stars above.

Light watched this battle, waiting until it was over. When Darkness stood victorious, she attacked him from behind and they engaged in a fast, deadly battle. This lasted only but a couple of days, as Light was pure. She was destined to vanquish the Darkness. Finally, when they were both weary and tired, they called a truce. Light became a being in the sky, destined to cast light on those below. Darkness also became a being in the sky, destined to watch over the shadows when the Light departed.

And so, when the Light and Dark became the Sun and the Moon, the 12 Zodiacs' bodies burst into many pieces. These became humans, walking the Earth as it was left and aligning with a sign and element.

However, there is one thing that did not become human. The Zodiacs' hearts. They, instead, rose up into the sky, where they shattered into millions of pieces to become what we call stars, and to create what we call........

Constellations.

This whole chapter is fantasy. The only things that are true are the things about the zodiac signs and the elements associated with them. The zodiac signs weren't actually gods, this is just something of my imagination.
