Today I leave my home.

"Mr. Diaz," I sigh, "Ms. Diaz, we need to talk."

"What's wrong Star?" Mom asks, "you know you and your brother are always welcome here."

"About that," I sigh, "I'm actually Comet."

"What?" Dad asks, "but... I have so many questions."

Star walks in, wearing the same outfit, a gender neutral causal outfit with a green shirt and striped pants.

"Look," I explain, "I've told you guys all about Mewni and the curse. Comet and I got an idea. I impersonate her, and she stays here. I'm sorry mom, dad, but I'm leaving Earth."

"What?" Mom gets up, "you really have to go?"

"I'm sorry," I sigh, "but... I decided it best not to worry you guys."

"It's OK," Mom hugs me, "we understand. Will you come visit?"

"When I can," I explain, "but it'll be a while."

"Shouldn't you say bye to Marcie?" Dad asks, "she's your best friend."

"No," I reply, "I don't want her to know yet, OK? Just... let me gets things in order. I'm thinking I may invite Jim and Johnson over to say goodbye before I go. Maybe Tiffany too. That OK?"

"We'll handle that," dad reassures me, "you... just... try to tell Marcie OK? Before to long?"

"I will dad," I get up.

"Well," Star explains, "guess I'll be moving in. I better go pack. I'll be back tonight. See ya."

Star opens a portal and goes through. I hear Marcie coming downstairs for breakfast.

"OK," I explain, "I'm not... ready tell her yet. I'm gonna go invite over Johnson and Jim, I'll be back."

"See ya Comet," dad hugs me, "and if things go wrong on Mewni, please, come home."

It could be Eclipsa all over again. I'm not leaving Mewni until I'm king.

"I will," I lie, "I promise. See ya."

I head outside, and take a deep breath. It's gonna be a long time before I can come back here. I'm gonna savor my last day here. Just in case...

I never come back.

This is Marcie this chapter.

I wake up to the front door closing.

"Morning guys," I greet.

Mom and dad look away, as if hiding something.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Uhhhhh..." mom hesitates, something's screwy here, and my guess, it involves Comet, "we're throwing a party for Comet. Do you wanna lend a hand?"

A party for Comet? Didn't we make up for his birthdays a month ago?

"Why?" I inquire.

"To uhhh..." dad's just making an excuse, but I don't know what he's hiding, "celebrate the capture of Henious."

I know I should go for the truth, but a party for Comet...

May be a good time to confess my feelings. I mean, there's no way I'll have the courage to, but still.

"I'm on it," I smile, "don't worry about it."

This could be my chance. If only I had the courage. If only...

Oh well. It's not like Comet's going anywhere. I've got all the time in the world...

"So," Jim asks, as the three of us walk back to my place and the sun begins to set. I've been abiding Marcie so I don't have to tell her. I don't want to. She'll be so sad. Then I'll get sad. Then we'll both be sad. Maybe I should leave without telling her. I mean, I called Tiffany to come hang out, but I haven't told her yet, but I will soon. "You're leaving Earth?'

"Just until I'm king," I reply, "I'll be back in a while."

"And your sister is staying?" Jim asks.

"Yeah," I reply, "she asked if you talk about her?"

Jim's face goes red.

"You'd make a cute couple," Johnson adds.

"Wait," I ask, "is that what that's about?"

"Yeah," Jim replies, "I mean a little bit."

With a green glow on my cheeks, I grab Jim's collar.

"You can date my sister," I warn, "but if you dump her later, and you break her heart, I'll break you."

"Dude chill!" Johnson exclaims, "are you OK man?"

The green glow calms. "Yeah," I take deep breaths, "sorry, I've been having these outbursts of darkness."

"You should get that checked," Jim replies.

"By who?" I demand, "Glossayck."

"Yes actually that's a great idea," Jim replies.

"Well," I sigh, "I can't. Cause if I take the book Moon will get suspicious. Don't worry about it."

I enter the house only to be greeted by Marcie smiling and holding a cake that says, "I have no clue what the party is for but can't go wrong with cake."

On one hand, that's hilarious, on the other, it makes me feel even worse about not telling her.

"A party for me?" I ask.

"Sure!" Marcie smiles, "dad says it's about the Henious incident, but I think there's something else."

"Uhhhh..." Comet hesitates. He's hiding something, when he's hiding something, he gets the cutest expression, kinda confused and he looks away. Its adorable. "I'll explain later," he smiles. I gotta talk to Tiffany first anyways.

"Oh," Marcie seems disappointed, "I think she just arrived in the back."

"Thanks," I smile, "I'll tell you what's going on when I get back."

I head to the backyard where I'm greeted by Tiffany exiting her carriage.

"OK," she demands, "you text me saying you're gonna be to busy for me? What's going on?"

"OK," I explain, "it's a long story, but, basically, Star and I are trading lives. If I interact with you, my cover's blown, so... I'm sorry, but I won't be able to see you for a while, but I promise, I will be king, and then we can pick up where we left off."

"You always make things sound better than they are," she chuckles, "when are you leaving?"

"As soon as Star calls," I reply, "she'll call me, open a portal, and I'll be gone."

"Well," Tiffany touches my face gently, triggering the pink glow, "before you go, one last kiss?"

I kiss her deeply, which she returns. The pink glow bright on my cheeks...

I see Comet kissing Tiffany through the window. Yeah. Not confessing. It's better this way. He's happier this way. I gotta let it go."

I lean out of the kiss.

"Come on," I hold her hand, "let's head in. I still have to tell Marcie anyways."

"Fine," Tiffany sighs, "but I don't think she'll take it well."

"I know," I sigh, "but it has to be done. Star could call at any-"

My phone goes off with a text from Star that reads, "be there in five. Only gonna have a short window. Be ready."

"I gotta get ready to go," I explain, "come on."

I go inside to say my final goodbye.

To say goodbye to my best friend...

Comet comes back in. "Marcie," he sighs, Tiffany right next to him, "we need to talk."

"What's wrong I ask."

"I..." Comet turns away, "I'm saying goodbye."

"What?" I ask.

"I'm leaving Earth," he continues, "see, with a hair cut I'm able to look like Star and-"

"But I-" I can already feel tears streaming down my face.

"What's wrong?" Comet asks, "it'll be OK. I'll be king. I'll be happy. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but you'll be OK, you have other friends. It's not like you have a crush on me!"

A portal opens behind Comet he lets go of Tiffany's hand as Star emerges.

"You gotta go right now!" She explains, "or the guards will see the portal!"

Comet hugs me, "thank you for everything, goodbye."

He prepares to go through the portal. At this point, I'm crying. He's leaving. He's leaving for good and I never even told him-

Screw it.

"Comet," I explain, "I... I DO have a crush on you!"

Tiffany glares, everyone expect Comet is mostly unsurprised, at least by the crush, it's my confession that shocks them.

Comet freezes up. As if every cell in his brain has locked up. He doesn't speak. No colors glow on his cheeks. He simply, without showing any emotion, turns around, goes through the portal, and he's gone...

I arrive on Mewni. I don't even know what I feel. I don't have time to process all these feelings, cause for now...

I have to pretend to be Star.

I walk into the dining room. Moon sits with River at the other end of the table. She stares at me. This is it, the moment of truth.

"What do you want for desert Star?" She smiles.

"My kindom," I want to reply.

"Apple pie," I continue my facade, but hidden under it, is a sea of conflicting emotions. What Marcie just admitted...

No. It's not worth thinking about. It's just to much right now. I'll think about that tonight. For now...

I need figure out how to kill Moon...
